How do they usually start these things?... My name is Simon Dawn, and this is my origin story.

Let me start of by explaining the world I live in. it’s just like yours with only a slight deviation, ok not slight it’s a pretty big deviation. We have abilities that you would never dream of and some not so extraordinary. People started manifesting abilities around 50 years ago give or take a few years depending on information various countries are willing to make public knowledge. Some dumbass or a scientist of unprecedented genius was experimenting with dark matter when he set of an explosion that sent the energy particles all around the world blah blah blah I’m sure you can guess what happened next.

No you can’t? Wow…ok I’m not a scientist so I’m just going to put this in a way you can understand (the same way I use to make sense of all this). All we thought we knew about the laws of physics smarticle particles and atoms were wrong, ok more like almost right; we just didn’t know how everything works. We still don’t know but this is our best guess, the energy released into the world gained us access to our souls or the ability to subconsciously express our souls. Muscle heads got stronger, geeks got smarter and weirdoes just got weirder. This transformation usually occurs right around puberty so yeah you can expect to see a lot of entitled fourteen to sixteen year olds walking around like they own the place but no need to fear I’ll probably skip the part of my story with the mundane day to day idiocy that is high school .Ok not all of it. Some parts are important. I know what you’re thinking ”high school’s the best part” .you would think that teens with superpowers would fight every day in epic battles that destroyed the school and be too badass for the authorities to handle but no the government keeps us in check. You can mess around with non-ability users but the moment you take on another ability user the Enforcers will take you down with ease. The enforcers are ability users who have sworn loyalty to the world government and “Enforce” their laws. I know the name is derivative but don’t blame me blame the idiot who thought “THE ENFORCERS” sounded catchy enough that you remember who they are.

So if an enforcer when an enforcer catches you using your power against another ability user without permission you can pretty much expect to jail time. when governments around the world  realised that there where people with abilities the first thing they did was try to keep them under control, that didn’t work out the ability users quickly took over the their respective countries, decimated their opponents and formed a world government. Of course the process wasn’t as simple as I said there was bloodshed, chaos and a whole lot of others things but the overall change happened over a relatively short period of time. The world government then set up a cast system with ability users as first class citizens and “normal” people as their inferiors. believe me discrimination sucks and I’m not a fan of it but the people in charge of enforcing the law are scary bastards so don’t expect me to fight the world to make things better for little jimmy who lives down the street or maybe I will? Talking about all the stuffy laws and regulations the government made, they also made a system to classify powers.

There are a lot of classifications and levels to each power so I’ll give you all a basic summary: classifications of powers fall under these four categories

Scientists: The scientists are the known to be keepers of knowledge, they have scientific based powers and are able to achieve possibilities that defy the laws of logic and are able to discover incredible newfound knowledge on how almost everything works by the laws of nature and beyond. These are the guys who tell us why things are the way they are but I don’t think they understand the forces behind the inventions they build because not many scientists can replicate their work for mass production and the ones that can don’t have world changing inventions…okay maybe I’m underestimating them a little they did invent flying cars, cure almost all diseases and fix world hunger. Nah they still suck freaking bastards are pretentious as hell. I like to think I’m smart but when the top student in your class makes Einstein look dumb you can’t help but wonder why they don’t go to a separate college or something and I say college because they are smart enough to build devices in whatever field their soul is meant to specialize in right of the bat. I mean a lot of us had to struggle to reach the limits of our abilities with training but all they need is the right materials and bam someone’s shooting lasers out of crudely assembled guns. Damn I’m jealous.

Sorcerers: The sorcerers or wizards are the keepers of the magical arts that have a nearly endless supply of possibilities that are achieved by magical property's that are beyond an explanation of mere human logic. Anyone who uses magic is bound to be a weirdo but they pack a punch. Most magic type abilities are just as strange and vaguely explained as the scientists. The only difference between the two is that magic users express their powers through spells, potions, incantations and strange hand gestures. I heard that they are in contact with other worldly beings which can grant their chosen wizard secret techniques, I think they made it up so they sound more mysterious. Magic users are very solitary beings which only interact with others because they have to. Like scientists they fill most of the leading roles in society.

Spiritualists: The spiritualists are the ones who are spiritually connected to everything connected to the spiritual forces, in reality, the afterlife and beyond. If the description feels a bit lacking it should be. Spiritual abilities are really easy to mistake for a lot of the other categories as their overall effect may resemble that of another category. The only difference is that the medium being used is the world energy instead of your own soul energy, basically your soul messes with the universal laws in unpredictable ways. Spiritual ability users tend to be low key, relaxed and Zen. The fill various roles philosophical roles in society and prefer jobs like teaching, being an advisor or a psychologist]. They basically make sure everyone’s heads are screwed on tight.

Travellers: The travellers are the ones who travel throughout the world or universe and gather information, experience, and adventures and find new ways to see and know how almost everything works and know how to understand the differences of people. These guys are our scouts. They take us to unexplored universes and habitable worlds and there are even rumours of parallel earths. Without them and the scientist cooperation our society would’ve run out of resources ages ago.

Warrior: The Warriors are known to be fighters that fight in battles and are highly skilled in all combat skills and are the fearsome beings and have the potential to be the greatest weapons in the existence whether it is magical, scientific or otherwise. I always hated these guys in P.E. class. They are attractive, powerful charismatic and embody the power people crave to see. I scientists wizards and all the other categories can be flashy but something about watching a fist on face slug fest gets your blood boiling. Warriors have taken the role of celebrities in our society. There are coliseums around the world built for the purpose of displaying the vicious power of the brutes. They are our sports stars, movie stars and every kid’s dream power. Warriors range from selfish, self-centred and calculating to friendly selfless and stupid.

Bear in mind these are all just stereotypes not all categories act as stated above every individual has their own personality, I’m just giving you my view from experience after dealing with the various individuals I’ve come across.

Each category has a class assigned to it to measure its power level. Classes range from 1 being the weakest to 10 being the strongest. For example a class 1 warrior or warrior 1 can be capable of lifting a small car and a warrior 10 can destroy an island with a sneeze. Ok maybe I’m exaggerating a little bit but if you meet anyone class 8 and above you get out their way. Class 8 fights have been known to erase cities of the map.

Now that I’ve given you a basic introduction into the crazy world I call home it’s time for the fun to start!
