“What was that noise?” Said Nightshade to his fellow assassin. Both of them were waiting outside of the inn, while the rest of the four assassins went in to do the deed.
Shinjo looked at Nightshade, “We need to check it out”
“Let's go!” Said Nightshade hastily.
While in the room, Captain Hale's badass entry with his shotgun put Kaz in pure shock and fear. He couldn't believe what had just happened. He assassinated a lot of people but never in his life something like this had ever happened. The two assassins who were outside the room, hurriedly entered and after seeing the situation they instantly went into combat mode.
Cayman, who was a master of Wind magic, attacked Hale. “Elemetal Art : Wind Blade.” A powerful and thick blade made of wind went towards Hale.
Hale dodged the attack by rolling to the side and unleashed a devastating close range shot at Cayman. He tried to dodge the shrapnels but as we all know, in a race of bullets and men, bullets always win, so they obliterated his left shoulder and hand, painting the wall behind him in red. Castiel in the meantime used one of his self-made rings to cast a Light Magic spell: Light Wall. The spell put a hard light barrier inside the room trapping everyone in it. Only Dark magic could go up against light magic and the only user among the assassins: Nightshade, was still outside the inn. The whole inn came to life in the middle of the night. Guests started to panic, the other royal guards ran to see what was going on.
The loud noise of the second shot finally broke Caz’s stupor. He saw that not only was their mission a complete failure, their lives were also about to come to an end. Seeing the light barrier he found no other option but to use one of his most destructive Fire magic spells. Caz screamed, “Elemental Art : Inferno Burst.” Lyric was about to cast a Water Lance at Castiel but hearing the screaming chant he put a water barrier around himself. Captain Hale, a veteran of many battles, was an intermediate level Earth Magic user. He chanted a defensive spell : Rock Skin, completely encasing himself in solid rock. With the sudden turn of events, Castiel had to dispel the light magic and put a hard light barrier in front of himself. The fire spell hurt nobody except Cayman who was already half dead. It inflicted third-degree burns on his body.
Seeing an opportunity to escape, both Caz and Lyric decided to run, while Cayman was seething from pain and on the brink of death but Hale was locked and loaded with his shotgun. Hale pointed his shotgun at the back of Caz and just as he was about to unleash wrath upon him, Cayman with the last bit of his strength chanted the final Wind Blade of his life. It was aimed at Hale, and this time he wasn't ready for it. He tried to dodge it but it hit him in the upper left abdomen, pushing him into the wall and making a deep cut in the process. Luckily for him this Wind Blade wasn’t as powerful as the first one, and his armor also helped, otherwise he would have been dead. Castiel finally took out his hand gun and shot Cayman in the head, ending his misery and eliminating a threat at the same time.

Caz and Lyric got out of the room but were stopped by the incoming Royal guards. Lyric was at the front, so he decided to attack the guard in front of him. The guard swung his broadsword at Lyric’s neck but anticipating the guard's move, Lyric swiftly dodged it by ducking and countered with a forceful swing targeting the guard's abdomen. The sword hit the armor but instead of cutting through it and the guard getting hurt, Lyric screamed in pain. At the same time Nightshade and Shinjo entered the inn through the first floor window on the other side. They saw what just happened. They were about to attack the guards but seeing the bizarre and weird thing that just happened before their eyes, they stopped.
“Something truly is wrong with those armors.” Nightshade said to Shinjo. He wanted to save his fellow assassins, but he didn't want to fight at a disadvantage. His mind was telling him to run away.
Nightshade looked at Shinjo, “We need to retreat. We failed the mission.”
Shinjo asked, “uurrrghh….What about the others?”
“They are on their own. We can’t help them.” Nightshade replied.
“Richmond won’t be happy.” Shinjo said while turning back.
Nightshade replied, “He can go fuck himself.”
Both of them left through the window they came in, while Nightshade made a promise to himself, Castiel Xenides! I will come for you. Live while you can!
As Lyric was in pain because of his own attack, another guard jumped from the side with his sword aiming for his head. Caz chanted a Fire spell to attack the guard mid-air by casting a massive fireball, “Elemental Art : Ember Bla….” Castiel stopped him by shooting at his hand from behind. Caz screamed as blood flowed through his hand and Lyric got his head chopped off.
Castiel shouted, “Restrain him!”
The Royal guards jumped on Caz and subdued him. Castiel ran back to check on Captain Hale and saw him bleeding out on the floor. Castiel took out a self made healing potion from the satchel on the nightstand near the bed, “Drink this.” Hale lost consciousness immediately after drinking the potion. Slowly the gaping wound started to heal. Normal healing potions wouldn't have worked this fast but he learned from Chief Orisan that Dragon blood has greater regenerative powers. So, Castiel used his own blood as one of the ingredients to make this healing potion and it worked wonders.
Castiel sat down on the ground and looked at the man he had killed, “Sigh! What a mess!”
Suddenly, he vomited as the adrenaline rush was over.
