Chapter 3- Blessing, Guardian , Titles

Eian stood by himself in the room covered entirely by white snow. He could never forget this room; it was the room that marked his journey into “King’s Rite”. His nightmare had once again started, but unlike the last time, this time he had chosen this.

Since there was no way to avoid this fate the only thing he could do at the moment was fight. To get stronger and fight, and to do that he needed a fresh start.

There were too many secrets discovered too late. Too many people that should have been allies, instead turned into bitter enemies. Too many powers squandered by those who were lucky enough to find them but too dumb to know how to use them.

However, now that he had returned he would not allow such things to go to waste, he would not let so many resources be wasted in wars of petty grievances and false enmity.

As he stood lost in his own thoughts the angel silently hovered in the air in front of him observing him. She had clearly heard him say “Welcome to King’s Rite” alongside her, but she couldn’t help but wonder how that was even possible.

[No one from such a barbaric world should know of “King’s Rite”. That is why the “Counsel” had commanded the Angels to act as a guide for those that came from The Blue World. However, I clearly heard him say “Welcome to King’s Rite.”

Not only that but he did not display any panic or confusion as to where he currently was. Is confusion not the common reaction, or perhaps they had underestimated those from the barbaric world?]

She silently pondered to herself as she kept watch over his calm demeanor.

It did not take long before Eian’s attention once again turned to the Angel that was wordlessly watching him. She was the same as he remembered her. Her beauty did not change once in the 25 years her had known her and neither did her temperament. The end was the only time he had seen her face display any type of emotion.

Looking at her, his emotions once again became conflicted. It was impossible for him to say he was not moved at her final sacrifice, however was it that easy to put down the hate he felt towards her and those above her. Was a final moment of sacrifice equate to a lifetime of suffering and death? Could he just forgive her and start over again with her like he has done for his life?

*Sigh*

“One step at a time”

He closed his eyes and sighed while mumbling to himself. There was a lot he wanted to do and nothing would be accomplished if he rushed forward, so perhaps he should do the same with Elize. Progress one step at a time.

[I know you must currently be confused, however, the time we currently have is short and there is a lot that must be explained-]

While trying to come to a decision and calm his conflicting thoughts Elize slowly began to speak in order to explain his current situation, but there would be nothing new to him and there were still things to do before the game started.

“I want my blessing”

Eian said interrupting her speech.

Hearing him Elize was momentarily stunned. Her indifferent face showed a hint of disbelief before quickly changing back.

[What…?]

She asked slowly to make sure that she was not hearing things.

“I want my blessing”

Eian repeated once more, this time slower than the previous. He had noticed her look of disbelief and was slightly amused by it on the inside. He remembered when they first met, he was confused and afraid, but she had not allowed him anytime to full adjust before hitting him with an onslaught of information. Seeing how the positions had been somewhat reversed made him a bit happy, of course he did not show it on his face.

[I see…very well please give me a moment]

She replied after allowing what she had just heard to sink in for a moment. It was not unusual for some creatures to have some sort of blessing before arriving to “King’s Rite”, however having them ask for their blessing upon arriving at “King’s Rite” was a rare case. Even more so for a human who came from a known primitive world to ask for his blessing.

Now at least she could confirm that this human before her had prior knowledge of “King’s Rite”.

While Elize was quietly retrieving his blessing for him, Eian focused on the spot between his eyes, opening the passage to his third eye allowing his energy to flow into it and allowing himself to view his status menu.

“Huh!?”

Seeing his stats, he couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise.

While majority of his stats had remained the same as they originally were when he was first summoned, his Perception and Potential had actually increased and not by any small amounts. His perception had increased by 10, the equivalent of having gained 10 levels, and his Potential had increased by 30. While Perception could increase by increasing one’s levels, increasing a person’s Potential was something that was difficult. However, even though it had increased he still couldn’t help but feel slightly depressed at the fact that it was still below average.

His other stats were not bad; however, they could not be considered good either. At best, they were only slightly above average.

*sigh*

Thinking of how bad his start was he sighed in wonder as too how he made it as far as he did, but glancing over at Elize, he knew the fact that he had survived was due to her guidance.

[Ah!]

Suddenly Elize exclaimed gaining his attention.

“What’s the matter?”

[How is it possible that you for you to have a higher order blessing?]

“What? A higher order blessing?”

[Yes…blessings have different ranks like everything else, a high order blessing can only come from “The First Garden” …it is unheard of for anyone to receive a blessing from there unless…]

“Unless?”

Hearing her pause Eian encouraged her to continue. This was not the first time he had heard her mention “The First Garden”, however he was never able to gain much information into what it really was. She would always abruptly end their conversation or change it to a new topic.

A blue light suddenly appeared before him cutting his train of thought, its sudden appearance at first caused him to be startled, but upon remembering where he was and the conversation he was in, he quickly regained his composure.

He slowly reached his hand out towards the light, it gave off no heat nor was it cold, there was no feel to it, however, it strangely felt welcoming. As if recognizing his touch the light reacted and quickly flashed before him and then flew into his chest.

It was an odd feeling, it felt as if he was wrapped in a silky cocoon. It felt familiar yet along with it, it felt lonely, there was a longing to this feeling, a certain pain that could not be put into words.

He could not understand why, but a faint glow gathered around him and realization shrouded him. It was Elize’s blessing to him, her blessing had taken form as a “Guardian Spirit” blanketing over him.

[A Guardian Spirit…]

Elize was once again surprised, she knew that a blessing from “The First Garden” would be no small matter, but if they had presented him with a “Guardian Spirit”, in her eyes and in the eyes of the other angels if they could witness this scene you would think that they would place great importance in Eian to assign him one.

There was something else that bothered her, she did not know why but she felt as if this “Guardian Spirit” was somehow familiar.

It had taken her a second before she regained her composure.

[Congratulations…because you have received a “Guardian Spirit” you have unlocked the title “Spirit Blessing” 1 million “Points of Rite” will be added to your current points…you now have 54,091,120…wait…what?]

She was astounded how could it be possible, not only did he already have “PoR” (Points of Rite) before King’s Rite had even begun but he had an insanely massive amount. Then she suddenly recalled, he had received more than one blessing and due to the “Guardian Spirit” she had accidentally overlooked what his other blessing could be, that was the only explanation there could be as to why he would have so many “PoR” but that only raised more questions. Why would the “Garden” value him so much as to give him two amazing gifts and not just that but if the “Garden” wanted to give him points why give him such an odd number, if one were to exclude the 1 million points he had just received that would mean that he received 53,091,120 points as a gift.

Furrowing her eyebrows, confusion was riddled across her face, she could not fully grasp this situation and could no longer maintain her indifference.

While Elize was trying to process everything Eian was simply standing still losing himself in the warm and the similarity of the glow covering him. He slowly closed his eyes and a flurry of information appeared in his mind.

Reading the information on the blessing, the corner of Eian’s face slightly twitched.

“What the hell…why is there such a ridiculous blessing, even among of fiend’s no one had something like this before”

He softly murmured to himself.

“Elize…what other titles did I obtain?”

[Ah!]

Hearing him call her name she was slightly startled as she herself was lost in thought completely forgetting to announce his other titles he gained.

[You have obtained the titles “Points Megalomania” as well as “First of the New Generation”]

““First of the New Generation”?”

[Yes, it is because you are the first of the new summoned to gain “PoR”]

While Elize was explaining Eian once again closed his eyes to check the effects of the 3 titles.

“Tsk”

Eian couldn’t help but suck in a cold breath. Each title was good in its own right, but considering the fact that he was still only level one and just starting, it would not be an overstatement to say that each title would provide him with a major boost. He couldn’t help but slightly tremble with excitement thinking of the benefits he was experiencing just by receiving his blessings.

Looking at his “PoR” how could he not be excited.
