This was the reason why she didn't want to run into Loki. She was fine with the other enforcers but this one, this one was out of the question. He was famous for being someone who couldn't keep a secret and who couldn't read the atmosphere.
"I'm here for a job," she answered briefly. Loki was waiting for Aliyah to explain further but he was disappointed because the woman refused to speak any further.
"Well, what's your current assignment?" He continued to probe. He won't let it go, not until the woman spilled it.
"To be my bodyguard," a crisp voice answered for Aliyah. Aizel moved to where they were standing when he saw the situation and gave Loki a smile.
Loki was stunned to see a tall young man standing in front of him. He was too eye-catching with his handsome looks and Loki couldn't help but whistle and give Aliyah a look. But more than that, he was even more surprised that Aliyah would accept this kind of job. He knew how Aliyah loathed associating with people and she would rather face a hundred monsters than to become a bodyguard.
Even with those thoughts in his mind, he still managed to maintain his teasing smile. "I didn't know that the famous Red already has someone..." he said in a teasing voice which annoyed Aliyah. He was even wiggling his eyebrows because of it.
"Stop blabbering nonsense, he is General Aryster's son and I'm tasked to be his bodyguard. So please get your head out of the gutter." She glared at Loki and dared him to say one more thing. Loki let out an awkward laugh and raised his hands in surrender.
"Okay, okay I understand. I won't talk anymore. Well then, we'll get going as well. Nice seeing you again Aliyah," Loki slightly turned around then waved at them before he and the enforcer with him left. He gave them one last look before disappearing among the crowd.
"Are they your colleagues?" Aizel curiously asked. This was an opportunity for him to gain a little bit more knowledge about Aliyah and perhaps to have a conversation with her.
Aliyah nodded and didn't say anything. She didn't want to talk about it. It was already awkward for her to meet other enforcers because of her position right now. She felt embarrassed and indignant at the same time. Aizel took note of Aliyah's sour mood and didn't continue to talk. He could only smile and let the chance go.
They roamed around the city for the whole day and did nothing but buying or just plainly sightseeing. Aizel continued to act like it was his first time to be in the city and Aliyah's sour mood persisted the entire day. She couldn't wait for them to return to the manor so that she could go home too.
"Young master, is there any particular place that you want to visit before we return to the manor?" the driver asked Aizel who was currently lost in his own thoughts at the back of the car
"Please go to the same place, the park where I always go." He simply answered without thinking twice. It was rare for him to take the initiative to go to other places aside from the manor. He would once in a while visit the City Central and just roam around to lighten his mood and that park has always been a destination he would not forget to visit.
Not long after, they arrived in an abandoned park. The benches and swings were destroyed and even the once beautiful fountain was just now a memory. Walking in that park while he was distracted by the thoughts running in his mind, he failed to notice the shadows lurking in the dark that was following his every move. At that moment, he stopped walking and the shadows took that chance to attack. Aliyah saw what was happening and was already there in a flash to defend the general's son.

Aizel managed to evade one of the attacks by a narrow margin. The place immediately became chaotic as more shadows appeared from the dark. Aizel's bodyguards were all engaged in a fierce battle against the enemies that appeared.
Aliyah managed to kill three out of the five shadows that suddenly attacked Aizel. When she was sure that her charge was safe, she calmed down and was finally able to see who the attackers were. She was momentarily stunned to see that the attackers were not humans but were Tenebrae.
At first look, they were like humans because of their build but after looking closely they have fangs and claws. Their eyes were red and their faces were hairy. A howl that could make someone shake in fear suddenly sounded and it was followed by more howls.
"Wolfic Tenebrae," a cold voice spat from Aliyah's behind. "They really are brave to come here and seek death."
Aliyah turned around and saw that the aura around Aizel suddenly changed. There was no more foolishness nor childishness in his eyes. Instead, Aliyah felt something akin to madness from him.
"Don't do something stupid," nevertheless Aliyah stood her ground and remained in front of Aizel in a protective stance. She gripped her gun, ready to kill. She slowly stepped back and signaled for Aizel to do the same.
Aizel followed Aliyah's lead and also took a step back. The wolves were eyeing them closely, ready to pounce when an opening appeared. Just a few steps more before they could reach the car when a bigger shadow suddenly appeared and rushed towards Aliyah. The wolfic boss intended to take out Aliyah first before he would kill Aizel.
Aizel saw the shadow coming and so did Aliyah. He didn't hesitate to pull Aliyah behind him and faced the wolf head-on. The force of Aizel's pull made Aliyah a bit unstable and when she was able to balance herself again, the scene in front of her nailed her on the spot where she was standing.
Aizel was currently holding the wolfic by his neck. He slowly lifted the wolf in the air and tightened his grip until a crack was heard. He flung the wolf's body to the side and looked at the other wolves with a sinister smile.
The aura around Aizel slowly became more threatening. He suddenly disappeared from where he was standing and reappeared in front of one of the wolves and used his hand to pierce through the wolf's chest. The moment he pulled back his hand, he was already holding a beating heart. The wolf fell on the ground with blood oozing from his chest.
Aizel grinned as he slightly tilted his head to the side before crushing the heart in his hand. Blood splattered on his face and on his clothes but he did not care. He blinked and for a full minute, bodies of wolves dropped down like rain on the ground. All of them had holes on their chest.
With how fast everything happened, Aliyah wasn't able to react at all. She came out from her frozen stupor the moment Aizel returned to her side as if nothing happened. She managed to look around and saw that no Tenebrae was left alive.
Question upon question popped out from her mind. The man suddenly became a stranger to her. The weak and fragile impression she had with this man crumbled. From the massacre she witnessed, Aliyah instantly knew that Aizel Aryster was not an ordinary human.
"I didn't know that you were this strong," Aliyah sneered. She was really deceived. Why would a person with a super ability need a bodyguard like her?
She turned her back and was the first one to leave. Aizel just looked at her with sad eyes. He knew the hidden meaning behind those words. It was really wrong of them to deceive her but what can he do, it was the fastest way for him to be close to her.
He couldn't even act weak because when he saw the wolfic rushing towards Aliyah, he lost himself for a moment and killed all of them. It was a momentary lapse of reason and now he was regretting it. It was only a week and now Aliyah surely hated him. Another surge of madness slowly rose inside him and he could feel his control slowly slipping away but before he could fall deep, he felt a slight pain on his neck before he lost consciousness.
Aliyah was enraged. The moment she reached her apartment she had the urge to throw and break anything to vent her anger. She decided to pick up her phone and dialed Chief Andrews's number.
"Hello?" a tired voice answered from the other end of the line.
"I'll be joining the patrol tonight," she said without any hesitation.
"But you still have your orders from the general..." Chief Andrews could feel that something was wrong from Aliyah's voice so he cautiously said those words.
"I don't care. I'm going whether you like it or not. I'm just informing you and you can just punish me anytime." She ended the call after those words and prepared for the patrol.
In her mind, the chief was an accomplice to the deception she experienced. Aliyah didn't care if the chief would demote her or the general would remove her as an enforcer. She made up her mind not to show up in the general's manor anymore.
Aliyah directly went to her usual patrol area and found Loki there together with three more enforcers. Loki was surprised to see Aliyah and to see that she was actually in a very bad mood.
Loki's curiosity got the best of him so he asked. "What made you look so ugly?"
"None of your business," she spat.
