“Tap Tap Tap” the sound of Ellen’s fingertips tapping on the glass window.

Ellen was sitting at the window seat of the bus. Her best friend Anja was sitting next to her.

“Ellen you’re being annoying!” said Anja who had a noticeably irritated tone in her voice.

After hearing her friend’s voice Ellen snapped out of her trance and looked straight into Anja’s Hazel eyes.

“Sorry Ann” Ellen mumbled.

“Hey what’s up?” Anja was looking at her friend waiting for some kind of response.

“I’m fine…” said Ellen as her thoughts once again drifted away.

“Ah… whatever not like I’m not used to it by now.” said Anja who shifted her face away from Ellen.

Anja had her arms crossed and… was she pouting?

Ellen couldn’t hold back a smirk it was just too amusing

Ellen tried to ease up the tense mood by starting a new conversation

“Hey Ann…?” said Ellen carefully

“Mhmm…?” said Anja while lifting her brows slightly uninterested.

“How’s Tom doing?” asked Ellen slightly leaning over her friend’s lap hoping to receive eye contact.”

Ellen knew from experience that talking about Anja’s boyfriend always got her in high hopes.

Anja immediately sat up straight and couldn’t hold back a smile.

She started to give a detailed report of her last date.

Ellen couldn’t be any less interested however she didn’t want to be the one to spoil the mood.

While her friend was talking Ellen’s thoughts once again drifted away, she couldn’t help but think back at what she’d heard earlier that day.

---Flashback---

Ellen was at her home in West Rock, her suitcase patiently waiting for her at the door. The bus was leaving at ten so she still had an hour left. Ellen decided to watch some television. Ellen had landed herself on the black leather couch and turned on the TV. She was zapping through the channels when a program caught her attention.

A man in his late forties with a few strands of grey in his black hair was wearing a slick black business suit. The man was sitting on a couch across from a lady who seemed to be in her late thirties wearing a red cocktail dress.

The lady who was interviewing the man had a smooth way of talking.

“So Mr. Fujimoto what information can you tell us about the upcoming mass multiplayer online virtual reality game Last Game online or otherwise known as LGO.”

Mr. Fujimoto replied with a smile

“Unlike previous virtual reality games Last Game online will be the first ever multiplayer online virtual reality game”

“As some of you may or may not have already heard Dustion corps and Magmium corps are now officially one cooperation.”

The audience gave a nice round of applause, after a short break Mr. Fujimoto continued.

“We have merged scenery features and similar quest mechanics from earlier games like Endless Maze from the producers of Dustion corps and the game Inferno from the producers of Magmium corps. We have also added some older features from the game Zachon also manufactured by Magmium corps.”

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

The lady with the cocktail dress leaned forward and spoke into the microphone

“Not only have the two greatest gaming industries in all of history joined hands but they have also worked together to create the most astounding virtual reality game with close to one hundred percent realism, This game isn’t something to laugh at.”

“And if I recall correctly Mr. Fujimoto the size of the world will be almost endless?”

Mr. Fujimoto leaned back on the couch while talking into his microphone

“That is correct the game will endlessly generate as players explore more of the world, the world will continue to grow and expand by itself generating towns, villages, cities, dungeons, quests and events with it.”

The Lady now had a surprised expression on her face, her mouth itching to ask more

“How… how can that even be possible?”

Mr. Fujimoto went silent for a short while as he was pondering how exactly he wanted to explain the phenomena to the public but then facing the camera he began to speak.

“This will be Unison corps first and last project”

The public let out a gasp, Mr. Fujimoto soon continued.

“The reason we decided upon the name Last Game is simply because this game is going to be our last and thus we named it Last Game.”

“The reason Last Game is going to be our last game is because this game has an endless amount of playtime. The game satisfies its own demand, be it mobs, quests, dungeons, events, terrain resulting in a never ending game.”

“It has taken us years of programming however together with Magmium corps we have finally been able to create an endlessly expanding world!”

“And that all was made possible due to the new unison of both cooperation’s… simply fascinating!” said the reporter with an enthusiastic expression on her face.

“Moving on…”

The Lady paused to look down at her questionnaire list. She then spoke into the microphone.

“Mr. Fujimoto we have received several questions from our viewers concerning character customization, race, and class specializations can you give our viewers farther insight concerning these matters?”

Mr. Fujimoto replied and with a clear voice he said.

“As to not spoil the fun for the players prerelease I will only say this…”

Mr. Fujimoto shifted to face the camera.

“This new world you players will embark on will be like no other games you have ever played before.”

“When born were you able to decide on your appearance, your talents, your skills?”

“This game will essentially give you a new life a new you! And the only limit to your abilities and what you can achieve will be yourself and how you view the new world around you!”

“I wish you players the very best! And most of all have fun gaming!”

With that Mr. Fujimoto stood up, bowed and left. The lady thanked everyone for watching and so the interview came to an end.”

Anja was still talking about her boyfriend when Ellen’s flashback ended

“Hey Ann…?” said Ellen

Anja stopped talking and then replied.

“Yeah Ellen?”

“Have you heard of the game Last Game online?” asked Ellen while looking out of the window.

“We should try playing it.”
