Obviously this is not a chapter, but I wanted to explain where I'm currently at.

Short version:

1. I deleted the last two chapters.

2. New chapters will not be on a set schedule.

3. It'll probably be at least a week before another chapter, if not longer.

Long version:

I haven't been doing well. I've been pushing through it, hoping to at least make it to the end of "book 2," but then I got off my outline too far and couldn't pull it back. Pushing it has only been tanking my writing quality. As such, I'm taking some time to step back and re-evaluate my story without the pressure to keep producing content on a schedule. Just the relief I felt in making this decision (not one I made lightly) tells me it's the right choice.

This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.

I do plan to finish at least book 2 of this story rather than leaving it completely hanging, so there will still be content intermittently.

I need to go back and edit/condense what I do have to try and fix some of the rambling and glaring errors that come from me writing too fast. I don't usually let myself edit much because it kills my forward momentum, but it's clearly badly needed at this point. I'm not sure what I'll do with the fully edited version since I imagine the kind of brutal editing my story currently needs will cut its length in at least half as I jettison sections that don't add enough to the narrative. I may make the edited version available just on patreon or I may do a re-release of the editing, depending on how drastic the changes are.
