Chapter 4: "The Survival Race"

Bigger than you can imagine, part two

A fierce confrontation against Hudson

At a crucial moment

time nearly stopped as Luther and Hudson headed toward the imminent danger. Amy stood, her face calm, and said in a low voice, "I didn't want to use this device here, but we have no other choice." From her suitcase built into her uniform, she took out an electronic ball that shone with a dim light. She looked at them and added, “Take cover.” With a calculated move, she threw the ball towards the wall which exploded with thunderous force, rumbling through the entire neighborhood.

A wide gap opened in the wall, and Amy whispered urgently: “Let’s get out of this place quickly before they catch you.” With the agility of a cat, Amy jumped through the gap, followed by successive jumps for Alex, Jeremiah, and Slim, as their four bodies plummeted from the second floor to land in a dumpster filled with bags.

Jeremiah laughed happily as he said, “Don’t you see the beauty of these garbage containers?” Then, they crept out, away from the curious eyes of the staff. Luther said to Hudson in a tense tone, “You have to catch them quickly, I can't put on a face like that.” With a confident leap, Hudson joined them in the container, which shattered under the weight of his heavy fall.

As they headed towards the next alley, Hudson soon began to chase them at a rapid pace. Meanwhile, the four of them were running between the alleys at lightning speed, and Alex asked Amy with increasing curiosity: “What were you doing there?” Amy didn't stop running as she answered, "The real question is, what were you doing?"

"We've been investigating these people for a while," he answered nervously. Amy nodded and said, "I knew that, but I didn't expect you to come this far."

Hudson approached them, quickening his steps until he almost caught Slim, but they all made it to the main road, leaving Hudson behind at the entrance to the alley, staring at them with eyes glowing red.

---

They run on the road where many cars pass with extreme caution, while there is a car driving fast on the road, and Jeremiah was not paying attention to it. The car is about to collide with him, but it stops at the last moment. Jeremiah screams, thinking that it has collided with him. The driver gets out of the car. He shouts at them and it turns out that it is Dave who was driving the car. Alex is surprised and says that it is indeed you, and from afar Hudson runs to them at a frightening speed. Alex shouts to Dave, saying, “Open the car door quickly.” He answers him, “What are you saying?” Alex and the rest enter the car, where they all scream. Lee David, go now. David did not understand anything from the rearview mirror of the car that there was a man in a suit following them. Then he started the car's engine and drove forward, and Hudson did not continue to catch up with them while he was completely behind the car.

The situation escalates when Dave almost crashes into another car, and Alex is surprised when he looks out the back window to find that Hudson is no longer chasing them. “Guys, I guess he's not following us anymore…” Chris asks with possible relief, but the silence is interrupted by a voice coming from the roof of the car.

The tension turns to terror when Hudson reaches through the roof of the car, trying to grab someone. Dave shouts as he clings to the steering wheel, declaring that the car is a loan and he hasn't finished paying for it yet. Hudson clings to the roof of the car forcefully, tearing holes in it.

In a moment of desperation, Dave closes his eyes and is silent for a few seconds, then shouts in a strong voice: “You gotta hold on tight!” The passengers did not understand what Dave intended, but they trusted him. Suddenly and unexpectedly, Dave presses the brakes very hard, causing the tires to rub against the ground forcefully, and thick smoke rises, covering the street like a curtain of white clouds.

---

The moment the car stopped suddenly and dangerously, breaths were suspended and hearts were beating hard. The street crowded with cars turns into the scene of an unparalleled battle. Hudson, who appears to have fallen dead, returns from the dead like a phoenix rising from his ashes. His body, partially disfigured from the violent fall, reveals robotic parts that gleam under the blazing lights of lampposts in the shadows of the night, revealing his true nature.

Hudson's bloodshot eyes held a look of anger and vengeance, and he now stood far in the car's path, looking at the terrified passengers through the windshield. The street is silent, and everyone holds their breath, wondering about his mysterious identity. Is he a robot, a cyborg, or a war machine created by the government?

Amy, her hands trembling, places her hand on Dave's shoulder, yelling at him to move before Hudson is on top of them. Dave, overwhelmed by hesitation and fear, tries to find the courage to press the gas pedal. "What...no, I can't do this!" He shouts, but time is running out.

Hudson, with his heavy and frantic steps, advances towards them with lightning speed. Dave, in a moment of desperation, finally decides to take action. “Damn, I'll regret this later!” Whispering to himself, he pushes the car forward at 130 kilometers per hour, heading towards Hudson, who shows no sign of stopping.

The distance between them shrinks, and the tension increases. Everyone thinks the collision is inevitable, but at the last moment, Hudson gracefully jumps over the car, landing heavily on the hood. Now, as he stood there, looking at Dave and Amy and Jeremiah, their blood ran cold, the entire street fell silent. Hudson, the robot, prepares to attack.

----

Amid Jeremiah's loud screams as he rushes toward the back seats, the situation escalates to a climax. Hudson, with a tight fist, throws a powerful punch at David, but misses and the punch hits the back headrest, leaving a dazed David who narrowly escapes.

David, driving the car skillfully, changes course with a sudden sideways maneuver on the road, while Hudson, standing on the hood, clings to the car with all his might. The speed picks up and the adrenaline rushes as Dave takes the car down a major highway that winds through the boroughs of Brooklyn, hitting speeds of 156 kilometers per hour.

Slim, his voice tense and full of fear, urges David to slow down, but Amy responds confidently, asserting that Dave has a plan to get rid of Hudson and that everyone should not distract him.

Hudson, looking at David with blazing eyes, realizes that Dave is going to try to make a sudden stop again. In an attempt to thwart Dave's plan, Hudson slams his left hand into the windshield, holding it tight. He slowly raises his right hand, clenching his fist, preparing to deliver a powerful blow.

Dave, driving the car with intense concentration, whispers to himself that he must not make a mistake. However, at that crucial moment, Hudson interrupts him with a punch directed at him. In a quick moment, Amy steps in and points the dagger she has at Hudson's neck.

The dagger stabs into Hudson's neck, but he stays put, clinging tightly to the windshield. In a cracking, defiant voice, Hudson declares that this is the end and that they will all die here and now. David, in direct confrontation with Hudson, struggles with all his might, holding the steering wheel.

----

The moment David's eyes catch the end of the road, his pulse quickens and his pupils dilate. Adrenaline coursed through his veins as he realized they were about to reach a sharp curve that sloped dangerously downward, threatening to swallow any car that dared challenge him at that insane speed. Time freezes for a moment and David shouts above the roar of the engine, “This is our chance!”

This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

As the car approaches the edge, David slams on the brakes with all his might, making a screech that pierces the silence of the night. He performs a carefully calculated side-slide maneuver, and the car teeters on the edge of the cliff, leaving a cloud of smoke in its wake. The passengers cling with all their might, fear dancing in their eyes.

Hudson, clinging to the hood, feels the centrifugal force increasing frighteningly. He tries hard to grab the windshield, but his hand slips away as he floats through the air, like a rag doll being tossed around by the wind. It crashes into the roadblock with resounding force, shattering it into fragments.

At that crucial moment, the car deviated slightly from its path, colliding with the barrier and Hudson at the same time. The body is crushed and crushed between the steel and concrete, then flies over the barrier, leaving a bloody trail in its wake. Hudson falls from the height of the bridge to the street below, where life stops for a moment, and the breaths gather in the chests of viewers.

(And a few minutes later)

After a dangerous escape from certain death, David carefully slows the car down, and his heartbeat slows with every passing moment. He breathes a sigh of relief and asks Slim in a voice that's almost a whisper, "Will you stop following us?" He looks in the rearview mirror cautiously.

Alex, scanning the road from the backseat, answers with shaky confidence, "No...it's been gone since the curve. Looks like we're safe now." But before everyone can relax, Slim breaks the silence with a trembling voice, "Maybe... maybe he's on top of the car again."

David's grip on the steering wheel tightens, and he and Jeremiah's bodies shudder at the thought. But Amy, in a reassuring tone as she looks out the window, says, "Don't worry, we got rid of him. He couldn't come after us even if he wanted to."

Jeremiah sighs in relief and says with a tired smile, "Oh, I knew that idiot wouldn't catch us... right, Slim?" "Yes, yes, you're right," Slim replies with a looming smile.

The road continues ahead of them, stretching out into the darkness like a ribbon of hope and salvation, the echoes of the ferocious chase fading away in the wind that blows outside the closed windows. And in these quiet moments, they each begin to comprehend the stark truth: they have only survived for a moment.

----

Thus, after a night full of chases and dangerous turns, David and his companions arrive at 52nd Street, where they stop in their old car bearing traces of adventure. David looks at his comrades and says in a decisive tone, "Now, everyone, get out of the car. We've had enough trouble tonight."

Slim and Jeremiah dismount first, followed by Amy and Alex. Slim looks at David with admiration and says, "You're a good driver, you know that? You managed to run away from that crazy robot in your old car like you were in a car race." David laughs at Slim's words and replies, "The funny thing is that I don't have a driver's license, but I seem to have done well there. But, will that be enough for them?"

Jeremiah asks curiously, leaning his head on his shoulder, “Enough for whom exactly?” David laughs and replies, "Oh, absolutely no one, haha!" Jeremiah replies, "Well, never mind. I can't wait to see Rhodri's looks when we tell him what happened tomorrow." Slim wonders, “Will he really believe us?” Jeremiah looks at him with a disappointed expression and says, "You're right, he's a stubborn person and won't believe us easily."

On the other hand, Amy walks away from everyone without saying anything, but Alex catches up with her calling, “Stop, where are you going?” Amy looks at him coldly and disgusted and replies, "To my house, sure, or do you want to give me a ride?" Alex puts his hand behind his head and laughs, "I didn't mean that. What I meant was, what were you doing there? I mean, when we found you inside the company?"

Amy simply answers, "The same reason you came there." Alex asks her, "You mean for information?" Amy replies, "Yes, you can consider it the same thing, but I'm not stupid enough to break into a building over some stupid rumor like you. I was just gathering information for my school essays."

Alex says, "Okay, so that's it...may I have a request?" You look at him and say, "What do you want?" Alex answers, "Can you not tell anyone about what happened tonight? Because we don't want other people interfering in what we're doing, and also because it will be very annoying later." Amy replies as she continues, "Even if I told someone, who would believe me in the end?"

Alex tells her, "You're right about that." Amy turns away from him and says, "Okay, let's meet another time, bye." Alex responds, “See you.” Then, Amy moves on and disappears down the road, leaving behind a night she will never forget.

----

And in the dark streets of the city, where dim lights dance on the faces of passers-by, Alex returns quickly to Jeremiah and Selim, anxiety squeezing his heart. Slim asks in a tense tone, “Is **Amy** gone...?” Alex answers in a choked voice, "Yes, she just left. Did you have a message for her?" Salim's face turns red, and he stammers, "No, no... it's just... did you ask about me?"

At that moment, Jeremiah grabs Slim's shoulder, approaching him with confident steps, "Dude, are you serious about this? Haha...don't tell me you're a fan..." Before he can finish his sentence, Slim puts his hand on Jeremiah's mouth forcefully. , trying to silence him.

From inside his car, **Dave** watches the scene with withered eyes, wondering what the reason for the dispute that suddenly broke out between the two friends. He sighed deeply, "What's wrong with them now? Weren't they getting along a moment ago?" Alex answers him in a neutral tone, "I don't know either, and I don't want to know."

Alex examines the old car Dave was driving, and it looks like it's about to fall apart. “Will your car be okay?” He asks him curiously. Dave laughs confidently, “Don't worry, this powerful **Jaguar XJ 12**, will never let me down.”

Alex looks at the car suspiciously, "If it's so old, can you give me a ride home? It's getting late." Dave firmly refuses, "Don't even think about it. Your house is only three blocks away. Take a walk, the fresh air will do you good."

Dave starts the car's engine, and it makes strange noises, but it still runs. He turns to Alex and starts waving, "So, bye!" He drives his car quickly, and clouds of thick smoke come out of it.

Alex mumbles to himself, "Then I don't have a choice, I'll go with you two." Salim asked in a reprimanding tone, “Would you have gone with him and left us here alone?” Alex answers truthfully, "Yes, but I failed at that too. Come on, let's go, guys." Alex follows them, while Slim and Jeremiah are still chatting excitedly.

Currently and at this time

**Amy** follows her path in the dark, the deserted streets echoing with her hasty steps. The stars are twinkling in the sky, but she doesn't pay attention to them, her mind is occupied with her secret mission. Her smart watch rings again, and she presses the hidden button, turning the watch into an advanced communication device.

"Yes, yes, I'm coming. I've just finished. Yes, I've gathered a lot of information. I'll send it to you now, so please don't rush me."

The voice coming from the watch seemed tense, “Yes, I have received the information. I see here that the delivery time for the goods will be at midnight.”

Amy answered with a firm voice, "Yes, I know. We have to act quickly, because we don't know what will happen if they hand over those stones to them."

“You're right…” the voice says, “I'll tell the codes to move quickly before the delivery, because we're running out of time.”

“Please hurry.” Amy said in a tone that carried concern and determination, then she closed the clock and continued on her way, knowing that every minute that passed could change the fate of the world.

Excitement and suspense creep into the story with every step Amy takes and every word she speaks. The clock is ticking, the mission awaits, and the night hides secrets that could change the course of events forever.

----

And in the meantime

In the dark corners of the city, where fate hides among the shadows of the night, a man in a black suit walks, followed by two stern-faced guards. Their footsteps echo through the empty streets, and the cats' eyes sparkle like jewels lurking in the darkness.

The man suddenly stops and bends down to examine the traces of debris scattered on the ground. He follows the broken parts until he finds a detached robotic arm, with small fiery sparks flying from it. He follows the trail until he reaches a dark corner of the street, where he discovers **Hudson**, the miraculous robot, who miraculously escaped the destruction.

"I guess you failed your mission, **Employee No.246**, didn't you?" The man says in a tone that contains sarcasm and rebuke. Hudson, crippled and injured, tries to get up with his eyes flashing red, but falls again, unable to move, pathetic.

“Did those little rats run away from you?” The man continues his questioning, his voice changing as the anger builds. "**Arthur** informed me that some rats have broken into your branch and stolen some important data, and what's worse, they've escaped your hands."

Before the guards can execute Hudson, a mysterious voice breaks the silence, demanding that the clowning stop. **Crypto Q7** intervenes, declaring that he has come to prevent Hudson's exile at the order of the Prime Order. He reveals that Arthur has informed the Main Branch of Hudson's success in the mission to deliver the Moonstones, a mission vital to the Company after a long struggle with the Purple Dragons.

Crypto orders Hudson to be transferred to a rehabilitation unit, and announces that he will take care of the escaped rats, promising that they will have fun. His voice disappears into the alley, leaving the guards confused.

The story continues, and the threads are intertwined in a game of fate and intrigue, where each character carries secrets that may change the balance of power in a world dominated by secrets.
