Chapter 38 - Warmth

Chapter 38 - Warmth

Inside of that small room was a bed and on that bed sat a young man. It wasn't of course some random man, no other man could make her heart jump like he did.

"Stev?" She whimpered.

A muffled voice whispered from behind the door.

"You've can't avoid him anymore."

Stev stood up from the bed and looked at the little elf. Which in turn made Thess cover her face with a scarf she wore on her shoulders. She backed up in to the door and tried the handle, but of course it wouldn't budge.

"He knows everything Thess, everything. Talk to your boyfriend." Aleyn said with a low voice.

"What!?!" Thess yelped.

"I told him everything." She continued.

"You! You promised!"

Thess yelled at the door after which she followed up with a few pushes trying to get out of the room.

"You promised me Aleyn!" Thess yelled angrily.

She didn't get a response, at least not the kind she wanted.

"Thess..."

Her heart skipped a beat again. She was too focused on Aleyns betrayal to remember Stev was here, and now he was behind her.

She tried pushing the door open again but slipped on her dress and fell on the floor. Sitting on the floor on her knees she had nowhere to go to get away from Stev. He crouched down to get closer to her.

"Thess... You have no idea how much I've missed you. After that day when I saw you covered in bandages I was tormented day by day by that very image of you."

Thess didn't respond she just cried quietly on the floor. Stev reached for her shoulder.

"I've heard everything Thess I know you don't want me to see it."

He tried to turn her so he could see her face.

"Look at me Thess."

She still refused. She was now facing him but her face was facing down and her face was still covered by the scarf.

"Look at me!" Stev yelled.

His appearance flared, as if he emitted a heatwave. The elf girl slowly raised her head until her bright blue tear filled eyes met with Stevs, even now he could see some scars around her eye sockets and nose bridge. It slightly caught him off guard but he had to shoulder that shock

Stev carefully removed the scarf from her face as she kept staring at him. As he exposed her face he began to realize why she was so conscious of the scars. The scars were distinct and plentiful, the original wounds have to have been deep to leave such rough scars and to think her whole body was covered with them, some worse than this.

Stevs face broke in to tears as he embraced the quiet elf girl on his chest. It was a surprise to her as it wasn't the reaction of disgust she was expecting. The girl seemed so small, so much smaller than the world around her, but her fear started to disappear slowly as she laid in his embrace.

"I'm so sorry...." Stev wept.

"If only I could have been there for you. You needed me and all I could do was ask what happened the day after." Stev muttered in agony.

He held her for some time, not wanting to let her go anymore or she might disappear.

Two hands crawled along his sides and took hold of his of him.

"It's okay Stev.... It's okay... It's fine..." Thess finally broke her silence.

Comforting, she was trying to comfort him as he held her close and tight. They held each other for long, they had no idea how long but it didn't matter to them.

Maybe her thoughts had been exaggerated, no they definitely had been. Stev wouldn't be so superficial as to be disgusted by injuries, no matter how grave they were. Had she instead been semiconscious about her own looks? That might have been it after all.

"I was so afraid my looks were the only thing keeping you with me. I ended up tormenting you." Thess whispered.

"You're a fool Thess, a stupid fool.... But you're my dear fool.."

Stev pulled her face from his chest and looked her in the eyes.

"The day I met you, I fell in love with you, not your body."

Thess still very teary eyed gave a sly smirk.

"Oh, is that why there's something pointy poking my stomach?"

Stev was too caught up in the moment to notice all the blood flowing down his pants. He was pitching a full tent that any bystander could see and Thess definitely had of course also noticed. He distanced himself awkwardly from Thess and turned away in embarrassment.

The idea that she was the reason for Stevs little.. no big, definitely big problem put her on a little playful mood. She lunged and pressed her whole body on Stevs broad back as she hanged on his shoulders with her head right next to his.

"Did you get hot and bothered ? Aleyn is just behind the door you know."

He turned his head slightly towards him and looked at her. Stevs was blushing as he looked at her scarred face and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.

"If I didn't I would be very worried, there's no man who wouldn't get excited when feeling the one they love so close to them."

It was Thess's turn to show her embarrassment as her smooth skin turned red from the touch of his lips. The suddenness of it all caught her off guard and she in her surprise lost her grip on his back and dropped on her knees. His words were sweet poison which ran through her body making her feel warmth and joy.

She took in a deep breath and readied herself. She nudged herself in front of Stev while his eyes followed her in confusion.

"What are you.."

But he was interrupted when Thess's hands took hold of his cheeks and before he could do much else she closed her lips on to his, it was their first proper kiss. They stayed together for quite sometime as they exchanged affections but it was not something that could go on forever and when Thess pulled herself away from Stev she tried to keep her cool as she playfully noted.

"Delicious."

Stev having had enough of her being in the lead too her by the waist and forced himself on her lips, though force might have been too strong of a word as the person wasn't reluctant at all but instead welcomed it enthusiastically.

He leaned towards her to lay her on the floor and when they separated his eyes were glued on her. Thess opened her eyes to meet the gaze of his. No... The glimmer in his eyes showed something else to her.

Lust, desire, need. He was like a glass of water ready to spill over at any notice, but he was keeping himself together and it showed in his eyes. It felt as though he was frightened.

Why was he scared? Was he afraid he might lose himself? No.. He was afraid, afraid of the delicate girl in front of him. He was afraid of hurting the one he loved. Not to mention Aleyn was just behind the door.

Maybe it wasn't time for them quite yet.

"We can't do this, not with Aleyn behind the door." Thess whispered quietly.

"She's gone."

"How do you know?"

"Her part ended when you no longer tried to leave. She's probably somewhere in the town right now."

That reminded her of something. The two of them went so far to get her to meet Stev, was all of what happened to Aleyn today just acting and means to get her here? They went that far for her, especially Aleyn. It was touching, very touching for her. Thess definitely needed to have a talk with Aleyn to thank her, though she deserved so much more than that.

She snapped back to reality with her still on the floor and with Stev on top of him gazing affectionately at her. This man as well, he waited months in agony and with no information to go by as his loved one refused to see him and in the end he showed no change of heart even after hearing what had happened.

"Take me." Thess whispered quietly.

"Wha?"

But his breath was taken away as Thess started to undo her dress and show herself to him. He leaned closer in daze as Thess mesmerized him by showing her body, all of the scars, all of the curves all of her imperfectness, all of her.

He looked at her body and more blood started rushing through his head as his heart pounded away but he still held his composure like a gentleman. Or at least tried to.

"Are you... Are you sure Thess? Are you sure you'll be oka..."

Thess pulled his face towards her and enveloped him in another kiss, her tongue swirled and assaulted his mouth like a lustful beast, much different to the first two kisses but not in a bad way. It conveyed her feelings to the note, she wanted him.

"Take me." She whispered again.

Stev swallowed hard and his stomach turned as he picked up the girl from the floor and laid her and on Aleyns bed never breaking eye contact. All it took was a nod from her, the message was sent, received and filed.

Tonight would be just for them.

Next to Aleyns room was another smaller inn room which was supposed to be empty for today, but through some trickery Mr.Dalbert Sutton had booked and paid for it, Inside of the room a dwarf girl was reading on the freshly made bed.

The name of course was a fake one Aleyn had made up as explaining another booking to Rylee or Kharis would have been too troublesome so she instead had bent the rules a bit when neither of them had been watching. She of course paid for the room as well since she didn't want either of them to notice and barge in with questions as Stev and Thess talked through their issues.

She had left the door to them unblocked the moment it was clear Thess wasn't going to run away and went to this room to have a read as it was way too late to go out for anything other than a walk which she didn't feel like doing. Not after all the crap she had gone through today.

Through the wall she could hear Thess and Stev talking in murmurs, a comfortable compromise as she didn't really want to hear what they were saying but she did want to know they were okay. Though their chatter had died down for quite some time now and she was getting worried.

""They didn't strangle each other did they? Should I go check? God this is so awkward."" She thought.

But then suddenly she started hearing something, it was quite muffled but she definitely heard two voices. She was relieved to know they hadn't done anything drastic but as she listened on the voices started to become a lot clearer, not to mention louder.

It was becoming quite clear to her what was happening. She felt slightly distressed as the memory of what happened last time crept in her thoughts.

Did she misevaluate Stev and his intentions? If it was mutual it would be extremely good and it would be horrible if she charged in. But if it wasn't and she didn't then Thess could suffer such a shock she could never be the same again.

She decided it was better not to take chances and stood up from her bed but as she did she was hit with a sigh of relief as a familiar girls voice roared through the wall.

"Yes! Yes! Oh Yes!"

It was muffled, but clear enough for her to understand. Aleyn sighed in relief and smiled as she deemed there was no worry.

""That could have gone horribly wrong. Think I've grown too cynical because of last time.""

Problem now was she had made different mistake as she wanted to go to sleep. Deciding to let the couple have their fun she zoned herself to some 'Understanding elements: Earth' trying to make sense of it all.

Two hours later, she laid under her blankets but with eyes wide open and in slight distress. It was late, so very late. She would usually get up in a couple of hours but right now she had not had a wink of sleep.

"I've made a terrible mistake." She said out loud in a quiet voice.

A mixed sound of groans and moans still echoed through the walls around her.

They had been having sex for more than two hours! They had not stopped gasping and moaning ever since they started. Aleyn was in pure agony as her sleeping rhythm tried to force her to sleep but Thess's voice would wake her up every time.

She was so ready to just barge in and kick Stev out of the inn. This was not part of the plan! No amount of sacrifices can fix this injustice that had been dealt to her sleeping schedule.

She threw her blanket off and sat up in anger about to go to them but as she did, all of the sound disappeared. No more groaning, no more moaning she could only hear the blood rush in her ears.

She was too happy to notice she was falling on her pillow as she was finally taken by the sweet embrace of sleep.

The next day Thess woke up in Aleyns room. She was momentarily confused but then remembered yesterday night, all of it. She blushed in happiness and looked around the bed only to notice Stev not being there. A moment of distress overtook her but she then noticed a piece of paper on the side he was sleeping on.

"I have something I need to do. I'll be back after Lunch. Make sure you eat well Thess."

She sighed with relief and decided to do just that.

Thess took a quick bath and put on her clothes, after which she felt like a new person completely. The weight of her worries had been wearing her down for quite some time but now that they were lifted she could go on with her normal life with the one she loved, that very fact made her ecstatic.

She took a look at her clothes, they were slightly ripped around her waist but that was probably because of the last nights floor crawling. It wasn't anything she couldn't fix with a sewing kit and normally it would have annoyed her as it was one of her favorite dresses, but she ignored it as she was too filled with happiness and went for breakfast.

The dining area was practically empty in the morning, only one person who was just sitting there reading a book.

"Aleyn!" Thess yelled.

The dwarf girl jumped up in her seat having lost her concentration on the book in front of her.

"Not! So loud.. Thess."

Thess was a bit confused but as she saw Aleyn turn towards her she didn't look okay. Her eyes had massive black rings under it and her eyes were bloodshot.

Thess asked with a smile which she couldn't help.

"Didn't sleep well?"

She tried to not sound annoyed but some of her feelings slipped out as she replied.

"You could say that yes..."

Thess being too high on emotions didn't even notice her slightly angry mood.

"That's not good. Everyone needs a nice quiet night of sleep."

"Oh yes..."

She then left to for the kitchen with a fresh spring in her steps.  Aleyn watched her go and shook her head but couldn't help smirking slightly.

Thess returned with a large plate full of fruit and some cooked meat and started munching.

"Stev told me about your plan Aleyn. You made me realize how wrong I've been to neglect Stev. You've done so much for me I don't know how I can ever make it up to you."

As much as she had been annoyed at Thess for ruining her night of sleep it was very hard not to smile and be happy for her.

"Well first of, don't do it again." She said with a smile.

Thess agreed with a nod.

"Second of, and this is the important part. I think it'll be the hardest thing you've ever endured." She said with a serious tone.

Thess waited patiently without moving.

"Give me that apple."

Aleyn smirked and swiped the apple off of her plate.

"Nooooo! I love apples! Give it back!" Thess said with playful distress as she reached for the apple.

"Nope, it's mine now." Aleyn concluded and took a huge chomp.

Thess giggled, if Aleyn wanted all of the apples in the house or even the city she would go through every length to gather them. Though it still wouldn't be enough to show her gratitude.

"But really Aleyn, you've done so much for us. You saved me, you helped me even when I was selfish and then this... There has to be something I can do for you."

"I don't need anything right now but I'll think of something since you really want it. It can wait though, seriously." Aleyn sighed.

Aleyn leaned over to her side of the table.

"Did you two get it all out though?"

Thess gave a nod and smiled as she started telling her about everything.

"Sounds like a steamy romance story." Aleyn huffed.

"If you think that was steamy then you should guess what we did after that." Thess winked.

"You two had sex, probably your first time. Right?"

"Yes it was! It was so good, like... Wait.. how did you know?"

She replied with a slightly annoyed tone.

"You could say I just have inside information..."

Thess moved away from Aleyn slightly in a nervous manner.

"You... You peaked?"

"I didn't need to. I stayed in the room next door. You two kept me up all night."

Thess turned bright red.

"You listened on us?!" She whispered angrily.

"You think I wanted to? You know that the walls aren't that thin right? You two.... were loud as hell for two hours... Two hours!"

Thess now so red it was a surprise she didn't erupt in a volcano of blood, she covered her face with her hands. She hadn't even thought about other people while doing the deed and the aftermath was so embarrassing. The passing of time was also lost to both of them completely.

"Forget everything you heard!" She said sternly

"I can't! Your moans are burned in to my mind! 'Touch me!' 'Yes right there! Right there!'"

"No! Stop! Stop! Aleyn!Don't!" Thess yelped in distress.
