Allen Grey's POV
I try not to make much noise from my heavy breathing by covering my mouth and sitting still inside the small linen closet at the abandoned hospital. I'm hiding because a demon is in this building and I know it's hunting for me; because I have so far heard the demon go past the closed door that had no lock a few times. It's creepy ass chitter/growling and heavy footsteps give it away. Seems like the thing doesn't have a good sense of smell, which is good for me because it would have found me a long time ago. Like I will even be able to get away with a twisted ankle and a few broken ribs. I'm hoping that one of DHS (Demon-Hunting Squad) will come soon; as I have contacted the Aurora Corp. through text about what was happening an hour ago, including my parents who work in the office departments there. As I think that, I also think back wondering if this wouldn't have happened if my friends haven't coerced me to come with them inside this hellhole. But if they had gone in by themselves I would have been called a coward who let them go to their deaths.
This morning I woke up like any other day thinking I woke up before the alarm. I looked at my alarm clock and shot off the bed because it was dead. I ran to the kitchen to look at the time on my phone that was on the charger. it was 8:01 am
"SHIT! I'M LATE!" I yell, scaring Mr. Snowboots, a white Siamese cat with what looks like black boots on his paws and mismatched eyes of blue and brown. After hissing and growling at me for a few seconds, he slinks off to my 7-year-old sister's room who gave him that name. he was supposed to be my cat for my fifteenth birthday over two years ago as a kitten and I named him Bandit. But the evil thing would always attack me every time I tried to pet him, did so to everyone except my little sister Patrice. so I gave him to her and mostly ignored the cat unless he gets really close to me, meaning that he is thinking of either attacking me or stealing my food if I don't pay attention; Usually the former.
After putting a burrito in the microwave I noticed that it too was dead and realised that the power in the house was off. I put the burrito back in the freezer and grabbed a few apples, an orange, and a banana from the basket on the counter and ran back to my room. I dumped it all onto my bookbag and then ran to Patrice's room to get her up. Only to see her sitting up and stretching with that evil cat on her lap.
"Get ready quickly sweetie, we're late," I say to her before I run to my parents' room to find that they are also awake and starting to get out of bed.
"Did I hear you say shit earlier?" Dad asks me.

"Sorry, it slipped out," I tell them as I saw Mom give me a disapproving look.
Dad snorts a laugh and tells me to get ready while he calls the school. I ran back to my room and got ready, being glad I have short hair, put my fruit lunch in my bag and went to the door to grab my shoes.
"I beat you again Al," Patrice jokes with a smile on her face.
I smile back at her while feeling a twinge of jealousy which then made me feel guilty for being jealous toward my sister who was able to awaken her ability of teleportation at the age of four. Though she still has trouble in the enhancing department. Though I'm able to do enhancement which makes me stronger, faster, and makes my senses sharper; I don't have an ability which I'm supposed to by now since I'm seventeen.
(Being lazy on details. Will fix at a later date) In this world, there are multiple humanoid races which are Elves, Dwarves, Beastman, Draconian, Mermaids, Humans, and Vampires. There are monster types of beings that live out in the wilds who don't like others encroaching on their territory. Elves are proficient in magic. Dwarves are in building and crafting. Beastman have the abilities of their animal counterparts. Humans, jacks of all trades. Draconians, able to shift into the dragon and humanoid forms. Mermaids have water abilities; have fishtail in water and legs on land. Vampires drink blood not allergic to the sun or silver, garlic makes them sneeze.
As I was thinking of that, Patrice give me a hug and says goodbye to everyone and teleports to school. After she left Dad comes to the door and we both go out to get in his car so he can take me to school. The cool thing is that he has one of the Aurora Corp. vehicles that run on mana stones instead of gas and oil. The thing also flies or hover as dad says. As we fly through the air, I see other hover cars and winged wyverns as they fly about the city. I asked dad about the power outage and he says with an embarrassed look that he forgot to pay the light bill, which got me to laughing so hard that tears were rolling down because he usually NEVER forgets to pay the bills. he laughed with me good-naturedly as he pulled up to my school which is called Azure Sky High School, We fist bumped and said later to each other. It was only when I had gotten to the office did I remember that my first class is algebra with Mr Sylvester and hope that he is still asleep because it will be embarrassing to have both the Prez and him to ask why I'm late. Yep, he was, and the Prez was just getting up to see if he was. She gives me a questioning look because she knows that I usually show up before now and told her the power was off at home. she gives me the ok sign, and I go to my seat at the back of the class. Gave my best pal Micheal a fist bump before sitting behind him in the empty seat. Oh crap, she got the air horn, I covered my ears right before she pressed the button.
HONK!!~
GAAAHHH!!
CRASH!
Pfft, it's hilarious every time she does that and his reactions are always comical. Prez sits back down in her seat, Michael gets his 3ds taken and finally class starts.
