In this cruel world, chasing over something is something so unthinkable. It's too naive to be done. Yet, people all over the world is doing it.They can chase over money, pride, or even love.

Those realization just came to me, after I've done it. I chased over something too much, that I fell into this deep hole of dissapointment now.

Yeah, in this hopeless world, all we can do is survive, keep fighting to improve ourselves, so that the world is the one chasing for us.

At least, those were what I thought. Things that made me hate this world. The world where the one trying his best to chase his dream, will never win.

The world where only them who gave up on their dreams and turned into robots of idealism is the one to succeed.

With those in mind, I turned on my computer, then start writing. Just a poem, a fruit of what just happened to me.

The title of the poem is... If I Was Born in Another World.

The beginning of events which I could never expect of.

"As I expected, why won't you tell us earlier?"

... Why am I getting interrogated now? She said, "We are going to scout around the city, come and join us!"

But then pulled me to her ganks and said to one of her friends, "Found him, this this is that person, right?"

Yeah, it's the elf who saved me yesterday. I realized how much help I recieved in this short time being in this world. His name is Taerin, and he already suspected me to be from another world. So, that gaze when I entered this room is his gaze. Maybe, then he discussed it with Anana and Anana proceeded to get me.

"Don't get your hopes up, there's still no proof."

"Come on, his mana is 39.492! Plus with Taerin's first encounter, isn't that enough?"

Anana said to a cold man beside her. I see, believing someone that easily sure is stubborn, I agree with that. Luckily, my phone is still inside my jacket's pocket. I took it and showed it to them, saying if this is a tool from my world.

"but, before that, so what? who are you guys?"'

'Believeng someone that easily is stubborn' works on me too.

"Ah, I see, you are a bit similar with Frans then. Hmm... it's hard to explain, but don't worry, we are allies."

It's not helping, you know...

"But, if you truly are from another world, please hide that identity, ok? You are lucky it's us"

Hey, you just protested why won't I tell them earlier. I didn't even reveal it before meeting Taerin. And by the way, that line.... It's like meeting another me.

"Hmm... Why?"

"... how to explain this..."

"Simply, just by existing, you are like being hunted by everyone now"

Taerin explained. But that's so strange, why would people hunting for a hero? So dumb. Well, I don't have any spirit to brag to anyone, so I think it's fine.

"Do you know about your ancestors who became the heroes 20 years ago?"

"...Hmm... no"

All I know is he is Airi's father. thought for a bit, then stood up.

"Well, let's just talk about it while scouting over the city."

Ah, at least she is not lying about scouting over the city. Taerin invited me too, which I gladly accepted. Frans is all silent, he is really the cold type here.

I thought that I was pretty cold back then, but maybe "plain" and "boring" is just more suitable for me.

After going to a receptionist and accepting a 'scout' quest, we departed from the guild. The reward system of the quest here is different from quests to quests. Scouting type of mission will give you small reward, but have a great bonus if you did something good or found something important.

"Don't worry, I will give the split for you too."

It's kinda touching. She seems to be the type who respect others. I like her. Moreover she is a beauty too. Her reddish clothes makes her to be really well suited for the title "main character".

With that, I mean a main character in a game. Of course every person is a main character for their own stories.

We walked to the main road to exit the town. It's a road I walked in yesterday while enterring this town.

"Ah, Haruya, you were lost in that forest yesterday."

Taerin pointed at a bunch of trees on a plateau. I already know, because I already observed it. Speaking of that forest, I am reminded with magic. I straigthly asked taerin about that magic.

"It's an elf magic, using the power of nature to do something. I used something called catalyst. It's the small seed I threw at you."

Hmm... maybe, everywhere, elves are just so close to nature. Speaking of which, so, in this world, seems like elves live together with human.

I saw that plateau once again. I can't believe it's yesterday I am lost there. Thanks to Airi, I am progressing very fast. I can't imagine where am I now if she didn't bring me to her house.

"So, I have this mana points, how do I use magic? And why don't people use magic in the town?"

"Hahahah, you are pretty critical. I will explain briefly. So, first, do you know how does magic works?"

"Nope, but after hearing Airi mom's spell, I guess it's kind of borrowing a God's power."

"Bingo, magic is a power granted by Gods and Goddeses to help creatures in this world, Euriele. We used the power of mind, which is known as mana, combined with the power of words to make a contract-like thing. We offer them mana, and they give us their power."

"Then, about the second question, it's because the majority of human don't have mana. We don't know why is that, and thought if it is a curse."

Whoa... I understand the essence now.

"No way, the fact is almost all of the royal families, aristrocrats, and scholars have a lot of them, even some of them is in the same number as Haruya."

Ok, this is getting interesting. So, I am not that overpowered, I guess. So, now that we speak about magic, I want to try to use it.

...well, maybe later, it can wait.

After going to the plateau and looking at the city from above, we went deeper to the forest.

"Yesterday, you being attacked by wolves are not normal. wolves tend to avoid contact with human. The fact that they are hunting in the place they shouldn't be, there must be something in their home."

Thanks for the explanation, but are you guys serious about bringing me along? You saying, "scouting over the city" didn't sounds like something like this.

"Emm... are you guys sure? I can't fight."

"Don't worry, we won't fight if we don't need to."

"Frans is right, after all, if we don't report the situation to the guild, they won't announce a slaying quest and we won't get any extra money, huehehe..."

So that's why... But I am still a bit worried as we went into the denser part of the forest. I've seen a lot of stories started by the characters underestimating what is in front of them, then got slayed miserably. But me myself is quite thrilled, going on an adventure like this.

Yeah, It's gonna be ok

We went through thick grasses, advancing deeper and deeper.

"Stop."

Anana lifted her right hand, signalling us to stop. I can see a big moving creature in front of us. From the games I played, the name of that creature is an orc.

"Hobgoblin, I see, so, maybe the condition is those wolves are running from a group of goblins."

"Anana, don't you think it's too silence here?"

Frans just made me realized if there was not even a single sound of birds, or any big animals.

"Agh"

Pain spreads from my shoulder. It's... an arrow. Some arrows were hitting the ground beside me too.

"Anana, should we fight?"

"No, Haruya is hurt, we can't take the risk. Frans, throw some smoke bombs!"

Ugghhhhh.... I tried to hold my voice when Anana pulled the arrow from my shoulder. She pulled me up, then we ran together.

It's the second day I am in another world, and I am shot by arrows.

"Drink this." Taerin passed me a small bottle.

I didn't question anything and be obedient to whatever my new friends are saying. We can't run at full speed, because of my inability to ran at this kind of field. I am not used to, moreover my right hand couldn't be used to hold on something.

"Frans, are they catching us?"

"... I don't see any of them."

"Strange, creatures as stupid as goblin should be catching for us in this condition."

Taerin and Frans thought for a while, then decided to report this to the guild first. But, before that, Taerin approached me and stick some... grasses? I think it's herbs, to my wound. This hurt a lot, I've never been shot by arrow before. Well, of course, hahah...

I entertained myself to distract my mind from the pain.

"It's all ok now, let's walk again."

"T-thanks, Taerin."

He smiled warmly in response. Then, we walked again towards the guild.

"Okay~ Thanks for the report. By the way... Why are you bringing a newbie to explore a deeper part of the forest, huh?"

Elisa changed from a cheerful and positive lady to a scary one. She looked at Anana with humiliating sight. Anana apologized again, then turned to my direction.

"Haruya, I have to apologize to you too, I am too arrogant to think there will be nothing in front of us."

"D-don't be like that, Anana, I am allright, just raise"

She bent down to me, how could I not feeling bad? She saying sorry is more than enough to make me touched. It is half my fault too for not being careful, after all.

Elisa sighed, then back with her smile.

"Anyway, It's good that you are back safe, please have the reward for your quest."

So, we got 40 silver, and I got 10 silver. I don't know how much is this, but Taerin said if it is not a bad number. The bonus alone is 30, because of what we found is said to be a big thing.

I am quite happy, though my wound still stings. At least I already have my own money the second day I am in another world.

"Ah, let's eat now"

"Good idea, Haruya, let me treat you as an apology"

Hmm... My stomach is crumbling already too, maybe eating now is not a bad idea. Anana will treat me too, it's great.

"Sorry, I think I will just buy and bring it back to home."

They seems a bit wondered, but then OKed. we went to the adventurer's hangout and went to the cashier together, but then I split up and have my own orders.

"Let's try... two portion of this nut sauced curry"

What the hell is that name. It's for sure some kind of Gado-Gado in this world. Well, I think she will like it, just like her.

...

So, In this world, we must use a catering container and returns it the next day... There's no plastic bags. Oh well, Just a little burden but worth the benefit.

I don't know why, I just want to brag about this to Airi. Yeah, I want to spend some more time with her.
