(Mercenary POV)
After leaving that cave, I’m now accompanying a tall cloaked man wearing a mask adorned with gold and dark blue gems emanating a majestic and ancient aura.
‘Ughhh..... What have I gotten myself into? Joining this just maybe worse than the dire wolves.’
“Keep up mercenary! I don’t want to lose my only guide in this forest!” The man shouts.
‘Alright... what the hell am I doing...”
“Also, why are there wolves following us?”
“.....Huh?!”
In the distance, a loud and powerful howl was heard.
‘Why has this happened to me? ‘

‘You’ve done it this time Karin. You are seriously dead. What do I do? Keep calm? How do I do that when there’s a giant dragon in front of me?! This place is probably its den...’ Trailing off into panicked thought start silently praying.
Wait, I think the dragon murmured something. I should have been more careful... that was probably him deciding my fate. I have to run!
‘Oh no... why can’t I move! Wait I-I can’t feel my legs. I’m gonna die if I stay like this.’

Suddenly...
“What are you doing here human?! How dare you enter my lair and rudely awaken me from slumber?!Answer my questions!”
The dragon had a deep and majestic voice, though my instincts tell me that this voice now decides and rules my fate.
‘Mother, Father... forgive me if I don’t return to you.’
With a tear in my eye I put my faith in Kronth and hope I survive.
(Manveil POV)
“A..... human?” I murmured.
What’s a human doing all the way down here?
Also...
“What are you doing here human?! How dare you enter my lair and rudely awaken me from slumber?!Answer my questions!”
‘Sigh*... I hate doing this to other creations of father but I can’t be too careful.’
“Shriek*... I-i’m sorry l-lord d-dragon. I-i was unaware t-that your greatness resides here. I m-merely fell down h-here.”
Why is she shaking like that? Hmm...
Whoops! I guess I should remember to weaken my aura. I mean I’m not fighting armies and heroes anymore, am I?
After dampening my aura she seemed to tremble less. That’s good. Maybe I should try to be more civilised. I mean she addressed me properly, even though I’m not a dragon. At least she tried...
“Now answer me human! What cycle is it?”
If I could recall correctly unlike me and my father who count time by the centuries, humans tend to tell time by the cycles of their world’s climate. Then again they do only live a mere few decades.
“I-it’s the cycle 1342 my l-lord.”
‘Hmm so I’ve slept 1216 cycles then...’
...Wait what?! 1216 years?! Dammit I’ve been dozing off for too long! Alright Manveil, you’ve got to see this new age, the new people. Time to see what your endeavours have wrought!
“What is your name human?”
“K-karin l-I am a-“
“Human! You shall accompany me as my guide for this new age!” I don’t even let her finish.
She did wake me up so rudely. Why shouldn’t I return the favour by a tiny bit.
I can’t wait to see the fruit of my labour. What has happened in my sleep?
Get ready world. Manveil is back to explore your vast existence, see every sight, climb every mountain, dive into every sea and delve into the depths of the earth.
...Wait a moment. Wouldn’t it be best if I change form? I mean I’ve been a dragon for centuries, but what do I turn into? Ah! I know.
Nodding, I engulf myself in a pitch black mist. I’m tingling with wild excitement already.
