Chapter 3

His voice vibrated throughout the lecture hall, sending everyone into complete silence. Lucas felt cold sweat on his back.

There was no doubt about the recipient of his voice, as he was glaring daggers at this one examinee. The examinee, with their hand already on the paper and flipping through it, yelped in shock.

“The test has not begun and you’ve already touched it. That counts as cheating, you are disqualified. Exit the room.”

The examinee in question did not dare say anything as they cowered in fear.

As soon as the examinee exited the room, the middle-aged examiner started talking again.

“The exam is now starting. You have one hour to complete the Yijun Military Academy Entrance Written Exam. This is a difficult exam that demands your attention. No talking, or cheating of any kind. Any infractions will result in immediate disqualification and consequences. You may now begin.”

Lucas nervously turned to the first page.

The beginning ten problems were quite easy, but as soon as question 11 came into the picture, many examinees quickly started to struggle.

Time felt as if it was moving infinitely slower, and the room fell into silence as the only sound that could be heard was the scratching of pens.

After question 30, the multiple-choice portion ended and it began the open answer portion.

This was the hardest section by far and many examinees were already sweating bullets.

Question 33.) What is the purpose of military intelligence, and why is it important in wartime?

Lucas pondered for a bit before giving a well-rounded answer.

Military intelligence is essential for gathering information about the enemy and planning effective strategies. It allows the military commander to make more informed decisions and quickly react to changing situations on the battlefield. It also allows us to identify potential threats and weaknesses in the enemy's defenses, and to find opportunities to exploit them. Intelligence data can be used to develop countermeasures against the enemy's weapons and tactics, and it provides us with valuable insights into the enemy's culture and values, allowing us to better understand their motivation and intentions. Military intelligence helps us predict the enemy's actions and movements, giving us an advantage on the battlefield. In warfare, where information is often limited, intelligence can be the difference between victory and defeat.

‘This answer should be alright, this is kind of like the exams I took back then.’

Time ticked by and just as Lucas had finished answering the 50th question, time was up.

“One hour has passed. The written exam is now over. If you add anything else to your exam right now you’ll be disqualified. I will now collect your exams, remain seated.”

Lucas gulped as the examiner collected the exams one by one, when the examiner reached Lucas’ desk, he could feel a powerful aura emitting from the examiner, proving that he was a powerful warrior.

He dared not make eye contact, as cold sweat ran down his back.

When the examiner finished collecting all the exams he spoke,

“You may now go to the Nightingale Training Hall to take the practical exam.”

The Nightingale Training Hall was connected to the lecture hall Lucas was currently in. It only took a short walk to exit the lecture hall and enter the Nightingale Training Hall.

The training hall looked more advanced than the old-fashioned lecture hall. In the center was a huge circular arena, on the sides were bleachers for sitting, and on the wall there were huge screens.

There was a room that overlooked the entirety of the arena and bleachers, covered by a wide glass panel. Lucas assumed that it was the control room.

Lucas had come to understand that everything in Yijun Academy was huge.

He took his seat among the bleachers as two more examiners entered the control room above.
