Chapter 10 - The secret date

The very next day, Kim Ji Ho and Jeon Do Yun began their secret relationship. It was not any typical romance. They didn't engage in much conversation in class or in public. Instead, they exchanged smiles frequently and occasionally had private chats.

During one class, Ji Ho was seated when Do Yun approached him from behind and placed a hand on his shoulder.

Startled, Ji Ho turned around. "Oh, it's you, Do Yun. You scared me."

"Did I really scare you? I'm sorry, I just wanted to surprise you. I didn't expect you to be so shocked."

"Well, anyone would be startled," Ji Ho replied. "What are you doing here? Where are your friends?"

"They're outside. I just wanted to focus on my boyfriend. Is that not allowed?"

"Oh, who's your boyfriend?" Ji Ho inquired.

"The one who just asked," Do Yun teased. "Or are you denying that you're my boyfriend?"

"Keep your voice down. Others might hear you."

"Oh, so you do care."

"Aww, remember when you suggested we try a two-week trial?"

"You remembered that?"

"Yeah, I also want to see if I can bring happiness to someone."

"Why do you doubt yourself, Ji Ho?"

"I don't know. Now, go back to your seat. The bell is about to ring, and someone might see us," Ji Ho said.

As the bell rang, students returned to their seats. Do Yun asked the student behind Ji Ho to switch seats with him so he could sit behind Ji Ho.

The bell rang and students filed into the classroom. Do Yun tapped the student behind Ji Ho and asked to switch seats. Once settled, Do Yun poked Ji Ho's hand when the class began. Startled, Ji Ho turned back to face him.

"Do Yun?" he said in a hushed tone. "What are you doing here? Go back to your seat."

Do Yun leaned forward. "It's too late to change now. The class has already started," he spoke slowly.

Ji Ho looked straight ahead, trying to maintain his focus. Do Yun passed a note to Ji Ho without anyone noticing. Ji Ho took the note and read it.

-Ji Ho, you have a way of making others smile. Whenever I see you, I can't help but smile myself, - the note read. Ji Ho couldn't help but smile in response to the heartfelt words.

Taking a pen, Ji Ho quickly jotted down a reply and passed it back to Do Yun. - Yuck. I feel like I'm going to puke, he wrote

Do Yun chuckled as he received the note. He swiftly wrote back, - Oh, if you don't believe me, just look back. You'll see me smiling.

- Don't smile too much, Do Yun. People might think you're crazy, - Ji Ho wrote, adding a funny emoji.

Do Yun couldn't help but smile wider as he held onto the paper, carefully tucking it into his pocket. "Why am I acting like this? It's not how I usually behaved with my ex," he thought, stealing a glance at Ji Ho. "Maybe I'm overthinking things” With that, he turned his attention back to the front of the class, ready to listen and learn.

After the class, Do Yun approached Ji Ho and stood before him. Ji Ho greeted him with a smile. Do Yun gazed at Ji Ho intently, not even blinking.

"Ji Ho, are you available this Saturday?" Do Yun inquired.

"I'm sorry, I have a tutoring session."

Do Yun let out a sigh in disappointment…
