Upon waking up Phenus was greeted by a certain familiar box.
≪ Poison Immunity Level X
≪ Paralysis Immunity Level X
≪Unusual Breath Level X
≪ Toxic Breath Level I
≪ Paralyzing Breath Level I
≪ Captive Glare Level I
"Toxic breath," she mumbled to herself, only to be shocked that she can finally speak. But what was Toxic and Paralyzing breath, they sound like awesome skills but how does she use them? She looked at the corpse of her sister and thought 'toxic breath'. The next moment she blew out a purple smog that enveloped the corpse. The smog made the corpse sizzle, the flesh melting as well as the very bones. The scene was gruesome but Phenus had seen similar stuff.
"Badass," with that Phenus stood up only to stumble forward, getting used to her new sense of gravity. Along with the evolution she felt a sense of vigor rush through her body making her feel like she could take on an army. Phenus looked around and noticed that a few of the Lizardlings from yesterday had evolved as well. But each one had the same green or brown scales and stood at about four feet. The males had subtle muscles whilst the females had developing breasts and subtle curves. Phenus was curious to see what she looked like, she knew that she had black scales and was the same height as the young Lizardmen. With the sound of footsteps Phenus knew that a certain Lizardman would be coming again.
"Little Ones, fol-" he stopped talking and immediately drew his sword upon looking at Phenus. After a second had past, his expression changed into that of confusion.
"Black One?" He asked Phenus which only earned a nod from her.
"First you want to make me fight to the death with all these damn lizards. Then you want to draw a sword when you see me the next day, just what exactly is your goal here?" Phenus asked a hint of annoyance in her voice. While she didn't particularly care for fighting with the lizards, why did he draw his sword on her the very next day?
"Sorry, Black One. Appearance change, cautious," he said sheathing his sword again. He looked at the group of new Lizardmen seeming to count them.
"All Little Ones, follow," he commanded and that they did. Phenus for obvious reasons wanted answers and talking to that dumb brute wasn't going to give her any. Walking through a series of tunnels led them to another room, this room bigger than the previous room. The room had to be at least one hundred feet wide, with a grand wooden chair at the other end of the room.
"Little Ones, go meet elder," with that the Lizardman left the room leaving them alone with the Lizardman sitting in the chair. The lizardman sitting in the chair had wrinkles visible on his scaly face and his body seemed as if it was falling apart. He in no way appeared fit like the Lizardman who took them there. He was fairly tall standing at six feet with visible muscles underneath his green scales. He gave off a stern air whilst, the lizardman in the chair gave off a more mellow air.
"Come young ones," the old Lizardman beckoned them over with his dainty hand. Phenus was the first to walk towards the old Lizardman and other Lizardmen followed her lead.
"Old man, I got some questions for you. I've been pretty damn compliant with you guys, drawing swords on me and making me fight to the death. So what the hell is up?" Phenus asked glaring at the old man who looked at Phenus with interest.
"You must be a unique one, to talk so fluently and be a Basilisk of all things. You remind me of myself in my younger days," the old Lizardman said, cracking a soft chuckle.
"Just answer me geezer. What the hell is with these blue boxes that always appear? How can I get rid of the 'ding' sound? Where am I and what do you want me from?" To this the old man only let out a soft sigh, giving a weak shoulder shrug.
"Very well, you might as well take a seat though since this explanation will be fairly long," he said rubbing his wrinkled brow. Phenus and the rest of the somewhat intelligent Lizardmen sat down, their eyes honed on the old lizard.
"Blue boxes are the gifts from the Gods that made this world. They gave us the gift of viewing our progress to see just how far we have went. The 'ding' sound is a notification that tells you that you have made progress. You can change that by saying or thinking 'settings'. You can view your overall skills, abilities, passive skills, and stats by saying or thinking 'status'.
Whenever your caretaker, Laken, was checking on you children today he was probably surprised to see a Basilisk in the mix. It's unheard of for a Lizardling to turn into a Basilisk in a day. That's why you're mighty special and why we request your assistance. Now let me explain our situation at hand and the reason why we had you fight.
Across the river lies the Gune tribe, which is a Goblin tribe. They had a population spike which led to them looking for more hunting grounds. So they crossed the river and took over some of our hunting spots. Their numbers are greater than ours so we can't oppose them, all we can do is make do with the food that we have. If we attack them then it may spark a war and we don't want to engage in a war where the odds are so against us," the old lizard seemed bitter when he was talking about the tribe's situation.
"About time I got an explanation. I guess that's fine for now," Phenus was happy, not because she got her answers but because she could finally stop that fucking 'ding' noise. Upon thinking 'settings' a blue screen appeared, and there she hit the 'off' button on the sound. Now it was time for her status.

Phenus stared at shock at her status window. Her stat points were unbelievable, and why did she have no name? First, she should distribute her stat points. When thinking that she wanted to put ten stat points into strength, her strength went up by ten. "How convenient," she thought, her lips curling into a smirk.

After distributing her stat points

After distributing her stats she looked around her and found all the other Lizardmen leaving. Seeing her suddenly realize that everyone is leaving her the old Lizard let out a soft chuckle.
"Black One, come here," he called to her, his hand beckoning her to come. That she did, walking towards the knowledgeable old lizard, perhaps he had some good information?
"I can tell that you are unique, one of a kind. I can tell that you shall do great things. That is why I shall bestow upon you a name. Usually a name is something people choose for themselves. But I shall give you a name, and with it may power flow into you," he stated a smile coming to his aged reptilian face.
"A name but I already have one of those you damn geezer," Phenus declared, her eyes narrowing at the chuckling reptile.
"No need to be so modest. Now, your name from hence forth shall be Juvena." With that her new name was Juvena.
Congratulations, you have earned the name Juvena
"Don't acknowledge it you fucking box," Juvena retorted inwardly, her eyes narrowing on that blue transparent box in front of her.
"Now Juvena, do you have any other questions you would like me to answer?" Asked the polite old lizard with a smile on his face.
"Can I view what these titles do? Also can I go out hunting without the others? I believe that they will slow me down," to this the old man didn't chuckle, he just rubbed his neck.
"You can, just think of what you want to view. But for you to go outside I want to see your stats. To show me them think 'show stats' or say it. I'll only be able to view your stats and not your skills. If you want to show me your whole status window that is fine as well." Juvena complied with the old lizard and thought about showing her stats to him.
The old lizard wore an astonished facial expression. It seemed as if he couldn't believe his very eyes. "My, my Juvena. You have more potential than I originally thought. Your stats are impossibly high for somebody who was just born yesterday. Thought they aren't as high as mine. Unlike humans, monsters can level as much as they want which is why it'll take some time for you to catch up with me. As a trade-off monsters are never born with 'gifts'. Gifts are something whether it be a title, ability, or skill that are given to people when they are born. These gifts can be anything, from super strength to super speed. Enough of my endless chatter though, you are free to hunt as you want. Just please do not anger any of the Goblins." With that Juvena turned and ran towards the exit. But she stopped a mere few feet from the exit and turned back to the old lizard.
"How the hell am I supposed to know the way out of the cave? Tell Luke or whatever his name is to get down here," Juvena demanded of the old lizard but he simply dismissed it with a chuckle.
"No worries young one I'll show you the way." With that they started to make their way out of the cave.

FINALLY! Honestly the tables were a nightmare, I thought they were a bit easier. But after playing with it some I got the hang of it. I'm sorry but this chapter was just to provide some information and to give a term that the series will rely on later. I'll include some action in the next chapter (but hopefully I will do a better job than with the action than in chapter 1).
If you guys think that she is too overpowered than say so and leave your thoughts in the comments. If you notice any errors or think it doesn't flow then do tell me and I'll rewrite the chapters. But I honestly think that it flows a lot better than the prologue or chapter 1(before the edit). I'll also show you the perks of her titles next chapter(n-not because I forgot to include it or anything).
Anyway, thanks for reading~.
