In the beginning lived two gods, a couple who traveled together over eons loving one another and spending every moment they could enjoying their lives. They visited many worlds and dimensions encountering life, struggles, passion, chaos, and order. Happening upon a place in time and space just on the outskirts of a small planetary system sparse of life, yet brimming with profound magical energy, they decided to stay longer than intended.
The two gods were nameless, both having little distinguishing features depicting gender or true corporeal form but to them it didn’t matter, they were power, pure power. It didn’t matter if they had bodies or names, for if they wished they could be anything. After a few years of watching over the quaint solar system they had grown attached to one of the gods beseeched the other, asking for children.
She pleaded to her partner and lover,
"My love, over these past eon I have been truly blessed. To have you by my side and the love that we share has filled me with the greatest joy and strength, which drives me further still to this day. Never knowing want, never wondering what I could be missing, however an unknown birthed upon me the likes I couldn’t fathom. Eons we traveled, eons I never knew, but I watched without knowing while longing all the same. Until these past few years while longing upon these solemn planets watching their lives grow and crumble, I realized what I lacked. I wish for what they have, their reason for climbing through the rubble and chaos. To rise again, from such I would need their drive that they felt in their core from birth. To strive through uncertainty with hope to see their family, to have a family, to be a family. Eons, it took me to understand this pain, and now that I know why I long, why I suffer still, it binds me with grief indescribable. Let us make a world of our own, one where we too can raise children.”
Her partner embraced her in comfort agreeing without hesitation yet spoke words of caution," if we do this, we will undo ourselves. We have the power to do as you wish, yet if we do this, we will never see them. The power we would consume would leave us all but dead, barely shells of what we are."
She sighed in acknowledgement then began," We will unravel ourselves yes, but we won’t be just empty shells, we will become the ground they walk upon, the sun that warms their bodies. We will watch them grow and raise children of their own cradled in our presence for all eternity."
“You don’t know that will come to be. We may never even know what becomes of us truly, let alone our attempt.” He spoke somberly as she pulled away.
“Just as you don’t truly know if your correct either yet all we can do is try and in this moment, I want nothing more.” She spoke in finality.
The two fell silent embracing once more wielding all their energy as one. In their last moments before their consciousness faded, they decided to name one another, so their children would know their parents by name if they were truly successful. The power between them enveloped them pushing one another away reshaping their beings into heavenly bodies. The god became Solus, the burning sun, while his lover, the goddess, became Gaia the planetary bosom which would hold life.

Solus's sole duties were to warm Gaia, to give their children light as she spun in orbit around him, and to push back the darkness that surrounded them both. Gaia provided shelter, life, and sustenance so her children could grow and prosper. The two were met with strife, however.
The darkness that they had created their world in, was enraged that they had intruded into their realm and sought to devour Gaia and Solus in its shroud. Solus fought the darkness shining light as bright and hot as he could reach but in turn, he could only shield half of Gaia. The darkness pushed harder to take Gaia knowing she would have to be removed before they could devour Solus. From inside the young solar system shot forth an Envoy to investigate the new power struggle. The Envoy arrived bathed in brilliant light to which the darkness hissed and screamed their name in seething hatred. “L-u-n-a!” The darkness roared.
The brilliant light then coalesced into a beautiful humanoid woman with bountiful silver hair and blue eyes. She wore eccentric and lavish clothing which seemed to beam with its own light. "Nox…" She called her voice beaming from her lips, "Leave these two be! They have every right to create just as you have every right to exist." The entity of darkness known as Nox, too formed a wispy form with burning yellow eyes and a jagged gaping mouth. "They encroached on my domain, rudely intruded and sought to make a hovel; I will not stand for such arrogance...Luna." Nox spoke in disgust. Luna floated closer to him, never once leaving his angry gaze.
"We are ancient...primal, we represent that which was, is, and will always be. There are countless powerful, young beings in all our realms which we have shared existence with since before these two. You continue to pursue this path knowing that you will be met with earnest by me and the others who now reside with these two younglings the same as it always has been." In an audible scream Nox lunged once more, reaching out with every tendril of darkness it could muster to overtake Luna and Gaia. Luna closed her eyes shaking her head and stretched out her arms, her palms turned upward. Five different colored beams streaked out from Gaia and one from Solus merging with Luna as they formed a massive moon.
"No!!! Nox screamed desperately as his tendrils bounced off the moon and Gaia. Nox faded into the darkness once more swearing that this wouldn’t be the last, he was seen. Luna emerged from the new moon gazing upon Solus and Gaia with a smile. "This is our gift to you...with it, Nox can no longer harm you now that we are here." Luna spoke as the different colored beams once again shot towards her but instead of merging with her orbited around her as glowing orbs. One white, red, blue, green, yellow. "We shall remain, have no fear, bear your children and rest." She spoke again as she returned to the moon and the orbs descended upon Gaia. With their final thoughts Gaia and Solus created their six children.
First was Yggdra, the lovely goddess who sowed seeds of plant life and Elven kind into the uncultivated soil. Second came Andol, racing across the land, warping the terrain with each stride and fall. Third, flew Xawa through the skies filling it with feathered creatures, guiding wind and storms alike through them. The land beveled and swelled as water stretched far and wide filling crevices and chasms as the Goddess Leviana arose Forth from the waters creating sea life as she breached. Fifth soared Bahamut through Xawa's skies as he created scaled dragons of majesty to glide along the winds beside him, making homes in places like the caves of Andol’s mountains and Leviana's seabeds. Sixth and the youngest walked upon the land creating mankind where he saw fit, building towns and cities in his name, Rofton Snamuh. The gods and goddess continued to shape and work the world their parents had left them each choosing their own path. As time passed, they all grew together and apart. Created communities of their own as generation after generation of fought and squabbled over land and domain. Millenia blurred by as this turmoil would rise and fall, constantly on the edge of change.
