Chapter 5:Chapter 5: "Gateway to the Depths"

(An elevator leads to a hidden world)

in the meantime

"P3"

In a large, wide cave that does not resemble any normal cave, and the space in it is very wide. If we look from afar, there is an area that looks like a village or a city with buildings and streets, but inside the cave. On the other hand, Joey, Chris, and Rhodri stand in shock at the sight. Chris says loudly: How the hell did we get here!!!!!!

15 minutes ago

The three guys got off the old bus that creaked with every movement. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation, as they had finally arrived at their station, the place that would change the course of their lives forever.

**Joey**, the natural leader of the group, was holding Gary's old notebook in his hands, like a world treasure. “We are very close to the mark in the notebook,” he said in an excited voice, examining the worn pages with eyes searching for secrets. He paused for a moment, looked at the notebook carefully, then continued his way with confident steps towards the narrow alley that was supposed to be the scene of their great discovery.

**Chris**, with curious eyes, looked into the alley but found nothing but piled up trash bags, dilapidated waste containers, and random graffiti on the walls. “So this is what we've been looking for since this morning? An alley full of junk?” he said in a clear tone of mockery. But Joey, who did not lose hope, replied confidently: "Don't rush, man. You have to look carefully. Even the always obvious things we can't see unless we look closely."

As the two searched earnestly, **Rhodri**, the skeptical mind of the group, stood apart from them, watching silently as he contemplated the significance of his presence here. Chris, noticing his silence, approached him and asked urgently: “Are you going to stand there or help us search?” Rhodri responded calmly and coldly: “What do I care about the results of your research? You know that I came here to prove that everything Slim saw were hallucinations about reptilian men, robots, or the like.”

Chris, who was feeling frustrated by Rhodri's response, looked him straight in the eyes and said: “You're right, if you don't believe us then it's none of my business, but at least help us look.” Rhodri finally agreed, giving them just ten minutes before he left.

And at that moment, before they even started searching, the calm was interrupted by Joey's voice, as he shouted with all his might: "Finally found her!", as if he had discovered the secret that would change everything.

Chris's hurried footsteps echo on the stone floor. "Found what?!" He shouts excitedly, his eyes shining with intense curiosity.

Joey, with a keen eye, points to the mark etched on the wall. "Look at this!" He says, tracing the symbols with his finger—one long, another very short, and a third wide. "Can't you see? There's something strange…"

Rhodri, with a wrinkle of confusion on his brow, moves closer. “The symbol in the notebook looks like a single word, or perhaps a Chinese character... but these marks are choppy, broken up into parts.”

Chris, after deep contemplation, nods in agreement. “It's completely different.”

Joey, in an automatic motion, reaches out and touches the symbols on the wall, and they move! It rotates in complex circular movements, as if it were part of an ancient mechanism. “So, that's how it works...” Chris mutters in amazement.

“It seems to follow a pattern...” Rhodri mused, trying to arrange the symbols. “Maybe if we move it right, it will look like our symbol.”

Joey, excitedly, tries to arrange the symbols, but each attempt makes things more complicated. Chris, frustration showing on his face, sighs. “Man, it looks like you messed things up even more than they already were.”

Rhodri, with the confidence of an expert, approaches Joey and extends his hand. “Give me the notebook.” He receives the notebook from Joey and says, "I'm a little good at solving puzzles, let me take a look."

Chris, with a skeptical smile, asks him, "What kind of puzzle?" Rhodri simply answers, “Crossword.”

Chris smiles mockingly, but before he can voice his doubts, Rhodri proudly announces, “I solved it!” Joey applauds him, "So perfect!" Chris stood in shock, "How did you do it?!"

**Joey** and his friends look at the symbols engraved on the wall, the symbols that resemble those in the notebook. Mystery surrounds the ancient palace, and mysteries are slowly unfolding before them. Is this place the answer they were looking for?

Suddenly, the wall began to shake inexplicably. The ancient symbols come to life, and the wall slowly opens in front of them. The three step back in amazement and awe, but they cannot believe what they are seeing. The wall reveals a secret entrance, and stairs extend down.

In the pitch black, where the hand couldn't be seen in front of the face, Joey stood, his limbs shaking but trying to look composed. With a cracking voice, trying to hide his fear, he said to his comrades: “Don’t be afraid, it’s just a doorway that leads us down to the ground, ha-ha!” But Chris, who was standing next to him, couldn't hold back his sarcastic laughter as he shouted at Joey: "Yes, down, sure! But where to after that, my wise man?"

Joey breathed deeply, trying to regain control of his nerves, and replied with feigned confidence: “If we dare to go down there, maybe we will discover the secrets that the depths hide, right?”

But Chris, who seemed to be tired of the constant adventures, said in a frustrated tone: “Enough, Joey, that's enough! We've spent the whole day tracking down mysteries and strange things. It's time to go back.” Chris reached out to grab Joey's shirt, trying to pull him away from the scary entrance, but Joey, with the skill of a stray cat, slipped out of his grip and headed back toward the entrance, driven by an irresistible curiosity and desire to discover what the darkness hid.

Joey stood in the doorway, determination burning in his eyes, and said in a decisive voice, "If you don't want to come, I'll go alone." But Chris, who was standing behind him, grabbed his shirt tightly and said in a frustrated tone: “I have no choice, I will accompany you. At least if we get lost, you won’t be alone.” Then Chris turned to Rhodri, and asked him in a somewhat hopeful tone: “And you, will you come with us...?” But before he could finish his sentence, Rhodri ran away towards the end of the alley, but Chris did not hesitate to chase him, caught him again, and brought him back to the group.

Now, the three of them are descending the stairs, and they're making their way down, Joey leading them as the dim light of his phone lights the way. Chris, still holding Rodri by the shirt, follows with hesitant steps. As they continued their descent, the lights suddenly turned on on both sides of the stairs, giving them light that cut through the darkness of the path to the end.

As Joey, Chris, and Rhodri reach the end of the stairs, they find themselves in a dark and dusty place. The walls are covered in dust, and words written on the wall indicate the year 84. Joey stands and looks around, trying to make sense of his surroundings. Rhodri examines the place carefully, and says to Chris: “Can you let me go?” Chris responds sarcastically: "Oh, here you go again." Rhodri wanders into the alley, and Chris comments: "There seems to be nothing here, as I expected." Joey points to a metal door on the other side of the stairs. Rhodri goes to the door first, then Joey looks at him. The door is covered in rust and it looks like it won't open easily. Rhodri says in frustration: “Damn, this door is stuck in rust, it won’t open easily.” "Let's try opening it together this time," Joey suggests. The three work together to open the door forcefully, and after joint attempts and efforts, they finally succeed in opening it. Dust spreads in the air, and they enter the room. The room is made entirely of iron, and a lamp hangs from the ceiling. “This room is made entirely of iron,” Joey says. "Yes, and I also don't feel comfortable because of the strange smell that this place smells of danger," Rhodri agrees.

Let's start by improving the narration and adding details to make the story more exciting and professional:

Chris stood in the middle of the vast room, astonishment on his features. “Are these just storage rooms?” He asked in a surprised voice. “It's incredibly spacious!” He added, examining their walls. Suddenly, a lift handle mounted on the brick wall caught his attention. "what the hell?" Chris said in a questioning voice, carefully holding the handle, trying to lower it down.

But Joey, who was standing a few steps away, noticed something strange. "Chris, stop!" He shouted loudly, trying to keep from turning the handle. But it was too late, Chris had already lowered the handle. The place was quiet for a second, then suddenly, the sounds of gears moving came from above the room. Everyone felt that something was definitely going to happen.

"Damn your naivety!" Rhodri shouted at Chris, and at that moment, the room shook violently. Everyone fell to the ground, trying to hold themselves together without understanding what was happening. The room began to make strange noises, like a loud bell ringing, and Joey noticed that they began to fly through the room as if gravity had disappeared.

"It's not a room...it's an elevator!" Rhodri suddenly realized, feeling the elevator going down quickly. He told everyone what he discovered, but there was nothing they could do in this situation. Joey quickly moved to the side of the elevator, grabbed the door tightly and called out to Chris and Rodri.

Rhodri responded quickly, deftly orienting his body with his feet on the wall and his face towards Joey. He then launched himself into the air with his feet towards Joey, taking advantage of the low gravity in case he fell. Rhodri reached Joey, while Chris was still floating in place, unable to orient himself as Rhodri had done.

The elevator approached the ground quickly, and Chris was still out of Joey's reach. He closed his eyes, surrendering to reality, but in a desperate moment, Joey managed to grab his hand. With the help of Rhodri, who pulled Joey off his feet, the three of them managed to hold on to the corner of the elevator tightly until they reached the ground...?

```
With a violent landing, the elevator hit the ground, causing the outer door to separate from its hinges due to the severe impact. Clouds of smoke and dust rose from inside the elevator, as if a huge explosion had occurred inside it. However, in an amazing way, everyone got out completely safely, unharmed.
**at present**
The three of them, Chris, Rhodri, and Joey, stood staring at the broken elevator they had just been trapped inside. Chris had a look of shock and fear on his face. "Man, we almost died! Do any of you realize that?" He said in a trembling voice. Rhodri responded with an angry shout: “Yes, we almost died there, but let me remember... who was it because of?” "Calm down, man," Joey interrupted in a calm, reassuring voice. "Look on the bright side. We're still okay, right?"
.
"Yes, we're fine, but how do we get back up now?" Rhodri asked in a tense tone. Chris, who was trying to regain his composure, responded: "Let's forget about the elevator for a moment and focus on where we are right now. Where the hell are we?"
Joey stood, scanning the atmosphere around them, and quickly realized that they were inside a huge cave. It was no ordinary cave, but it was incredibly spacious, and even Rodri stood in awe at the sight unfolding before them. Joey, who couldn't believe his eyes, approached Rhodri and whispered: "How did we end up here?"
Chris noticed blue grasses sparkling on the ground, making the cave illuminated with a dim light. "Look over there!" Joey exclaimed in admiration, pointing to the other side of the cave where many lights seemed to be shining. “This place is really suspicious.” Rhodri added thoughtfully.
Chris looked at the place they were pointing at, and realized that it wasn't just lights, it looked like a village or city inside the cave. “Looks like falling out of the elevator affected your brain!” Rhodri joked, but this time Joey agreed with Chris. After staring carefully, Rhodri realized with shock that what they said was true. “My eyes are unbelievable... Is this real?” he asked in amazement.
"Indeed, isn't that strange? How could a city exist inside a cave? It doesn't make sense." Joey said, then was silent for a moment before announcing that he wanted to go there. Chris interrupted, "Are you crazy? We don't even know if this is a real city or not, and even if it was, what could you be doing down here underground?"
You're right, but I still want to go there. There's no point in staying here, and even if we decide to go back, we can't because the elevator is broken." Joey insisted, and Rhodri agreed with him.
"Let's take a moment and think carefully before we go there." Chris said, but Joey and Rodri didn't listen to him and headed towards the city. "Damn it, you're the one who's going to kill me over there!" Chris shouted angrily after them.
---
After a long journey full of tension and anticipation, Chris and his companions finally arrive in the mysterious city. The city was very similar to human cities, but with minute details that betrayed an unmistakable strangeness. The buildings were shining with bright colors not seen in our world, and the surrounding sounds carried musical tones that the three had never heard before.
They entered the city, looking around with great curiosity. The streets were crowded with people, or so it seemed at first glance. But suddenly, Chris froze, his gaze turning into an expression of astonishment and shock. Heavy sweat trickled down his forehead as he violently pulled Joey and Rodri into a dark corner.
“Listen to me carefully,” Chris whispered, his voice cracking, “This place...there are no humans. We have to go back right away!”
But before Rhodri could respond to Chris's crazy words, a human-like being appeared from around the corner, but its skin was gray and its limbs were of disproportionate length. The being completely ignored them, leaving them dazed and terrified.
Joey, with his heart almost jumping out of his chest, looked around the corner to see the street. What he saw made his blood freeze in his veins. Everyone in the street was not human, but other beings entirely, beings from another world.
