Soon enough the light disappeared, and everyone could see. Yoruga was worried that something had happened to the little girl, but soon enough, he saw Kana. She was now wearing a black and white hoodie, with a blue and red skirt underneath. Her black and white patterned stockings reached her thighs.
“Where is the knife?” The old man asked. His question was answered when she moved her hand and a knife with appeared. The knife had changed its appearance and now had the logo of a cat with red and blue eyes. The handle was black with a silver blade.
“Amazing! You did it, youngster!” He exclaimed feeling happy for her to get her chosen weapon.
“From now on, my name is Kana Kuroko, the one who will become number one! “Kana exclaimed.
“I see. Well, you should look for a job in the capital. That would be the best place to start," Yoruga said calmly. The guard and Toru nodded in agreement.
“The capital … that's where I'll start my path,” Kana said before she started to walk away.
“Wait!” He calls out.
“What is it?” Kana asked.
“You should sleep here for tonight; it is already dark by now. Get some rest; then you can leave tomorrow.”
“Okay! Thanks for having me for the night,” she responded with a smile.
“Good, now let us have dinner. I am sure you and Toru are hungry.” They followed him into a room with a table while the guard left to go back to the gates. The old man sees one of the cooks and tells her to start cooking dinner.
As they sat at the table to sit, Kana heard her stomach rumble. She realized she was starving, now that food was mentioned.
“So, will you use a horse to get to the capital?” He asked while they waited for their meal.
“Hmm? No, I was going to walk.” Kana told him.
“Is that not too dangerous? There are many thieves on the roads; you will get robbed if you are not careful,” he said worriedly.
“It is good for training, there is more to fight when traveling on foot than on horseback,” Kana explained to the old man and the boy sitting silently across from her.
“Alright if you say so, but do be careful and do not let your guard down,” the old man said.
“Don’t worry, I won't,” Kana remarked as she promised it to herself also.
As they were talking, a cook placed the dinner on the table. "Time to dig in!" Toru exclaimed as he dug into the platers. Kana smiled and helped herself to the platers before silently stuffing her cheeks.
Later that night after retiring for bed, Kana snuggled under the blankets. Ahhh, finally a decent bed for once,” Kana says with a smile on her face.

"Finally, my real journey will begin. I will become number one. There will be no one that will be better than me." Kana thought as she slowly drifted asleep into the world of infinite dreams.
Next day …
Kana was woken up by Kuko. “Kana, time to wake up. We have a journey, remember?” She asked in Kana’s head.
“Yeah, yeah. I know. I’m getting up, okay? Geez, you are so naggy,” Kana said while getting up. After stretching, she went to look for the old man and the child.
After walking around, she saw him sitting on the bench outside. “Hello, I'm leaving now."
Yoruga looked into Kana’s eyes and said, “My grandson will be upset he missed you, but I understand you will want to get an early start. Good luck young one, remember to visit, you hear?”
“Yeah, I will. You can count on it!” Kana said, then started walking off.
“Geez that kid will worry me to no end,” Yoruga whispered to himself with a smile.
After walking around and finding Jokou, she said her goodbyes.
"All that is left is Toru," Kana thought. “Ahh, there he is!” Toru was talking with some kids in the neighbourhood.
“Toru! I am leaving now! Bye!” Kana shouted out.
“Huh? Kana, you are leaving already?" Toru said sadly at her leaving so soon.
“Don’t worry, I will come to visit in the future when I can,” Kana said to cheer him up.
“Good, you better not forget or I will go out and find you!” Toru said determinedly.
“Well, you better learn to fight first before you find a wolf again,” Kana replied, laughing.
“Uh, maybe I won't go out … hahaha, yeah,” Toru retorted embarrassed.
“Your choice,” Kana remarked as she started walking away. “This road should lead to the capital. There are a few villages on the way there, I might as well stop by them on the way,” Kana said to herself
Forty minutes later …
“Hmm? What was that sound.” Kana said, ready to defend herself.
She stared at the brush in front of her when a rabbit jumped out. “Oh, it was only a rabbit,” she remarked before summoning her knife and throwing it to the left to hit a tree branch.
“Ow! How did you know?” A voice screamed out from the branch.
“Looks like I was right,” Kana said smugly.
"Thank God Kuko can sense others near me or that would have been bad." Kana thought to herself. This person was pretty good; she did not notice him until Kuko suddenly told her someone was following her with hostile intent.
“Tell me who you are before I take your head as a decoration,” Kana said coldly. This person had bad intentions, so killing him wouldn't be a problem.
“I won’t tell you shit, you bi-” Before he finished his sentence, his arm was completely cut off. “Aaaaahh! Fuck! Fuck it hurts!” The man cursed, trying to bear the pain.
“You should have answered me," Kana said calmly. “Now, once again, who are you? If you answer, I may give you these herbs to numb the pain,” she said coldly.
“Okay, I got it! I am a bandit in these woods. I'm only a scout; I was gonna follow you and report back to my boss after you went to sleep. Please don’t kill me, I was only following orders, I swear!” The bandit pleaded desperately.
“Where is your base?” Kana asked.
“About fifteen minutes to the north, you will see a cave. Our entrance to our base is right there.” The bandit spilled all he knew.
“I see …” Kana then took his head off effortlessly. After wiping the blood from her knife, she proceeded to the north and soon found the cave.
“I won’t be so stupid as to fight all those bandits on my own,” Kana said to herself. She moved the rock and used the power of the knife to start a fire. Soon enough, coughing was heard before she blocked the entrance and waited.
Two hours later, she heard no other sounds. Going inside, she looted the corpses and killed any that survived, feeding her knife a little bit more power.
“This place is dangerous if I met bandits not too far from the village,” Kana nonchalantly said to herself as she started back on the road again.
“Well, there are a lot of bandits around these roads. You will not see them the closer you get to the capital," Kuko explained to Kana.
" Hey, Kuko? How strong is the emperor?” Kana asked hoping for an answer. “
“Well, in this world, people have certain ranks. The weakest to strongest are, Novice, Soldier, Fighter, Warrior, Knight, Grand Knight, Sage, Lord, King, Emperor. You are at the warrior level in power," Kuko explained in understandable terms.
“I see. So, he is that strong, huh?” Kana remarked, wondering when she would be that strong. “No matter, I will be better and stronger than all." She thought to herself.
Kana proceeded toward the next village of Kiluark to restock her food and look around
