"Now, for the final and most important topic of the day before you can go search for your respective rooms.
Starting today, you will receive a Power Seed and a Technique Book."
Ari and the other cadets stared at Teacher Carl with puzzled looks. Power Seed? Technique Book? These were entirely new concepts for the cadets. Information about these had never been heard before, even among cadets with connections to more senior knights.
"You all seem confused. Excellent.
This means the secrecy of the Knight Academia is still well maintained."
Instructor Carl paused for a moment, looking around the class with a satisfied expression before continuing his explanation.
"Before I provide further details about these two items, I need to inform you of something.
Since you enrolled as cadets, You are all under a magical contract to keep the secrecy regarding the Power Seed and Technique Book.
You can try to discuss these two items, but I can assure you that you will not be able to speak about them, either verbally or through any other means of communication."
Ari and the other cadets began attempting to talk about or write about the Power Seed or Technique Book. As mentioned by instructor Carl, they were unable to do anything when trying to write or speak about these two topics. Some even seemed to try to communicate telepathically, in an exaggerated manner.
They paired up, placing a finger on their foreheads and whispering to each other as if trying to push information out of their minds, which of course they couldn't do.
The cadets were bustling with discussions and conversations about the magical contract they were unaware of. Some even praised the extraordinary secrecy methods of the Mountframe Knight Academy.
After letting the class buzz with discussions about magic contracts, instructor Carl regained the attention of all cadets as he drew two objects on a whiteboard using a chalk. The first object was shaped like a solid sphere enclosed in a transparent cube, while the second object was a book and a scroll of paper.
"The first object I drew here is the form of the Power Seed.
Simply put, the Power Seed is a magical object that will make you much stronger than regular training. You will be able to see the results of applying the Power Seed on your status table, specifically in the Additional Status column.
Of course, the Power Seed consists of several levels and you will only receive the lowest level. What you will do with this object will be taught later in your other classes."
Instructor Carl looked around the class, gazing at each cadet's face showing great hope to become strong. He smiled satisfactorily and then continued his explanation.
"The second object I drew here is the Technique Book.
As cadets, you will be required to master at least one Technique Book before being declared graduated.
The Technique Book itself consists of many levels, and you are only allowed to study the book with the lowest level. After you graduate, you will be allowed to study books with higher levels depending on your position and status at that time.
A little addition from me, a great knight masters more than ten techniques but focuses on one type of weapon."
Instructor Carl then explained the various types of weapons available for cadets. Whether it be swords, spears, axes, or others, Instructor Carl explained everything in sufficient detail and patience, even allowing cadets to ask about the strengths and weaknesses of each weapon type.
Meanwhile, Ari was not very focused on all of the explanations from the instructor Carl. As soon as instructor Carl explained about swords and shields, Ari's mind was already full and busy with imagination and extraordinary movements that once again emerged in his mind. Fortunately, Alma and Leon were unaware of Ari's behavior and were busy listening to the instructor Carl's explanations; otherwise, they would have surely thought Ari was having mental issues.
After the class ended, all cadets were allowed to leave the classroom and find their respective dorm rooms. Ari, along with Alma and Leon, walked towards the east dormitory building where their dorm rooms were located. The three of them wondered about their roommate named Flowy, envisioning the kind of person they would meet while hoping they could become good companions in the future.
It didn't take long for the three of them to reach the dormitory building. Their only difficulty arose when they had to find their room because all the dorm doors and hallways looked exactly the same. Eventually, they found their room and quickly opened the door.

Leon was the one who opened the door, and she was greeted by a floating chair heading towards him. Luckily, Leon promptly ducked and avoided the chair, causing it to head straight towards Ari who was right behind Leon at that moment. Fortunately, Ari was not as startled as Leon and managed to catch the floating chair, although it made his hand feel a bit sore.
"HEY! WHO DARES TO THROW THAT CHAIR!!"
Angry, Leon rushed into the dorm room, finding a woman with brownish-blonde hair and a face equally furious as Leon's. Ari suspected her to be Flowy, and Leon began to confront her, each of them shouting threats and curses of various kinds until Ari was amazed by the multitude of words they possessed.
After fifteen minutes of intense struggle with no winner, Alma finally managed to get Leon and Flowy to sit together inside their dorm room.
Their dorm room was a long space with access to four bedrooms. Right in front of the entrance on the far left side of the room was a common area with a round table and four chairs. Beside the entrance on the right side, there was a kitchen set complete with a sink and cooking area. Further to the right were two toilets and a bathing area with a laundry area at the end of the room.
Meanwhile, the four identical bedrooms were lined up across the entrance. Each bedroom was equipped with a bed, wardrobe, desk, and chair, all made of simple wood material, placed in front of the windows for the cadets to study on their own.
Ari, Alma, Leon, and Flowy were currently in the common area, with Leon and Flowy still exchanging annoyed glances. To break the silence, Alma finally attempted to start a conversation.
"Well, our initial meeting may have felt unpleasant. Let's try again in a better way. My name is Alma, I am the child of a merchant in Mountframe."
Alma then glanced at Ari, signaling for Ari to introduce himself, which he did with a slightly confused expression.
"Uh.. my name is Ari, I am a farmer from Westedge."
Alma then gently tapped Leon's arm, trying to tell her in a very soft manner that it was now her turn to introduce himself. Leon responded by giving Alma an annoyed look and then introduced himself very briefly and half-heartedly.
"Leon. farmer's daughter."
Alma then glanced at Flowy, as if signaling that it was time to introduce herself. Flowy seemed equally annoyed as Leon, but she appeared ready to introduce herself more gracefully.
"I am Flowy Riverstone, the ninth daughter of the noble Riverstone family in the town of Soutlake. I am here to become the top graduate knight, and you villagers will not be able to stop me!"
Alma and Ari were surprised by Flowy's words, while Leon seemed even angrier than before. Fortunately, before Leon could explode in anger, Alma took over the conversation.
"Thank you, Miss Flowy. We will not stand in your way."
Ari could see a change in Alma's eyes. He was equally displeased with Ari and Leon upon hearing Flowy's words. However, Alma chose the wiser path by simply closing her ears and ignoring Flowy completely.
After their brief introductions, the three of them quickly chose their rooms. Ari selected the second room from the right, directly in front of the kitchen and the first bathroom. Ari's room was situated between Flowy's and Leon's, while Alma took the last room in front of the entrance and common area.
Upon entering his room, Ari began unpacking his belongings and organizing his clothes. As Ari opened the wardrobe, a musty and damp smell attacked his unprepared nose. Concerned about the room's quality, Ari started inspecting each piece of furniture and discovered that almost everything was in a state of near decay.
'I need to fix these pieces of furniture if I want to live here comfortably.'
The only pleasant thing about the room was the soft and comfortable bed, filled with fluffy feathers that provided an exceptionally cozy rest.
After finishing unpacking and arranging their personal items, ensuring that no clothing directly touched the old, slightly musty wooden wardrobe to avoid leaving stains on their clothes, Ari decided to leave the room and continue their activities for the day.
Ari double-checked the brochure provided by the instructor Carl and noted several tasks that new cadets needed to complete before the end of the first week. One of them was to choose a Technique Book and obtain their first Power Seed, both of which Ari could acquire by returning to the main building.
Alma and Leon followed Ari out of the room shortly after. Leon still appeared annoyed, but her condition had improved significantly. As they were chatting and discussing their next plans for the day, Flowy emerged from the room and saw their three dormitory friends discussing their agenda for the day.
Feeling entitled as a noble to be more respected than commoners, Flowy immediately approached Ari and their two friends with a demanding gaze. Unfortunately, Flowy's previous words had deeply hurt the trio, so when Flowy approached them, they decided to promptly leave the common area and exit the dorm room.
"We don't want to stand in your way, miss, so we'll leave immediately."
Alma made an exaggerated gesture of respect before quickly following Ari and Leon, who were walking faster to distance themselves from Flowy. Meanwhile, Flowy could only stare in disbelief at the empty open door, a mix of anger and embarrassment consuming them as they watched Alma leave after showing excessive respect that seemed almost mocking.
"Watch out, you backwater people!"

Ari, Alma, and Leon returned to the main building, walking aimlessly without a clear direction, unsure where to step next. Their brochure instructed them to acquire the Power Seed and Technique Book in the main building but did not specify their exact locations.
As they wandered, they noticed several other cadets who seemed equally puzzled. These cadets were likely newcomers in a different class.
After half an hour of random wandering, Ari spotted some seniors practicing at a corner of the field not far from the main building. These seniors seemed to be practicing from the same book, evident from their synchronized movements. They wielded simple spears with sturdy wooden shafts and sharp metal tips.
Ari, Alma, and Leon could only watch in awe from a distance, hoping that one day they would be as skilled as those seniors.
"They won't progress much if they continue training like that."
Ari turned around, recognizing someone who commented on the seniors he was observing.
"Sir Edmund!"
