Chapter 3.5: My Genius Little Brother

Sou’s POV

Yahoo!

My name is Yukimura Souji and I am Sei’s onii-chan.

As you all can guess, I LOVE Sei so much that I’m scared that he will someday leave us for good.

I remember the day when Sei was born, I was in high spirit that day and with me is my bestfriend, Subaru Ryota. That day mom and Eclaire-san is both on labor, dad and Rintarou-san are with them. Actually the two of them is supposed to give birth in a separate room but mom said that she wants Eclaire-san to be with her. As you all know the saying, you can mess with a drunk but never mess with a woman in labor. Since the doctor knows that he will see hell if he disobeyed, he ordered the nurses to prepare the big emergency room for them.

Anyway we waited for almost 14 hours outside the ER and by the time that the doctor came out, I can hear mom’s crying voice along with dad’s furious voice. Judging from their cries of agony we were preparing for the worst news and yet just before the doctor opens his mouth new cries erupted inside the room. This time the voices became more joyous and alive.

A nurse from the inside went out and whispers something to the doctor. The shocked look attached to his face clearly told us that a miracle just happened. After that eventful day, Sei’s condition is being monitored continuously and even until now a daily report of his health is a must because the doctor said that his body might collapse again if it is not thoroughly monitored.

Well it’s been 5 years since that day and now our little Sei is turning 6 soon along with Chika. Right now we’re in the game room, killing time and I’m asking Ryo about the perfect gift to give Sei and Chika.

“Hey Ryo…” (Sou)

“What is it Sou-sama?” (Ryo)

“What do you- *bang*” (Sou)

When I was about to ask the door slam open with Sei standing at the door.

“You startled me Sei. What’s wrong? Do you need something?” (Sou)

“Music. Help.” (Sei)

Sei pulls out a CD. I think it was one of mom’s collections of Disney soundtrack, I then look at Ryo and he too seems to understand what Sei wants to say.

“Sei-sama, do you want to play this song?” (Ryo)

“Un! Band!” (Sei)

“So you want to make a band and play this song? Is that it Sei?” (Sou)

“Un! Gift Chika” (Sei)

“Ah, I see… so it’s a birthday gift for Chika…” (Sou)

“We don’t mind helping but who will be the vocals and guitar? As you know, Sou-sama isn’t much of a singer and neither am I but I can play the drums and Sou-sama with the base…” (Ryo)

“Me. Guitar. Sing.” (Sei)

“Eh? Sei’s going to play the guitar? I have no doubts in you singing but can you do it? Playing the guitar I mean” (Sou)

“Un! Can Do” (Sei)

“Well since Sei-sama have said it then let’s believe in him but first we should buy a guitar that would fit you” (Ryo)

“I’ll handle that” (Sou)

“Ari-tou So-nii, Yo-nii” (Sei)

After that, I pulled out my phone and call a friend of dad that’s very good with musical instruments and order a specially made guitar for Sei. As I finish the call, I suddenly remembered that Sei said that he can play the guitar so I ask Ryo about it.

“Hey Ryo, how did Sei know how to play a guitar?” (Sou)

“Eh” (Ryo)

“I mean he’s only 5 years old, turning six soon…” (Sou)

The two of us remain silent and could only look at each other.

I know that my little brother is a genius but I’m still a bit unsure about the situation. Ryo felt my uneasiness so he pats my head for reassurance.

 “Sou-sama whether where Sei-sama learns how to play doesn’t matter since at the end of the day Sei-sama will still be the same and nothing will change that” (Ryo)

“un… okay, it is as you said Ryo. Whatever Sei does in the end he will still be Sei, my cute little brother” (Sou)

“That’s right, so now we better prepare ourselves” (Ryo)

“Hahahaha… Yeah, let’s go Ryo better not to disappoint my little brother” (Sou)

But what I didn’t expect is that my cute little Sei will turn out to be a one hell of a genius.
