Synopsis
Twenty years ago, in his hour of greatest need, the great orc warrior King Jend met the beautiful Aida, an elven sorceress who would become his queen. Together the couple freed their land from tyranny and built a strong, prosperous kingdom, where their loyal creatures of all types (mostly) get along.
Now they have two teenage daughters, Wyndy and Myla – powerful sorceresses in their own right, but with opinions.
As the story opens, the girls are setting off on their giant wolves, accompanied by their goblin and orc guards, on the simple mission of delivering party invitations to the knights of the realm.
The mission is interrupted by a young, handsome human noble from the neighboring kingdom, Count Rassler, who is fleeing a warrant for his arrest by his misguided human king. A company of human soldiers is in pursuit of the count.
Should King Jend incinerate this Count Rassler, for the crime of being a handsome male within fifty yards of his daughters? Or should he and the royal family and their kingdom protect the human? Will his wife allow him to decide? Can an elf and an orc even sustain a long-term marriage?
The book is like what The Princess Bride would be if the princess led wolf-mounted cavalry and commanded the artillery. It also has echoes of Terry Pratchett, updated for current issues and times.
