History of Buloger
The Principality of Buloger was one of the three products conceived by the Voghgran Empire’s decline and the growing differences between the Khazadurian Dwarves of Nomadic Descent and the Dunirrian Dwarves of Noble Origin.
Originally part of the Empire as the Margraviate of Gurlodir, the region was one of those deeply shaken during the last years of the First Heroic Era and the first years of the Second Heroic Era. For a while occupied by the Demon Lord’s forces, the region was retaken and reorganized at the end of the Second Righteous War against the Demon Lord.
Still, the strife and the general dissent culminated in a major change: the country found independence in 47 SHE when the Margraviate of Gurlodir was stormed and ultimately reformed under the guidance of the Buloger Noble Family.

The cause behind such a move could be found within the excessive taxation that was invoked during the Second War on Demons. The economic scythe struck nobles and peasants, thus creating a harmonious assault to create something new from the ashes of the ruined Margraviate.
While such an action would have been met with Imperial retribution, the rebellion coincided with the years-long event that would be remembered in Voghgran as the ‘Fall of the Quartz and the Gold’, where a political play would see the deaths of the two only heirs to the throne, thus hurling the Empire in a state of disarray that would be dealt with by 99 SHE.
Renouncing its ties with Voghgran, the new nation developed into a Principality where Constitutionalism is paired with the principle of Noblesse Oblige, the Noble Duty of the Aristocracy to invest time, effort and money in securing a stable and progressing new realm.
Sadly, the idealism driving the First Reform Era perished together with Prince Rolhunhorn the Merciful, the first ruler of the country meeting his early death due to Gnomish Fever in 55 SHE. The ensuing two decades would see the growth of a few powerful families, but also a harsher approach towards potential rebellions due to the intense disdain peasants felt towards the ruling class.
In 78 SHE, Joshparn the Mighty, the third child of Prince Rolhunhorn, led the charge of Gurlodir’s Castle, seizing control from the main branch of the Buloger Family and instituting a decentralized political system.
Rather than follow the old and archaic system of tributes, a reformed taxation system was introduced and legal measures were prepared to handle the worst economic felonies while also preventing corruption from spreading too deeply into the state.
The old Advisory Council was reworked to have more seats and introduce people that were not of noble origin. In less than 30 years, Buloger turned into the first legitimate Constitutional Monarchy within the Dhalian Continent and one that favored greater rights to its people.
Still, all good tales come to stagnation due to lasting peace.
In 112 SHE, Joshparn died of old age, his wounded body ultimately struggling to make it to his 100s or even produce a proper heir, and the throne was soon left to his younger brother Bjorhold with the crowning of Princess Ferinalm as the Heiress to the realm.
It’s 121 SHE and the Principality had seen rapid urban growth and the development of new settlements within the heartland. King Bjorhold holds council regularly, but his health has been suffering a steady decline due to a weak strain of Gnomish Fever. While the succession is secure, many members of the Bulogerian Council worry for the stability of the principality due to Princess Ferinalm’s relatively young age.
The political strife around the corner, is not something the realm is looking forward to experiencing once more.
