This year, a genetic variation on a molecular level was detected in about 5% of zygotes. This variation is small and seems to pose no significant risk. Several doreius zygotes were terminated at the request of their owners. Still, the ones owned by the Agricultural Co-Op and TechDir were left alone. We will monitor them long-term to see what difference this has. Several dominensis zygotes were also seen to have this variation. Most were chosen to be dispatched as having undesirable traits. The Hammarskjolds have kept theirs, seeing as they were having difficulty getting one to become viable in their brooder. Tabs will be kept on Tamarindus, who was born this year. This must be done carefully as upsetting other Politirs can lead to undesireable personal results.

Variation Tamarindus Hammarskjold has been shown to have increased creativity for dominensis equal to doreius or higher. She shows slightly lesser socialization skills, but the increase in creativity is worth this mutation. Her sleep patterns are higher than the usual dominensis, 5 to 8 hours versus our standard 3 to 4. Her parents had us check her out. She has exceptionally high brain activity while sleeping, like someone working on tough mathematics or concentrating on a difficult task. Her transducer does not record these nightly mental sessions. She shows increased creativity after sleeping and has been making drawings of a highly creative nature. This mutation may be worth introducing to children of Atlan in TechDir. Variations keep cropping up within the population, the Eugenics board is growing concerned, but it seems it may be a natural phenomena. We may have to accept the variation.

Tamarindus Hammarskjold has become highly creative, though surveillance is limited. Discovery by subject would be very detrimental to the long-term effects of this study. Her commsducer is showing regular brain activity though exterior scans show differently. The subject shows an increased need for food beyond an ordinary preteen’s needs. She also requires more time outside, and artwork output has increased. Some technical drawings have been recovered. All machines are plausible, some are steam-powered, but in directions we never took. Some have no known means of functioning, but it looks like they would work.
Other subjects with this mutation in the doreius population do not show the same creativity boost. However, some have become highly aware of their environment. They avoid the cameras and know when someone is nearby, even without any noise. Several dominensis have been surprised by them in different situations. They remain firmly under our control, though. One pair of twins seems to know what the other is doing at a distance. This gene mutation may be more interesting than just allowing a leap in creativity. Politir Tamirindus is showing a small amount of hyperawareness and a camera spotted her building some odd machinery. More study needs to be done, though carefully. . Director Náttúra Cesarsdóttir is great friends with the Hammarskjolds and attended the child’s naming day celebration. The child’s father has also been appointed the vice head of the Ares project. He will be privy to all of this office’s future communications. They may not like that we’re looking at their daughter as an experiment. Surveillance should be done only through secondary reports from now on.
