Arriving in Finland

Arriving in Finland

Pamela:

I’m in Finland! Everything is so strange here! It’s quite cold, even though it’s summer.

“Hey Siri, what’s the weather?” I ask.

“It’s currently 64 degrees Fahrenheit.” Siri answers.

Sheesh, that’s cold for summer! I put my hoodie on, and walk inside. I would put the hood up, it’s cozy, but I’m worried it’ll disturb my wig. An employee approaches.

“Moi, tarvitsetko sinä apua?” She says.

“Um... sorry, I don’t speak...Finnish.” I say, hoping she speaks English.

“Or I speak Swedish.” I say.

“English is fine. My name is Aura, after the river. Can I help you?” She asks.

Aura seems nice. She looks like she’s about my age... but I don’t think they’d let a 16 year old work here.

“Yes, please. Is there Wi-Fi here? I promised I’d call my friend when I got here.” I say.

Aura says there is, and tells me the address. Then when she leaves, I check the time in LA. 19:16. I should have just enough time to call Marilynn before the next concert, at 19:30. I call her. Beep beep. Beep beep.

“Hello?” "

Marilynn! Hi. How was the first concert? Did it go well?”

“Oh, hi Pamela! It went pretty well! On one song, I accidentally sang the chorus twice, but no one noticed and sang a different song from my heart. Anyways, Jeremy doesn’t suspect a thing. I booked a ticket for tomorrow morning. It should find them enough time for finding a replacement singer.”

“Yay! Do you know where the airport is?”

“Yes. And the money for the new album came in. We’re rolling rich!”

“Even if Jeremy took most of it?!”

“Yep! I’m bringing it with me. We’ll have to change it into Euros, though.”

“Yeah, I thought of that. You’d better go, now. Bye!”

“Bye!”

I sigh.

It’s so good to talk to Marilynn again. I miss her already. But now I’d better find a hotel.
