Coming up with a Title is hard

Wilted Moon Continent,

Tukreko Archipelago,

Chara Island, Kaag Clan Headquarters.

In the Kaag Clan's Battle Arena, a tournament was taking place. Today was the trial for the Quadrennial 15 Clan Competition held by the Kaag Clan.

In the audience was a boy donning a white robe with a black zigzag pattern on the back.

Grey clouds covered the sky, making the weather a little chilly, but the boy was sweating buckets.

His match was scheduled later in the evening, but the problem was that he knew nothing about fighting.

So, why the hell is he here!? You might ask.

Well… the answer is… dun dun dun… you probably already know by reading the synopsis. But for those who didn't read the synopsis, he travelled to another world, a.k.a. getting isekaied.

Just the night before, he was chilling in his room, playing games. And before he knew it, he was transported to this World.

No inherited memory, no cheat system to help him, he was swept into the Trial Tournament by his GrandfatherGrandfather.

'Fuck! I'll get killed as soon as I set foot into the Arena. God, where is my deus ex machina? Will I now suddenly activate a system? Will I fucking grow some kind of five element spiritual roots?'

The boy was praying to all gods he knew the name of, but he didn't know that there wasn't a System tag in this novel. Poor boy, fated to work hard with no cheats.

Yeah, as the author of this novel, I can give something to him. I could also give him whatever that '5 element spiritual roots' is, but AM I GONNA?

Muahahaha… Work hard, boi! And Fuck deus ex machina trope!

"Begen, sweep all those people!"

Behind the boy, an old man, his GrandfatherGrandfather, the head of Kalij Clan, shouted, enthusiastically patting his shoulder.

The people around them looked at the Old Man and the boy with many different kinds of gazes, and the majority of gazes had ridicule and contempt stamped on them.

Begen accurately managed to predict their thought, which goes as follows.

'Where did these country bumpkins come from?'

'Tsk, a frog in a well….'

You know, the usual belittling gazes, which the protagonist always gets because his level is lower than others, but later surprises them with power higher than what his level should have.

P.S. Also fuck this low-level high-power trope.

Of course, that was the scenario for typical Protagonists.

Our Protagonist… Oh yeah, I totally forgot, but that boy we've been talking about is the Main Character, but you've probably guessed it by now.

His name is Begen, full name; Kalij Begen. About his previous World's name, we don't talk about that here. Hmph, do you know how hard it is to think of a name?

As he was drowning in the gazes of contempt and ridicule, his name was called by an Elder from the Arena.

Begen's heartbeat shot up like crazy hearing his name. Like when the teacher calls you in front of the class to solve a problem when you have a boner, but multiplied by 10.

There should have been at least 3-4 hours for his match to begin.

As he was panicking, the Elder announced something once again.

Turns out, for some reason, the matches before his were postponed.

While the Elder was announcing the reasons, the person he was supposed to have the match with had already jumped onto the Arena.

Begen was thinking and praying various things when he heard the Elder call his name, this time with a slightly louder voice.

"Contestant No. 42, Kalij Begen!"

Hearing the Elder's voice, he could only reluctantly go down into the Arena.

At first, he wanted to tap out of this thing, but rules and traditions.

Things such as tapping out without a valid reason could result in Banishment from the Island.

Which dumbass made this kind of rule?! It's just a fucking fight!

Begen wanted to flip a table in anger the first time he read this rule.

Knowing nothing of this World, it was already hard to live on this Island. If he had to go elsewhere, it would be even more challenging.

Anyway, now that he was in this situation, he had to think of some way to save his ass.

'Should I break my legs? They can't make me fight if I can't even walk properly. But, I don't think I have the willpower to endure the pain….'

Lost in his thoughts, as he was making his way towards the Arena, he accidentally tumbled down the stairs, landing headfirst in front of the Arena.

"Fuck! It hurts so much, but damn this body is robust, my leg is still fine…."

Begen murmured in a disappointed tone.

Of course, when you plant your headfirst into the ground, obviously, the legs would be fine.

While he had the idea of tumbling down the stairs and faking injuries, he wasn't planning to tumble down so many stairs.

Before he could stand up, the medics rushed up, checking his body with some kind of magic.

Yeah, obviously there's magic in this World, or else, why the hell would the boy be this scared to fight, even thinking of breaking his leg and getting disappointed when it didn't break.

The Medic signalled the Elder, who was also the Judge of these fights, saying that he was okay.

"Shit! Now I can't even say I have an injury as an excuse. Let people die, let people develop their dao heart through ruthlessness of life and death experiences. Why do these medics need to hurry so much? Hmph!"

Yeah… feel free to ignore that previous statement by our boy. It sounds kinda cringe, now that I re-read it… Yeah, erase it from your memory.

The Elder signalled him to come up to the Arena. Reluctantly, he went up to the Arena in slow steps. When in those slow steps, he thought of a pro gamer move, at least in his perspective.

His pace got quicker, and a sort of confident smile bloomed on his face covered in dirt from the faceplant earlier.

Seeing the sudden change in him, his opponent wondered if he had some kind of trump card, making him confident in the victory of this battle.

The faceplant earlier made him unable to think of Begen as an expert, so that was the reasonable conclusion he got to.

The opponent took out a dagger from his waist, gripping it tightly with his left hand before his chest.

'Crap! I forgot about the weapon rule. If I had brought a sword or something, I would at least have a slight bit of assurance. It's all because the previous guys didn't use any….'

The Elder floated slightly above the Arena and gave a signal for the fight to start.

The opponent dashed towards Begen as soon as the Elder gave the signal.

Startled, Begen instinctively jumped backwards. Not just a few steps, but about a meter and a half.

This made his opponent reevaluate the strength of Begen. He gripped his dagger tighter, and gas began coming out of the dagger.

"Here it is…."

Begen murmured in his breath.

Yeah, this was what made him fearful of the fight. If it was a normal fight, he wouldn't be scared to throw hands.

But, Magic, the unknown, for him, was fearful. He didn't know which magic did what, how to activate it, and so on. He had zero knowledge about it.

'Hopefully, my knowledge from anime, games, and novels will help….'

Will it, though? I have prepared a unique magic system for this novel. At least, I think it is unique; it could already be out there, I wouldn't know.

Maybe Begen knows about my magic system. Nah, can't be. If I don't know, he also doesn't know. For I am the God of this…

P.S. If you know a similar magic system, don't tell me. Let me be happy about my creation.

The opponent once again dashed with the dagger, but this time, Begen wasn't as lucky.

The dagger cut his skin slightly below his elbow. Saying slightly might be undermining the wound a little, but it wasn't anything serious.

"Ahh…"

Begen couldn't help but scream at the cut. He felt a chill spreading through the wound as he was about to spew out some curse words.

His hand started getting blue and looked like it was slowly turning black, and it was within a few seconds.

As he was panicking, a warm stream travelled from the middle of his forehead towards the wound area. After which, his hand slowly recovered.

And, it was just a probing attack from the opponent, watching how Begen would deal with it and form his strategy accordingly.

That's it, I'm getting tired. If you wanna read more, read chapter 2 when I upload it. See you around! Hopefully.
