Act 1, Chapter 8, The End Game

“Zato, come on, I need you to back me up” shouted Dargon as he charged the Thunder Gauntlet Jutsu, which causes Hakai to shout at Jerry for support.

Jerry obliges and, taking advantage of the fact that the territory created by Hakai allows him to project his own techniques on towards allies. Jerry activates Thunder Gauntlet as well by projecting it in on towards Hakai.

Dargon is stunned in disbelief as he notices a Thunder Gauntlet forming around Hakai’s right arm, while Zato sluggishly tries to retreat, sensing the intensity of Jerry and Dargon’s lighting based techniques.

A sudden clash then happens, as Hakai, using the arm coated in Jerry’s thunder gauntlet, grabs Dargon’s thunder gauntlet and begins punching his face mercilessly with his other hand, before Dargon can recover from the confusion caused by the situation he is in.

Zato, using Shadow Simulacrum jutsu, hurls the image of a burning tiger skull, which then obscures Hakai’s vision. This jutsu is a weaker version of the Phantom Garden technique, which doesn’t require a territory to activate and is based around the concepts of using both the Mirror Image and Transformation techniques together. This jutsu is consider weaker because it is easier to dispel, can’t be used to enhance other illusory techniques and has a shorter range than the Phantom Garden.

‘Did he get me while blinded by the Jagan...or has he regained his sight?’ thought Hakai to himself as he dispelled Zato’s technique, only to sense Zato kicking him in the ribs, forcing him to let go of Dargon.

“Forget me, take Alisa and regroup. I can hold this bastard off” said Dargon as he pointed at Alisa, who is struggling to stand up, to Zato.

“No, I’m staying with you to end this. This exam is impossible. No matter how much we avoid him, we have no chance of defending ourselves properly in order to pass – so let’s try and make a good impression by making him regret bullying us” declared Zato in a surprisingly confident voice.

“Dumb ass, if we split up and focus on the alarm clock we can win, but someone has to distract him and win time for everyone” shouted back Dargon,

An enraged Zato finally shouts back at Dargon “I’m not a fucking healer, I can’t help Alisa recover. Your strategy is no good because none of us is strong enough to beat or delay Hakai in a one on one...right now.....we either go down by Hakai’s hand or by the weird technique the ferret is using to slow us down.”

“I’m surprised you realized Jerry can use illusory techniques....or that you can tell you are under the effect of a jutsu....is this also the power of the Jagan....or is it your power alone, Zato?” asked Hakai with a pleasant tone, but in return, he gets a confused look from Zato, seeming like he doesn’t understand Hakai’s question.

Hakai then continues speaking “No matter. You deduced everything correctly Zato, this is the point where you fail this exam and fuck off back to the academy. Jerry’s jutsu functions like a curse, if you can’t dispel it, then it will eat away at your spiritual powers until it fully activates.”

Dargon turns to Zato to ask if he could dispel this technique, which then prompts Zato to shake his head, signaling the answer is a clear no. In frustration and utter defiance of Hakai’s superiority, Dargon then shouts:

“Ok, I’m seeing this fight to the end. We may lose the exam, but I won’t lose MY sense of pride, by surrendering - in what little time I have left, you will acknowledge me as a Genin and during our next fight, I will force you to acknowledge ME....AS YOUR FUCKING BETTER....YOU DAMN BULLY AND BASTARD !”

This declaration of defiance, made Hakai grin, as he activates the Yin Style – Enhanced Agility technique, which requires less spiritual power to activate, but provides a smaller boost to Hakai’s mental and physical agility, while requiring time to increase in potency.

Zato confidently adds, with his Jagan fully activated “I agree, there is no greater defeat than giving up on our dreams” which causes Hakai to laugh maniacally.

“Naive brats like you, are what makes my day, I swear by my honour, I will never get tired of putting kids like you through the trials of fire....” before Hakai can finish speaking, Alisa throws shuriken in Hakai’s back, wounding him.

Soon the sound of an alarm clock can be heard and 3 hooded figures appear out of thin air. One of them, is Chris Toph, the clerk from Labor who had the courage to shout back at Hakai when he was arguing against his new assignment.

‘No, no, nooo...fuck this, we were just getting to the best part’ thought Hakai to himself as he scoffed at the examiner’s intervention.

“Oy, who the heck are you guys and why did interfere with our exam?” shouted Dargon angrily.

Chris, looks with indignation at Dargon and immediately shouts back at him:

“You ignorant child, can you not recognize a proctor when you see one? I am Chris Toph, of the Saiga Village Labor committee and the actual proctor of this exam!”

This inappropriate reaction then causes, another of the hooded individuals to interfere, by pressing his hand firmly on Chris’s shoulder, while saying:

“I believe what you meant to say, mr Toph, is that you are ONE of the proctors of this exam” which causes Chris to nod in acceptance of the correction.

The Genin instantly recognize this second hooded figure, as the headmaster of the Ninja Academy, Garry Gasai; a man in his late 40s, 1.65 cm tall while featuring dark hair, green eyes and a stern appearance.

Chris Toph, of the Labour committee on the other hand, can be described as being 1.62 cm tall, featuring a cleanly shaven head, light hazel eyes while in his early 40s. Hakai was not happy to see Chris and cared very little of Garry, whom he considered a pawn of Labour.
