Jack and Kel were playing World Of Devine(Yes, it's actually spelled like that) when the house shook, like a shockwave coming from the backyard. They got up to check it out and paused the game, when the TV suddenly switched to the news without any input from the two.

“This is a world-wide warning. Meteorites and meteors have been crashing into the world for the past hour and 15 minutes like no other astral event before. They release a shockwave approximately 2.5 times bigger than they should for their size, and leave no marks or craters on the ground other than the small hole they are found in. Everyone stay away, these are possibly dangerous and have caused people to see hallucinations once interacted with. Repeat: Stay Away.”

Kel, as usual, immediately ignored the warning and dragged Jack out to the backyard to see what was apparently a meteorite in the ground, about 3 inches deep.

“Let’s touch it!” Kel said, walking over to the meteorite.

Jack, having been Kel’s friend since they were babies, just sighed and walked over to the meteorite. 

They both agreed to touch it at the same time, and Jack started the countdown

“3… 2… 1… TOUCH!!” Jack yelled, and the two touched the meteorite

Almost immediately, the meteorite split in two and the halves started floating in front of each of them

“Wooooooaaaaaaahhhhh” Jack said, for obvious reasons.

The halves became more transparent and lighter and thinner until they were, you guessed it, translucent blue screens.

The screens were covered in scribbles, but before long, the scribbles evened out and became English letters that read: 

WOULD YOU LIKE TO INHERIT THE REMAINS OF THIS POWER?

Kel and Jack, having read system novels before, said yes at the same time

The box turned red and said

ERROR: TOO MANY INTERACTIONS

LOOKING FOR SOLUTION TO ERROR

SOLUTION FOUND…

INITIATING…

Both Kel and Jack blacked out.
