Note: Chapters sadly won't be daily for a while, I'm a student and have to study. :/

Chapter 015 - Lection One: Always Stay Vigilant
By Skalsar
"Hivemind" and I are watching curiously. Through the mind of the creature that is.
The group of humans have cleared most of the tenth layer.
First, "Hivemind" wanted to just kill them off in order to minimize the damage they cause.
He changed his mind after seeing my newest creation.
'Finally!', another breeder is also watching and quite excited.
The humans entered the last passageway.
Next is the bossroom before they can reach the next layer.
"What is this?", one of them asks.
"Huh, an empty room? Shouldn't there be a boss right here?"
They aren't very vigilant I guess.
"What is this?"
Before them, a chestnut dropped to the ground.
The woman picks it up.
"A chestnut?", another human gets close to take a look.
I chuckle.
The other breeder starts to snicker too.
Only "Hivemind" is focused.
"That..!", another human seems to notice the creature on the ceiling. Too late.
*FOOOOOM!*
A loud explosion echoes through the layer.
One human is crying out in agony.
Blood and gore is everywhere.
"WAAAH! I can't see!", the human who was looking at the chestnut besides the woman shouts.
An arm is lying around. Don't know where the hand and fingers went though.
I didn't believe it would be that strong.
The woman is lying on the ground. Her rips completly broken.
I know because I can see them.
The flesh was ripped off by the explosion and some organs are showing too.
Her other arm is bend in a very weird way.
Most of her face is gone.
A human who noticed is puking.
The fourth one has problems standing and is holding his ears.
Seems like the sound was a problem for them too.
Funny!
But they won't be stunned for long I guess.
"What happened! What the hell happened!", the blind guy is screaming.
'That's what they call pain.', I tell the new creature.
I named it [Slashing Chestnut] by the way.
Hiding on the ceiling and throwing exploding chestnuts.
Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
It puts magic power into a bud until it grows into a chestnut.
The magic power is then being compressed.
I learned to compress magic power into a higher density from fiddling with cores.
But the [Slashing Chestnut] uses magic power to put a small flame inside the chestnut.
After releasing the chestnut, air gets inside and the fire and magic power expand rapidly.
The explosion that took one human instantly is the surprising result.
But it isn't over yet.
The [Archer] started to fire arrows against the creature and the [Novize Mage] is channeling a fireball.
[Slashing Chestnut] is quite good though.
First, it slashed at the mage in order to stop him.
The blind human isn't a threat and can be ignored.
And they didn't even notice the second chestnut that was thrown before.
It detonated behind the mage, throwing him under the creature.
[Slashing Chestnut] released the hold on the ceiling and dropped on him. Crushing the head.
"NOOO!", the archer is shouting.
Even without crushing the head, the mage should have been dead.
But I don't think the human understood that yet.
He is charging in now in order to avoid the exploding chestnuts.
But [Slashing Chestnut] isn't moving.
Even after being scratched with a knife.
Oh, clever thing.
The human seems to think it died and therefore dropped to the ground.
He is crying, looking around.
As he tries to roll the creature down from his dead comrade, he gets stung by a vine.
[Slashing chestnut] is laughing in our minds.
'Humans are stupid. This is fun!', it says.
It slashes at the human and throws it back.
The shocked archer tries to get up again, but his legs fail him.
He finally notices that he got poisoned.
A third chestnut explodes between him and the blind human.
I wish them better luck next time.
Well, not that there will be a next time for them.
It's a lie though, I don't with them better luck, sorry. Lying is wrong.
[Dungeon Lord], as well as the other breeder and me clap our hands.
It was a good experiment.
I'm quite proud.
With this, we can return to other stuff.
But I guess I will think about new creatures some more.
A good diversity seems to be very important.
