‘This Idle Evolution System really is a steaming pile of shit!’ Cassius thought to himself through bloody tears as he hit the ground in the middle of brushing his teeth. ‘I swear I will one day shove some character development down this system’s throat! Damn it all!’

With a fiery glow burning through his gaze, he pushed himself up and down, watching as the veins in his arms bulged. It felt like his entire body was on fire, but he just pushed through the pain! He refused to give this shitty system the pleasure of watching him walk around with two legs instead of three!

“Arghhh! I fucking hate you, system!”

It was only after twenty minutes of air-humping the floor that Cassius completed the Side Quest and received his one measly point in Perception. Still, it was enough to moderately increase his five senses and hidden sixth sense. The early morning chirps of the birds outside became crisper, the clanking metal internals of rapidly flashing cars rang out louder, and the sound of something more… distinct dripped into his ears.

Even in his completely exhausted state, Cassius could clearly hear what was most definitely...

“Moaning...?” Question marks went off above his head. “This early in the morning, no less...”

Curious as to who could be so shameless at this time of day, Cassius swiped away the system notification that informed him of the 3 AP he gained for today. He made his way out of his room on the second floor and descended a flight of stairs. Following the faintly feminine moan trail, he found himself in front of his stepsister’s room.

And wouldn’t you know it, the cliché stayed alive—her door was slightly ajar, leaving just enough room for any peeping stepbrothers to view the sensual sight inside.

Out of everyone in his family, Cassius was the only one who hadn’t awakened as a Hunter. His father was an E-Rank, his stepmother was an E-Rank as well, and then his talented stepsister was a D-Rank, putting her above the rest. Then there was his late mother, whom he only had faint memories of. She was said to be awakened as well, but his father never deigned to tell him what rank she was. Every time Cassius brought up the matter, he was either ignored or told to go away.

The point was, out of everyone in his family, he was the only one who hadn’t awakened. To have an entire family of Hunters could already be considered a miracle, but to be the only outlier made that miracle his nightmare.

“But maybe with this Idle Evolution System, I have the chance to alter my fate as hated trash...” Cassius suddenly stopped running and looked down at his calloused hands. “Although the system is shitty, it makes me far stronger than what I could obtain through just hard work... And if my guess is correct, the stats are weighted, meaning they’ll be worth more the more I have.”

Speaking about this reminded him of the 3 AP he had just received. After a moment of deliberation, he decided to allocate them all into Agility.

“Who could possibly hit me if I’m faster than them!?” Cassius sported a proud expression as he spammed the Agility up-arrow button. A few passersby were disturbed by his creepy laughing, but he didn’t care one bit. His entire life, people sneered and derided him every chance they got. What difference did it make now?

After watching all three of his AP vanish, Cassius pulled up the system interface that only he could see.
