Salutations, dear reader.
I just approached these empty pages just to remind you that Joseph will die in The Third Chapter.
Now who is Joseph? We’ll need to know more about Joseph if we are to be invested in his death right?
That is a disgusting question. Why do we need an interesting trinket of a backstory for his life to be worth something? Is the end of an existence not important enough already?
But then again, I understand your situation. Joseph is not real, he does not exist. This is not an end of a being, but an end of an idea. It’s just a name I made up - a great name, if I may add. His life has no value, wait no - his life has imaginary value.
When our favourite characters die, we feel a little sad, perhaps even a part of us dies.
Well, not me, but I feel like from what I’ve heard, many Joseph fans out there will be crying into their pillows tonight.
Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author's consent. Report any sightings.
It’s the values we give to these imaginary people, to pixels and ink on a page that allow the illusion of importance to occur.
So far, Joseph has no value. We won’t feel anything, we don’t care about him. Hell, we haven't even seen him.
However, you rarely see in a book, rather, you see outside a book. To delude yourself fantastic imageries, impossible stories.
They inspire us, entertain us and even teach us.
Well, but not me of course. I hate books.
Therefore, we can say that delusions do have value.
Hm.
Let me tell you a little bit about Joseph then.
> Joseph (/ˈdɪkɪnz/; 7 February 1812 – 9 June 1870) was an English writer and social critic who created some of the world's best-known fictional characters, and is regarded by many as the greatest novelist of the Victorian era.[1] His works enjoyed unprecedented popularity during his lifetime and, by the 20th century, critics and scholars had recognized him as a literary genius. His novels and short stories are widely read today.[2][3]
Are you satisfied now?
“Why are you doing all this?” you may ask. To that, I say, “This is a plea”.
We are nearing the end of the chapter, and I am running out of time - and oxygen. It's a bit difficult to speak without breathing. I will come back next chapter, but please,
Do not read The Third Chapter.
