Let me go!
This isn't my life

This isn't my life

Pamela:

The clapping dies down, and I do my best to smile.

“Thank you so much for coming here to listen to my new album! I appreciate that you could have been anywhere, but you chose to be here.” I say, and wait for the audience to be silent.

“Goodbye!” I shout, and wave as I walk off the stage.

I am a famous singer, Pamela Winter. Being a singer is not easy. You can’t sing songs that are difficult, you could ruin your voice. You have to deal with fans, paparazzi, and haters. You have to sing every night, with little free time. I see my boss, Jeremy Grays approach. He has a look of glee on his face.

“That was a very good performance, Pamela! This is the reason we are famous throughout the world” he says, gesturing to the wild audience.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

I’m the only reason he has enough money to live. He is very rich, while I have barely enough money. He waves me off to my assistant, who leads me to my room.

“You may leave now.” I say.

After she leaves, I sigh. What I would give for a different life!

”Pamela, time to wake up! We’re going to have a big day today!” I wake up to the sound of Jeremy opening the curtains. Usually he’s not allowed in my room, so I guess Marilynn, my assistant let him in.

“Ok, ok. I get it. Today is a big day, and you need me up early.” I mutter, and finally he leaves.

All day, I have a disturbing thought in the back of my head, making it hard to concentrate.

“Run away!” It whispers, louder and louder.

“Fine!” I say aloud.

I don’t think I’ll feel bad for Jeremy, he’s sort of mean, and has enough money to last him a lifetime. But I’m not so sure about Marilynn, because she has always felt sorry for me. I like her, even if she is very, very quiet. So I tell her my idea, and she looks relieved, as if she was going to suggest it to me. So we start to plan.
