CHAPTER 3: Ugh... what happened?

The distant sounds of explosions and yelling awoke her from her slumber. Joyce was in what seemed like a military tent that was being blown about by the wind. Her eyes shot open as she stumbled up. She held her head in a daze; it was pounding. Around her were other medical beds, all occupied by unfamiliar faces, yet all clearly soldiers of some sort.

‘Ugh... what happened? There was an explosion and then... it’s all a blur,’ she thought.

She shook her head and looked around some more. The setting was also unfamiliar, but there was a table with a pitcher of water on it. It was neatly placed as if waiting solely for her to take a glass. As she passed by the large mirror next to it, she caught a glimpse of the image in front of her and was immediately stricken.

The image reflected back was that of a male physique. The goddess’ parting words echoed in her mind once more and all Joyce could enunciate, in a rather gruff and masculine was: “Huh?”
