Act 1, Chapter 6, Death to all bastards!

‘My jutsu had the opposite effect on her? I don't really mind, as I get to have some fun, but, if I knew she had this kind of fighting spirit, I would have hunted Zato down first, so he doesn't ruin this’ thought Hakai to himself as he charges at Alisa with his Mirror Images in tow while renewing the Enhanced Agility jutsu.

Alisa creates 3 mirror images and begins to hurl waves of shuriken at Hakai, who dodges them gracefully while trying to close the gap. In Hakai's mind, he knows he can beat Alisa in a contest of ranged combat because she doesn't know how to use her powers efficiently.

Normally, a Wind Style user can nullify the advantage of Fire Style users via the Territory Creation jutsu, as it would enable them to create wind style techniques capable of redirecting fire into directions where they can't cause damage, all from a safe distance. However, in this match up, due to her lack of knowledge, Alisa is worried that once she starts using wind jutsus, Hakai will start launching fire jutsus which will extinguish her winds and help Hakai win the fight.

‘I thought so, due to her bias in thinking that she is going to become a medical ninja someday, she is limiting herself into a defensive fighting style favouring physical attacks over the use of ninjutsu -at least in long ranged combat scenarios’ thought Hakai to himself as he dispelled all of his Mirror Images in favour of activating the Yang Style - Enhanced Strength jutsu.

Hakai’s new plan involves forcibly closing the gap while the under influence of both Enhanced Agility and Enhanced Strength jutsus and then knock her out.

Alisa becomes shocked, noticing Hakai got rid of his own mirror images, who, up until this point, were mimicking his every move almost flawlessly. Afraid, he might try to do something crazy, she counters Hakai with the Wind Style - Dust Devil to blind him by hurling nearby dirt at his face.

Hakai charges with inhuman speed, scaring Alisa into over charging her Dust Devil jutsu, causing it to create strong winds and scatter dust in all directions, blinding both of them.

This, forced Hakai to change his strategy last second and he used the Yang Style - Intimidating Presence to intimidate Alisa into retreating before he reaches within striking distance her, as attempting to fight her with hampered sight would be troublesome.

Alisa sluggishly retreats while blinded by her own jutsu, a folly which would have easily gotten her knocked out, had Hakai known that Alisa blinded herself as wll. Hakai’s illusory technique is also taking a heavy toll on her, as she was not mentally prepared to counter illusory techniques which alter one’s emotional state.

Unbeknownst to her, Hakai’s illusory technique is making her unstable due to the fact that Hakai’s technique is meant to induce a state of fear by attacking the mind and spirit of the intended victim and that, her determination to be able to provide for her younger brother as the main bread winner is turning that fear into blind rage, which quickly drains away her reserves of spiritual power.

“I can’t back down now anymore. This bastard is really going to get it for making this personal ! FUCK him, FUCK uncle Kaleb, FUCK all the bastards who ever wronged me. I’m going to pass this bullshit exam no matter what!” thought Alisa to herself as she begins to become engulfed in rage.

After regaining his sight, Hakai begins to rush down Alisa once more at full strength, backed by the Enhanced Agility and Enhanced Strength jutsu. Because the distance between is greater than before, Alisa is able to cast the Dust Devil jutsu without blinding herself.

To Alisa’s horror though, Hakai is able to blast away her second Dust Devil jutsu, with a mighty clap of his hands and continues to charge at her, determined to knock her out swiftly.

‘In the end - she doesn’t have the willpower to overcome the darkness of the ninja world’ thought Hakai to himself, as he was about to close in the gap.

Meanwhile, Dargon, who was watching the fight between Alisa and Hakai, decides now, would be the best time for him to intervene and help defeat Hakai, by attacking him from the side with an electrified stream of water. As gratitude for Hakai not burning them to crisp bu hurling fireballs at them as a form of surprise attack, Dargon returns the favor by announcing his presence as he activates his technique.

Hakai and Alisa, narrowly dodge Dargon’s attack, who assumes a stoic poise, akin to protagonists in anime, after doing a heroic intervention, by preventing the defeat of a comrade.

Hakai looks in annoyance towards Dargon, unsure if he should commend him for using reasonable force, by not ambushing with a strong stream of electrified water or if he should scold him, for being an idiot, who could have simply used a non electrified water based attack, to reset the fight in Alisa’s favor while dealing damage to him. Before Hakai can say anything to any of the Genin, Dargon turns around towards Alisa and tells her something completely unexpected:

“Alisa, me and Zato figured out how to pass the exam! This is a game of ninja hide and seek. As long as we can avoid combat and focus on finding the clock, we can win. We mustn’t allow ourselves to be captured, no matter what!”

Alisa, mentally exhausted, looks at Dargon with an empty stare in her eye “Geijutsu doctrine 7, was it? Ninjas always chose fights they can win, right?”

Dargon, enthusiastically gives the thumbs up sign, fully aware of the fact that, he doesn’t know if Alisa recited the correct doctrine; as he was never good at remembering doctrines and philosophies of the ninja world.

Meanwhile, Hakai tries to buy himself some time in order to recover as much spiritual power as he can, fearing that Zato is nearby, after Dargon mentioned his name.

In order to buy himself time to rest as much as possible, without letting Dargon and Alisa run away, he decides to engage in banter with them – as a means to distract them from the fact that, they should be running for their life right now, to try and find the alarm clock.

“Do you really it’s going to be that easy? You won’t be able to escape me forever” said Hakai in a condescending tone, despite knowing that he had to cancel both the Enhanced Strength and Intimidating Presence techniques, to increase the amount of spiritual energy he can regain during a partial short rest.

“True, with your techniques which increases your physical abilities we have no chance of outrunning you, but it was never declared that once captured we can’t escape and continue with the exam” declared Dargon confidently.

Alisa looks confused at Dargon as she shouts angrily “What do you mean by techniques which increase physical abilities?! There is no such thing!”

Amused by the conviction with which Alisa said something so silly, Hakai promptly responds

“Yes there is, it’s a power only usable by people with advanced knowledge of the human body - it’s basically infusing muscles with spiritual energy to increase their output and then coating them with a protective layer of spirit energy specialized in reducing physical damage”.

“It’s a fairly common ability, among ninja who can use healing or enhancement techniques because it allows them to execute swift stealth kills, while conserving most of their spiritual power for emergencies. By the way Dargon, how did you figure out I have this power?” asked Hakai, intrigued by the fact Dargon never doubted that everything he saw wasn’t an illusion.

“I saw you blast away that small tornado by clapping your hands, as I was planing how to help Alisa get away from you. While it’s stupid that, our teachers never taught us about powers like yours existing, it’s also pretty easy to identify, once you are able to rule out illusions as a hidden observer” replied Dargon calmly, which in turn, made Hakai laugh.

‘Damn, I fucked up by relying on illusory techniques, since I have an aversion towards them. As long as Zato doesn’t show up, I should be able to defeat these two...but, if he does show up, I am going to have to summon my familiars for combat support – I can’t defeat these kids without causing them serious injuries’ thought Hakai to himself.

Suddenly, Zato’s voice can be heard from behind Hakai “Teacher, it’s really amazing how you found this hiding place for the alarm clock, can you please tell me how you came up with the idea of hiding it there?“

As Hakai turns, he notices Zato holding an alarm clock and tries to quickly activate the Yang Style – Dispel technique in hopes to break out of Zato’s illusory technique.
