Chapter One: New Waves

By Kana Kana Tyrant of Worlds And All

                      Chapter One: New Waves

In life there are choices, if you think you want to go outside for the first time in a year then be prepared.

There are marvelous things outside, or if you happen to be unlucky on that specific day, then you could get hit in the head by a pot that falls from the third floor of an apartment building; pretty sad way to go, huh?

Now, if you were lucky, you could find a few dollars off the ground, but that does not always happen. Instead, you sometimes got to deal with life or... death.

I have no experience in writing at all, but I wanted to try my hand at creating a world of my own. This is my first story, and the main character is Kana, who is a lost soul on a path of greatness.

"Ahh, there you are, young one. It was hard finding you among all the other mortals," a voice tinged with amusement stated.

" Hmm? Where am I?" I asked feeling strangely weak and groggy.

"Where? Well, you could call it the in-between of the universe and all other things, I guess," the voice replied clarifying its words.

           " Who are you?"

"Oh, excuse me. I forgot to introduce myself.  I am Max; a 3rd Class Creator; now I'm sure you are wondering what that is, and we will get to that soon. What is your name, little one?" he asked me, sounding worried and a little angry.

"My name?  It's...It's...I- I don't remember for some reason. What is happening to me?" Clearly, I'm starting to panic. I can't remember my name, but I do remember walking down the street and seeing an abandoned warehouse. " I wanted to go in out of curiosity and take some pictures to show some friends when-"

“When you came on a kidnapping." The voice cut in.

“How did he know that?”

"A perk that comes with the job." The voice laughed at my internal question.

How rude!

"So, can you explain what is going on here? I'm kinda blind on information here." I'm in a pitch-black space with a weird voice in my head; yup, sign me up for crazy.

"Let us start from the beginning. In this universe, there are creators. The sixth class is the weakest. Then you have the fifth class; they are twenty times stronger. Next, are the fourth class, also known as Veterans. They are stronger than the fifth class. After that is third class--like me, known as the Wise Ones, we are forty times stronger than the fourth class. The second class is known as the Ancient Ones. They are forty times stronger than third. For the first class, not much is known except their title. We call them, The One Who Sleeps." The voice paused before continuing.

"Sadly, you died saving the little girl. You were stabbed from behind while escaping from the building. We creator’s, choose a specific being with immense talent to do tasks on different mortal plains. Once they fulfill all tasks, they have the option of becoming a creator like me. Congrats, I have chosen you."

"Why me?" I asked, trying to control my emotions of the news that I had died.

"You were born with a huge amount of soul energy; that is the talent I'm referring to." The voice patiently explained.

"What is that?"

"You will know soon enough. For now, you only need to choose whether you will be my candidate or not."

Well, it couldn't be that hard, could it? Besides, what choice did I have? "Alright, I accept. What do I need to do?"

" With your soul power, you have one middle-tier wish. Mind you, it's nothing big, like destroying worlds. The most you can have is a strength boost which would make you twenty times stronger than any being under the creator level."

"Can I get immortality?  That way, I can enjoy all these other worlds as I wish."  I always wanted to live forever, and knowing I was already dead made me feel like I was weak.

"Hmm, that's a higher tier wish, but I can take off certain aspects to allow it."

"Which aspect?" Hopefully not the good ones.

"I will make it, so you don't age. When I transport you to the next world, choose your age wisely. I will also make it, so you have increased regeneration, but if something destroys your heart and brain, you will die."

That was better than I thought it would be.

"Now, for your first task. You must go to the world of Wancruna, and kill one of the devil lords."

  "Why? Are they evil?"

"In Wancruna there are devil lords, above them is the devil king, then the emperor. The same rules apply, the king is stronger than a lord, and the emperor is stronger than a king. Your task is to kill a lord. Then you must stay in that world. " The voice remained quiet for a few seconds before it spoke again.

"For ten years. If you so choose, you will get stronger by stealing soul energy from beings you kill. You will start with strength a little stronger than an average human, so train hard and well."

"Definitely!" I shouted feeling motivated, a new world! This will be exciting!

"Good, since you cannot remember your name, I will call you, Kana. Now, all you need to do is decide the age."

"I want to be fourteen, so I can be younger than I was in my last life."

"Uh, your choice, I guess. Very well, I will see you after your success."

“Now remember, the rules are you can only be in that world for ten years. You must kill a lord within that time, or you will fail, and the penalty will be severe."

“Where do I find these lords?” If I don’t know where they are and fail because of that, it seemed unfair.

“Speak with the inhabitants'; they know since they are currently in a war with them. Be cautious, though, do not reveal your abilities for they cannot be trusted.”

I nodded my head but remained silent.

“Well, off you go, young one. Keep your eyes open; it is a world far more different than your last!” Max said, with relief in his voice. I wonder why?

“You will know once you land in that world,” Max replied, reading my inner thoughts again.

“Okay, then. I want to see this new world!” I replied, getting more excited.

“Sending you there right now. Good luck and stay safe, these inhabitants are more dangerous than most of the other races. So, be wary, young one." As Max became silent, a bright white light enveloped me.

                                          In Wancruna

In the Yoguna Forest, a small bright light appeared. In that light, a human figure appeared. The figure had a left eye that was sapphire blue and a right eye that was ruby red. Silver hair flowed to her shoulders, yet her face was not considered to be perfection. That didn't matter, though, for her beauty was not comparable to her mere appearance.

It was her aura that drew the attention to her. It was cold as a glacier, and her glare was like a honed knife- sharp and deadly. She had the ears of a cat, yet it seemed strangely cute with her cold expression. She stood there looking around after the light faded with a look of confusion on her face. What is going on?

She remembered being at the warehouse.  The reason she saved that little girl was because she loved children, and the child needed help. She was always arrogant, so she hadn't waited for assistance. It was a shame she had died instead, but she hoped the child was all right.

.

Her eyes widened when she remembered Max. “I see, so that is why Max was relieved. He must have been overjoyed to get rid of a menace like me,” she said out loud.

She was a menace back home. She would insult anyone. And would beat up someone if they made her angry or kill them if she felt they were trash because it was fun, but she did have her limits. She would never break a promise; would never harm a child or her family.

Also, she would never hurt an innocent person to the point of tears. Those were her rules. No matter what, you had to put limits in place, or you would never truly control your life.

She was stronger than many people she knew; she always thought that her strength was weird at the time but never questioned it. Then she let her guard down that day and was stabbed.

She stood there looking around.  The air was fresh. This seemed to be a forest but there were no animals around.  “I better find shelter.” Two hours later, she found a cave that would do nicely since it was the size of a small apartment. Forty minutes later, she had gathered enough foliage and sticks to make a crude-looking bed. She shrugged as she studied it; it was better than sleeping on the stone flooring.

She decided she needed to look for food. Knowing she had to be careful of the fruits and berries since they could be poisonous, she opted for meat instead. She needed something sharp for a weapon, though.

She smiled as she remembered a pile of nearby sticks she had seen. She could sharpen them with rocks until they shaped spears.  While she was making the weapons, she decided that a rabbit was good for dinner.

She moved quietly looking for her prey. It took a few hours, but she found what she was hunting for. As quiet as she could be, she raised her spear and brought it down heavily on its neck. The rabbit had no time to escape as it silently fell on its side, motionless.

She brought it back to her cave and used a sharp stone to skin off the fur and cut the meat into small portions. After that, she built a fire. Finally, deciding she cooked the meat enough, she set a few pieces on a flat stone to cool. When she took her first bite. “I need to find better meat,” Kana softly whispered before shrugging and taking another bite.  It was better than starving to death.

After eating, Kana decided to train after remembering how to fight from her instructor back home. She first started with push-ups to warm up her muscles. After doing sit-ups, she jogged. Her life became a routine day after day.

Kana accomplished many things; she fought bigger beasts such as wolves, hybrid tigers, huge rhinos, and even a drake. She got better at skinning and used the teeth and bones of the drake to make a far more decent spear. She made durable clothes with the rhino hide and drake scales. She also scouted the forest and the surrounding villages. The village of Ruseon was the closest to the forest.

The closest city was the capital of Westonia, home of the emperor; also known as the strongest citizen around.  She checked her appearance in the nearby river and saw how different she looked. Obviously, she was a cat person. But now, five years had passed, and she had decided it was time to leave the forest and move into the village to gather information.

But Somewhere Unknown …

“So, the new chosen one has finally decided to leave the forest.  Shadow one, watch her. If she poses a threat to our race, end her before she grows stronger."

“Yes, Master.” Came the reply.

“Looks like a new wave is starting, but only time will tell."
