“So...this is the afterlife,” Phenus thought to himself, trying to move his encased body. “If this is the afterlife isn't some God supposed to meet me? Oh, I never believed in them in the first place. Does that mean I'm trapped in this pitch black void?” He asked himself, yet he only managed to make a sense of panic arise within him.

He sent out a small wave of mana and upon doing so he discovered he was trapped in an egg. He was trapped in an egg? Maybe even a shrinking egg? That would be a horrible death, which raises the question why didn't he think of this before. Maybe he would be revived and forced to repeat this, forever trapped in the Egg of Death.

Phenus felt how low his mana pool was. He was trapped and his mana pool was small, how much worse can this get? Fatigue suddenly hit him and he felt the urge to sleep, which he did. When Phenus woke up he noticed his mana pool had recovered and was larger. Perhaps he could expand his mana pool once more inside the Egg of Death and that is what he did.

Countless sleeps had past which made Phenus lose track of time. He judged by his mana pool alone, that he has been here for two weeks.  During that time countless possibilities still came to mind, one of those being reincarnation. But only time would tell what had happened to him.

After several more sleeps had past Phenus felt the sudden urge to get out, maybe it was his instincts kicking in telling him it was time to hatch? He tried headbutting the egg in an attempt to get out. Yet only a small crack was made, so he tried again but with grander results. Now with a large crack made he slid through the crack to the outside world. He couldn't see a thing, was he blind?

“A blue screen? Wait, Night vision," Phenus was caught off guard by the appearance of the blue screen. He tried to grasp it but couldn't, it was intangible? He moved back to the problem at hand and that is his vision, but to his dismay he could see his surroundings clear as day now. He was surrounded by....eggs(of death?). From what he could tell he was in a cave with a large exit forty feet away from him. Now Phenus moved his attention to himself, he was covered in a gooey liquid with black scales. Phenus widened his eyes in surprise, he had just now paid attention to his body. "Oh, fuck no," he wanted to deny it but that wouldn't change the fact that he was reborn a girl.

She was reborn as a female Lizardmen inside a cave with other Lizardmen. Putting aside her complaints she was happy that she was reincarnated instead of being sentenced to the Egg of Death. Phenus made her way towards the exit only to stop when a grown Lizardman walked in.

"Black One, no outside. You, strong, first stand. Wait till all stand," said the grown Lizardman, motioning towards the group of eggs. Phenus complied with the grown Lizardman since it wouldn't be wise to upset him. It was odd, she could tell that the grown Lizardman was a male off the bat, was it some kind of sixth sense? Phenus pushed that thought to the back of her head and took a seat away from the group of eggs. Now it was the waiting game.

Hours had past and all of her siblings were born. A few males had tried to come sit near her but with a hiss they moved on. "Fucking lizards," Phenus inwardly sighed, bored of waiting for that damn Lizardman. The thought of killing all them crossed her mind but she didn't want to risk upsetting the grown Lizardman. Soon enough he came back with a bag in hand. There was an inciting aroma coming from the bag, just what was in it? The Lizardman threw the bag in the middle of the room and a piece of raw meat flopped on the ground. Every Lizardling was hungry, and Phenus was no exception. Each Lizardling had their eyes on that bag.

"Fight, strong ones, get food. Weak ones, die," and with that the Lizardman left the room, commencing the fight. Phenus layered the tip of her claw in mana and charged towards the bag. One Lizardling tried to tackle her as she neared the bag, Phenus ended him quickly with a quick thrust to the head. She ignored the 'ding' sound and continued going towards the bag only for another Lizardling to charge her, this one trying to bite her. She easily side stepped and slammed her claw into it's side. She twisted her claw and removed it, leaving the Lizardling hissing in pain on the floor.

She was close to the bag but two more Lizardlings saw fit to stop her. When they got close enough she went for the one on the left and swept his legs from underneath him. With one down she moved to the other one and bit down on his leg. She ignored the annoying 'ding' that went off in her head. The lizard hissed in pain and hit Phenus' head forcing her to let go. Phenus backed up from the Lizardling, letting him fall clutching his injured leg. The other Lizardling stood up and charged at Phenus, it was preparing for a swipe. Phenus sidestepped and hit the back of its neck, forcing it to the ground. With its back exposed Phenus stabbed her claw in the back of the Lizardling, making it hiss in pain. She ignored the 'ding' and turned her attention to the bag now that the Lizardlings were dealt with.

There were only ten Lizardlings fighting with a few pieces of meat missing. She didn't bother to kill the Lizardlings that were hissing in pain, they can suffer for trying to attack her. She went to the bag and took a piece of meat. When Phenus went back to her corner another blue screen appeared.

"The blue boxes again? I wonder what they are for, I'll ask the Lizardman whenever I can finally speak," Phenus thought to herself passing the time away by toying with her mana. After an hour past Phenus still was hungry, that was when she spotted the corpse of her sister. She dragged the corpse back to her corner and laced her fangs with mana. She bit into the thigh of the corpse and started eating. Well, Phenus would rather eat a girl over a man any day.

Phenus received another blue box after she was done with her sister. Phenus heard the familiar sound of footsteps and the grown Lizardman came back.

"Good, all you, str-" the Lizardman was giving approving nods to the successful Lizardlings but when he looked at Phenus he was shocked.

"Black One, you eat sister?" He was staring in shock at Phenus and the corpse only a few feet away from her. To this Phenus gave a nod to the Lizardman, making him furrow his brow. The Lizardman didn't say anything else, he just turned and left. With that, Phenus' day came to an end. Just as she was about to go to sleep she saw another box.
