When Renna woke up next she was in bed. A magnificent four poster bed with drapes. As sleepiness lifted she realized she was naked. Her dress was missing. She sat up with a start. She didn’t give a damn about the dress or nakedness, but she did care about the amulet. There was something around her neck and with relief she found it to be the amulet. Whoever had taken her dress, had put it on her.
Then she blushed. A vague memory stirred of being carried in the arms of someone definitely male and stronger than Ben. Ben had stopped picking her up like that years ago.
She had been about to panic when he whispered “sleep…” and reality faded away again at his command. It better not be him who took away her clothes. She scanned her body and found no hints of any violation having occurred while she was sleeping. Not yet anyway.
Then she laughed… being raped for now was a secondary concern. She looked around. The room was actually a cave. Besides the bed it contained a dressing table with a mirror and a large wardrobe. As she was naked, the wardrobe seemed like the first sensible place to find a cure for that. She slid herself out of the bed and went to the wardrobe, opened both doors and looked in. The next second she slammed them shut again. That wardrobe… wasn’t normal. It was bigger on the inside! Much bigger. Infinitely bigger. One could get lost in it.

She opened one door carefully again, closed her eyes and reached in. She could feel some clothes quite nearby. So she just grabbed the first thing under her hand. It was black and sparkly and looked like it would be skin tight. And there was no way in hell she was going to wear it. She shoved it back and grabbed for something else. This time the dress that he had managed to retrieve was slightly faded blue and quite sensible. And big enough to fit. She put it on.
As she turned away from the wardrobe her breakfast was floating in. Well… almost floating. It was being carried by someone. A human shaped flame. The flame was translucent, naked and clearly female. She placed her tray on the bed and said with a voice that sounded like a crackling fireplace, “Please have breakfast, my lady.” Then she stepped out of the room.
For the first time Renna felt truly scared. This wasn’t the world she knew, there was too much magic. Nothing made sense. Starting with the fact that she was still alive and being fattened up apparently. She moved the food to the dressing table and crawled back under the covers. She wasn’t ready to be out yet. She wasn’t sure she would ever be. She had no plan for this. She expected to be dead. And the unknown was much scarier than knowing you would be eaten by a dragon very soon.
But eventually, fear gets old and smells and sounds of lunch being served came from the other side of the door luring her out.
