Chapter 2

I wake up in a field. I feel… I feel weird. I feel taller, stronger, and highly durable. But most of all I feel that I’ve unlocked something new, that I’m fully charged and ready to do something I couldn’t do before. I feel mystical. I look around me and see the usual stuff you see in a field: a few trees standing in the background, 4 wild bunnies chasing each other around and grazing, a small pond not too far away, a massive human-like ferret and a small human-like creature with stubby legs lying next to the ferret- wait what? I close and open my eyes but they’re still there.

Wait a second, are those my friends? And if so, have we all become something we weren’t before? I run over to the pond and bend over to see my reflection. Instead of seeing my usual human face, I see a lizard like face, but a longer mouth, silver scales and almost dragon like. I’ve also got two small stubs’ that probably resemble horns which are grey. I stand back up and begin to look at the clothing I’m wearing: a long-sleeved shirt that’s a dark blue tint and poufy pants that have black color. I’m not looking bad, if I can say so myself.

I begin to walk back to Cristian and Andy. When I come closer to the place where they were laying down, I can hear two people shouting at each other. I begin to run, and the ferret notices me. He waves at me while he jumps up and down. That’s probably Cristian. So, if I’m right, which I most likely am, then the small man should be Andy. I arrive at the two. “So let me guess the ferret’s Cristian and the other guy’s Andy.” I guess. “Well, you’re correct. Also is it just me or are you looking a bit horny?” Cristian says while pointing at the stubby horns and holding back his laughter. “Stop it furry.” I just say and he stops laughing.

I begin to inspect their clothing. Cristian is wearing a black shirt and some pants while Andy wears brown hardened leather shirt and pants. Both wear leather boots as well. “Also, Andy, what the hell are you?” Cristian asks with a grin on his face. “Well, I wouldn’t know myself. Maybe some kind of goblin or ogre?” Andy guesses while looking at his hands. “Well, you sure don’t look green, so I’d say you’re none of those.” I haphazardly tell him.

“Well mister shiny scales, what am I then?” Andy asks frustrated. “Well maybe you’re just a useless dwarf.” I state. “A dwarf? Really man?” Andy asks a little hurt. “Why wouldn’t you be? You think dwarves are so useless that they can’t speak or something?” I ask him. “No, they’re just kind of lame.” Andy states. “Well as long as you’re not a blacksmith I can agree.” Cristian says while looking at a bunny. “Did I ever ask you something?” I ask. “No, your mom did. Besides shouldn’t we explore the world we’ve just got reincarnated to?” Cristian asks. “Well, I’ll admit that you’ve got a point. Let’s go and explor-” I say but before I can finish my sentence, I feel a small cut being made in my cheek and then a small gust of wind.

After that I hear a middle-aged man yell the following: “Boys we’re eating a buffet today. Some dwarf ears as appetizer and a younger Dragonborn with Furosian sauce. Now who’s hungry?” Then I hear about three other people shouting. I look to my right and see four people, three men and one woman, they all wear a little bit of armor with and a drop of water that falls on a monster-like creature and the place where the drop touches the monster, it corrodes the skin.

They’re charging towards us, and I know they don’t want to talk. No, they want to eat us. We’re going to die. I go stand in a fighting position. “Hey people maybe we should you know, be prepared to fight these weirdos.” I shout at the two idiots. “Alright our first fight.” Cristian says. “The only thing is that if we lose, we’re supper. Literally supper. Let’s try to not lose guys.” I just add. I begin to feel something in my hands. The opposite party has walked up to us and one of them has drawn a sword. One of them, the one with the sword, runs up to me and the sword begins to glow. I begin to ready myself. I can feel a sensation running through my body. I feel powerful. The guy is in front of me. I try to punch him faster than he can slash me with his sword. But before I punch him a white mist leaks out of my hands. After not even a second the entire area is filled with mist. And weirdly enough, I can see almost everything. I look at my hands and they’re still pumping out smoke. Then I see my claws. They look pretty sharp. I move closer to the guy with the sword and slice his throat.

Cristian is moving around. The guy who’s attacking him uses a dagger but thanks to Cristian’s streamlined body, he can dodge it easily. “Can you stop dancing pile of fur and fight like a man?” the attacker asks boldly. “Well, I could but you don’t seem to put any effort in.” Cristian says, but he continues: “But if you insist, I’ll give you my all.’ Cristian smirks. He’s got an idea you can tell. He wraps his tail around the hand that’s holding the dagger. He tightens his grip, and the guy drops the dagger. Cristian takes the dagger and stabs it into the chest of the guy, and he drops down, blood starting to flow out of the wound in this chest. “Well, that was easy.” Cristian says while he takes the dagger out.

Andy is fighting the woman. She has iron gauntlets to give herself an extra hard punch. She punches Andy in the face. He falls on the ground. The woman jumps on Andy and begins beating him with her firsts. Andy begins to giggle. “What’s funny about this?” the woman shouts, and she stops beating Andy for a second. “That it tickles. Now let me try to punch you.” Andy says and he punches the woman so hard in the face that her nose bleeds and she falls unconscious. Andy stands up.

“Well, there is only one left.” I shout at the idiots. The archer who finally notices begins to run away while leaving some of his gear behind.

“That could’ve gone so wrong, but it didn’t.” I sigh, relieved to know we get to live for another hour and that this maybe was the right choice.
