Departure
Xavi’us. For the first time, Kang Yan saw the face of Xavi’us, the demon lord who killed both of his parents. The dream he saw last night was imprinted deep in his mind. Anger, guilt, frustration, and all kind of others complicated emotions mixing together.
Even though his father’s last wish to peacefully live without regret, there is no way Kang Yan could forget the memories he received from his father. He wanted to become stronger and avenge the spirit race with Xavi’us head in mind.
Kang Yan know himself and how weak he is to dare challenge Xavi’us. He acknowledged Xavi’us’ strength through the memories he obtained from his father who died against Xavi’us on a one versus one match.
Kang Yan wasn’t the kind of straight forward person to go against someone that he wasn’t sure to win directly face on. His grandfather always taught him to never fight against someone who’s stronger than you otherwise only death is awaiting you.
Kang Yan also dreamed about his father’s childhood past. He learned through his father’s memories how to craft weapons and every spell he learned through his life, but even if Kang Yan learned the techniques, the practices aren’t the same. Kang Yan never learned blacksmithing nor magic until now, so he except for the strange feeling entering inside his body after his body awoken, Kang Yan didn’t even know the existence of magic until now.
It was already the morning and Kang Yan was still deep in thought. He was still three years old when that happened so his memories was somehow blurred until now. He couldn’t remember anything even a single clue about his past identity, but now everything was clearer. He took all his clothes, training weapons and all the gifts his grandfather gave to him. He directed towards the kitchen preparing the breakfast.
After finishing preparing the breakfast, he woke up his grandfather and together eat breakfast. During the breakfast, nobody spoke until that Kang Yan finally opened his mouth with a complicated expression.
“Grandfather… I… I remember everything…”
Kang Min who could only stopped eating suddenly and glanced at him with worried expression. Kang Yan was a spirit, on the contrary with human, they could live more longer than humans and their lifespan was even more longer than elves. Reaching fourteen years old for a spirit means that he already lived for more than fourteen centuries. He was afraid to tell that to Kang Yan and could only watch him silently.
“I see…that’s good.”
Kang Min couldn’t tell to Kang Yan that Xavi’us already ravaged the land and left to another planet with a never seen technology. He couldn’t afford to tell Kang Yan about the ravage that happened fourteen centuries ago. He could only say those words and with a heavy sigh finished his breakfast. Both finished cleaning and left the house, directing towards the village’s entrance without saying a word…
A lot of things happened since the spirit world has been destroyed by Xavi’us. Kael, Cairn’s son is currently searching for survivors inside the spirit world and the Kang sect is the new main home of the spirits refugees who survived during the demon lord’s invasion. Until now, only an amount of three hundred thousand spirits survived over six million two hundred thousand forty-five spirits during the invasion. It was quite shocking and showed how strong Xavi’us army was.(300’000 survivors for a total amount of 6’200’045 deaths.)
Meanwhile, the refugees started to increase and with their magic tried to increase the fertility of the environment creating the Spirit Mountain. A town under the mountain has been formed. It was people who believed that spirits still exist and wanted to borrow their power and restore the land that was ravaged and became unfertile over the year after Xavi’us destroyed the continent. Every century, a spirit come from the mountain and became the target of the people who received their benedictions. Pope, who received the benediction of the spirit, could guide the people with their benediction. Some could create wheat from nothing. Others could create strong weapons defending themselves against the demons’ beasts.
With all the powers the humanity received from the spirits who left the Kang sect, they created city and save the people from hunger and death. City with barrier has been built, the first of them was the one under the Spirit Mountain, Last Hope city.

People started calling the town Last Hope city because every century, a spirit will come from the Spirit Mountain and gave to the chosen ones their benedictions. People living in Last Hope city were spirits believer who survived through the demon lord’s invasion. Strong fighters, magician and priests are formed in Last Hope city inside the Last Hope academy. Different guilds and technology has been created after the invasion and the humanity somehow survived to the demon beats remaining on the continent.
In the Spirit Mountain, at the Kang sect village’s entrance was standing Kang Yan and his grandfather with all the villagers and spirits gathered sending Kang Yan their last farewell. Kang Yan didn’t have the courage to spoke to his grandfather until now. Kang Min was watching Kang Yan with careful and regretful eyes as he slowly left the village. Kang Yan stopped after few steps and turn his head. He started knelling on the ground and hit his head hard on the ground until he calmed down and blood spirted from his forehead then shouted.
“Grandfather…thanks for everything you’ve done for me until now! I, Kang Yan will repay your gratitude a thousand folds once I have the opportunity!! Keep my words inside your hearth!”
Everyone in the village was surprised and astonished from what Kang Yan was saying. They were all looking at Kang Min who after hearing Kang Yan, turned his body and with a serious tone said with tremble words.
“You…Idiot! Just go and achieve your dream. The world changed a lot and it better for you to see it with your own eyes…”
Kang Yan didn’t know the meaning of Kang Min’s words. He stood up and after a magnificent bow left the village.
It was winter when Kang Yan left the village.
At the peak of the Spirit Mountain, where the Kang sect’s village is situating, snows already overflow and endlessly started to drop with a cold air and endless whistling of winds.
Kang Yan descended from the mountain with one of his friend, a spirit bird called Toru.
Toru was found three months ago, wounded and has been taken care by Kang Yan. Since Kang Yan was from the spirit race, Toru liked to be around Kang Yan and stay around him. He became Kang Yan’s first friend since there was no child around the same age as him inside the village. Excepted for Kael and his younger sisters, he didn’t have any friends inside the village and his only family until he awoke was his grandfather Kang Min.
Kang Yan was shy and since his physique was feminine, the boys inside the Kang sect treated him as a girl. They acknowledge his strength but also at the same time never acknowledge him as a boy.
The cold air surrounding him didn’t mind Kang Yan at all. His body wasn’t affected much by the cold since he was already prepared before setting off. Only a strange feeling inside his hearth that couldn’t stop. Kang Yan was still exhausted since he didn’t sleep much last night. He was feeling tired and his vision was blurred.
He already walked for more than five hours and still didn’t arrived yet at the foot of the mountain. Toru who was exploring the horizon came back and returned inside Kang Yan’s jacket and told him about the town situating 5 minutes from the north.
He was totally out of strength and the blizzard was still falling. Kang Yan used all his remaining strength to head towards the north.
Suddenly,
ice wolves appeared assaulting him from the back.
Kang Yan was totally out of strength. He felt their presences and had managed to block the ice wolf with his left arm while unsheathing his wooden katana. But, before he could cut the wolf, his right arm suddenly stopped and a sudden pain inside his brain.
At the same time, lightning was surrounding Kang Yan and killed all the remaining ice wolves. Kang Yan collapsed after the pain ended…

At the same time, at the entrance of the village,
Kael finally arrived with Lucy and Emii through a warp gate from the spirit world.
Today should be the day where their young master should awake and they didn’t want to miss it.
But strangely once they appeared no one was waiting in front of the village’s entrance.
Kael who was surprised murmured in a low tone.
“Weird…maybe it was yesterday?”
‘’’’Big brother Kael…’’’’
They directed towards the Kang Min’s house for further information.
Once they learned that Kang Yan already left the village 5 hours ago, Kael sent Lucy and Emii towards Kang Yan and went inside Kang Min’s room with a serious expression.
“Inside the spirit world isn’t safe for the moment…we can’t let young master entering inside it yet. I hope young master won’t enter in the spirit world before the chaos ended.”
If the situation happening over the continent is the Hell, then the situation happening inside the spirit world is the Apocalypse.
The spirit world getting slowly destroyed by the strong corruption that corrupted the spirits becoming demon spirits, a monstrous existence that shouldn’t exist.
Kang Min once already fought against one and survived somehow. He was a warrior who practiced martials art cultivation over hundreds of centuries and couldn’t even scratch an existence called demon spirit.
Kael feared that Kang Yan might get affected by the corruption and become one of those demon spirit. Kael couldn’t follow Kang Yan in his adventure, he needed to protect to spirit world and make it better until that Kang Yan could finally inherit correctly his father’s throne.
With that hope, Kael returned inside the Spirit world after reporting the situation to Kang Min.
