[LIEUTENANTS]: NONE
[ABILITIES]: SHAPE SELF, EXPAND, INSPECT, SPAWN
Lasair stared at the screen for a solid minute as her mind raced to catch up. Not only was she dead, not only was she apparently a crystal now, but she also had a goddamn status screen.
What the hell is this?
And to her surprise, that thought received a response.
[INSPECTING...]
[INSPECT]: [STATUS]: INFORMATION ABOUT THE DUNGEON AND ITS CAPABILITIES IS STORED HERE.
That was... surprisingly helpful. What is class?
[INSPECT]: [CLASS]: THE ROLE THAT FATE HAS ASSIGNED TO YOU. YOU WILL FIND ABILITIES RELATED TO THIS ROLE TO BE ALMOST INSTINCTUAL.
Lasair decided to brush past the fact that apparently fate exists for a moment to inspect the rest of the screen. [ROOMS] was the amount of rooms she controlled. Speaking of her room, she decided to finish looking around. Kinda got distracted by the whole "i'm a crystal now" thing. Lasair appeared to be in some kind of cave, with her particular room being connected to somewhere else by what looked to be a natural corridor in the rock. Further down the passage she could see an opening into a larger cavern, which looked to be lit by sunlight. The room she inhabited was circular, and about four meters across at any given point. While looking around, Lasair had found that she could move her point of view! It was still confined to the small room, but she could shift her vision out of the crystal and move it around. Satisfied for now, she decided to [INSPECT] a few more things.
[INSPECT]: [AFFINITY(S)]: THE KIND(S) OF MAGIC TO WHICH YOU ARE MOST CLOSELY ALIGNED.

Magic exists?This is going to be fun.
Lasair had a fire affinity. Does that mean she can do fire magic? Please say it means she can do fire magic. Temporarily dismissing the [STATUS] screen, Lasair focused all her willpower onto creating a flame. Nothing happened. She tried commanding one to appear, like she had with her [STATUS]. Nothing happened. She tried every fantasy magic trope she could think of. Nothing happened throughout all the various attempts besides making her core glow a bit brighter. She could feel her fire affinity, like a warmth in her non-existent chest. Right next to it was a cool feeling, like that of being submerged in water. What had her other affinity been?
Status.
As the screen appeared, Lasair noticed something. The screen did not appear instantly, more fading into view. And as it did, that cold feeling pulled. And with that pull, came sight. Beyond just shapes and colors, for a split second she could see strands of pulsing energy in the air, like currents in a river. And a very large portion of those threads were being pulled together to form the [STATUS] screen. As each fell into place, it shifted into an oh so familiar pattern. Ones and zeroes, yes and no. Code. Immediately after the screen had finished, the cold feeling, along with its sight, faded back into its place below her other affinity. Lasair rushed to use [INSPECT] of this second affinity.
[INSPECT]: [AFFINITY(S)]: MANA: YOU ARE INTERTWINED WITH THE FLOW OF MANA, AND CAN SHIFT THIS FLOW TO AFFECT MAGIC ITSELF.
Magic was just code. Magic was just code. Magic was just code! She could work with code. First, she needed to bring that cold feeling, which must be her mana affinity, back. Looking within herself once again, Lasair grasped her affinity, and just like before, she felt a pull. The strands were back, and this go around she had time to see how they worked! Each strand seemed to flow in a current, slowly circulating around the room. And if she focused, that current could be shifted, obeying her command. Sadly, the amount of energy it took to shift the current was immense. She had moved one strand just slightly to the left for barely a second, and already felt like she had run a few miles. Lasair was about to release the affinity when she felt the other stir. The warmth in her chest that signified her fire affinity was eager to be released. Pulling it out, she watched as the strands of mana in the room curved towards it, only to redirect at the last second. It was as if the affinity was attracting the mana, but could not actually touch it. She decided to try something. Using the last dregs of her energy, Lasair used both affinities at once, holding the warmth in place and using her control of mana to pull a strand through it. She immediately felt the exhaustion. It felt like she had been hit by a truck, again. But as the stand was pulled through her fire affinity, It began to turn a bright red. Coiling in on itself until it was the size of a speck of dust, the strand glowed brighter and brighter until... a spark. Barely more than a match, and burning out even faster, the spark was pitiful. But she didn't give a shit. Lasair had just done Magic.
{FIRE MANA DETECTED. UNLOCKING REWARD...}
She got to do fire magic and get rewarded for it? Hell yeah.
{REWARD DECIDED. CREATURE [WILL-O-WISP] UNLOCKED. USE [SPAWN] TO CREATE [WILL-O-WISP]? Y/N}
