Chapter 12

Chapter 12

The next day a piece of news that became common gossip was released. The grandson of Governor Maximillian Arnold, the heir to the Leon family was alive.

“We repeat, Nicholas Leon is alive, now to Cherry for an update on this breaking story.”

“Thank you Tom. As we all know, 12 years ago, the private plane belonging to Lyons Enterprises left the European alliance and was heading back to North America. On that plane was the CEO and major share holder of Lyons enterprises, Theodore Leon; his wife Jane Leon, daughter of influential governor Maximillian Arnold; and their once in a generation genius son, Nicholas Leon. What should have been a quick, smooth flight between the two alliances ended up being a tragedy for the Leon family, as while they were on route, the plane encountered a category 5 Tide Phenomena over the Atlantic Ocean. It was the common opinion that no one in the family could have survived that encounter and the plane crash site would never be found. However, though he knew that there may be no results, Governor Maximillian never gave up on searching for the plane crash site. Every year, he would hire a ship to head out for an eight month expedition in the Atlantic Ocean and search for the plane crash site. After 12 long years, Governors Maximillian’s effort were finally rewarded. One month ago, the SS Titania found an uncharted island that was inhabited by vicious mutated beasts. And to their great shock, they found that someone actually lived there. After getting to know this person and busting his base on the island, they found that it was actually Nicholas Leon.”

“It’s an amazing story Cherry, but how do they know that the person they found is actually Nicholas Leon and not someone else? When the accident happen, the boy should have been only 10. I find it extremely hard to believe that a child could survive in such and extraneous environment by himself for so many years.”

“Excellent point Tom. After the ship set out from the island with an extra passenger, the doctor on the boat ran some simple DNA test on him, and found that it 100% matched Nicholas Leon. Furthermore, the boy had also buried his parents and prevented their bones and flesh from being eaten by wild animals. While there was a certain amount of decomposition in the body, even with the limited technology on board they were able to confirm those remains belonged to Theo and Jane Leon.”

“Truly incredible. This has been Tom and Cherry with your breaking news morning updates. Back to you Mary.”

While the news that a survivor of the Leon family tragedy had been found, in a large conference room in the Lyons Enterprises headquarters, a group of people that were not to happy with this news were holding a meeting. The group consisted of 13 men and 2 women

“Dammit!! How could that beat survive such a disaster! It makes no sense!!”

“That’s right! All of our hard work to amass such a large influence over the past 12 years might be rendered pointless by that brat!”

“Hmph, I propose we hire an assassin to kill him and put him back in the grave.”

“Seconded.”

“If we are going to take him out, we have to use a group that won’t be traced back to us, otherwise of Governor Maximillian finds outC things would be bad.”

“Hehe. We can use Governor Maximillian to our benefits. We will frame those bastards under the board chairman for the murder.”

“Excellent idea. Now, who amongst that faction is the easiest targ...”

“SHUT UP YOU FOOLS!!!”

As the group of men were joyfully planning an assassination and framing their enemies for it, a loud, authoritative voice rang out.

With fearful expressions, the group of men turned to the voice’s owner who was sitting on a large couch: a beautiful mature woman with long wavy black hair.

Looking at the men staring at her in fear, a trace of conceal scorn passed threw her eyes.

“There will be no assassination. I will take care of the matter involving Nicholas. If none of you are able to hide your killing intent and hate for him, do not show up in front of him. Not get out of here. This pointless meeting is over.”

“But Sonia......”

“I said this meeting is over!! Why aren’t you guys leaving yet!?”

Hearing her voice get colder, the group of men decided to leave before her well known, explosive anger surfaces again.

“And don’t forget, do not appear in front of

Nicholas if you can’t put aside your own agendas.”

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

As she saw the men leave, Sonia issued them a last warning.

“Bunch of idiotic morons.”

After all the people in the room had left aside from her secretary, Sonia started barbering them all.

“Alex, this is a good learning lesson for you. When something unexpected happens, don’t act like this idiots and think it’s an automatic bad thing.”

“Yes ma’am.”

“Those fools actually thought it’d be easy to kill him. They’ve been watching too many dramas. If those idiots actually tried doing what they said, they’d be lucky to survive the ordeal.”

“Ma’am, do you mean that they wouldn’t be able to kill him no matter who they hire?”

“Of course they wouldn’t succeed. Unlike those idiots, I never discounted the possibility of someone surviving that disaster, no matter how small. On the SS Titania, I bribed a few of the sailors to keep me inform of anything that they may come across. According to their report, over the last 12 years that boy has constantly been in life and death fights with vicious and mutated beasts and has apparently reached the martial arts grandmaster level.”

“Martial arts grandmaster!? Aren’t there only 3 of them in the entire NA alliance!?”

Starting in the mid 21st century much experiment, research and studies were conducted on unlocking the mysteries of the human body. Through these experiments and studies, the world came to find that the human body was capable of so much more than what was previously thought possible.

After the last world war, when the different countries realized that they could no longer afford to engage in modern warfare, they turned to these studies involving the human body mysteries that had been carried on for decades. Rather than engaging in wars evolving hundred of thousands of soldiers and many catastrophic weapons, they turned to developing “super” soldiers at a limited scale that would settle there disputes. All of the sudden, these studies involving the body that had lost steam over the decades suddenly stared receiving massive funding and man power. Results that would’ve taken years to attain before were suddenly being attained much faster. And this timeline was further accelerated once MEG was created. To this day the fear has into the human body is continuously ongoing.

Through the help of MEG, the degree in which a person could master the mysteries of their bodies were divided into 6 stages. They were: the foundation building stage; the small success stage; large success stage; expert stage; master stage; and grand master stage. Someone that has just entered the large success stage would have been a contender for any big name fighting title before these studies were started.

“Hah, you girl. Like I taught you before don’t believe everything you hear. There are a lot more than just 3 grand masters in the NA alliance. As for that Nicholas boy, I doubt he’s at the grand martial stage. While watching the abilities of those who unlock the mysteries of the body is now a pastime of the common populace, most of them haven’t even seen the true abilities of someone that’s at the master level, they’ve only seen those who have reached the expert level. It’s possible that my spy over stayed his abilities.”

Listing to Sonia’s explanation, Alex constantly nodded her head.

“Got it. But even if he’s at the master level, the plan that they had still wouldn’t work. Why didn’t you tell them that he was at that level? That would’ve completely squashed the idea that they had.”

“That’s because I know that some of them won’t give up on the idea. While they were useful while I amass power in the company, some of them are turning into liabilities. This would be the best time to get rid of them.”

“But aren’t you worried that with Nicholas’s appearance your position in the company would be threaten.”

“Haha. Of course not. Unlike those fools who turned all panicky just because they heard the news, I didn’t forget how a company works. Just because he is the major share holder he won’t be able to get rid of me without trouble. Furthermore according to my spy, the boy has a lot more interest in the game Incarnation than in the company. If I manage my relationship with him well, his return could help to further cement my position in the company. Anyway......”

Looking at the busty brunette in the tight fitting secretary outfit in front of her, Sonia lasciviously licked her lips as she grabbed Alex’s hand and threw her on the couch.

Placing a hand on Alex’s thigh, Sonia leaned in to give her a kiss before whispering in her ears “what did I tell you to call me when we are alone?”

With a flushed face, Alex replied “mistress...” as Sonia started unbuttoning her shirt.......

Watching the large group of reporters wait for the docking of the SS Titania below him, Nicholas couldn’t help but shake his head.

When the ship was about 10 miles away, a helicopter send by Nicholas’s grandfather went to pick him up. Do to its stealth mode, none of the reports waiting for this ship noticed that he had left the ship by helicopter.

After around 10 minutes of travel, the helicopter finally landed on the roof of a tall building.

Looking outside the helicopters window, Nicholas saw 3 people waiting for him.

One of them looked like a loving couple with the fit, tall man with grey hair and a trimmed-beard holding unto a shaking women who looked like she was in her earlier fifties.

Standing behind the couple was a beautiful woman with platinum blond hair in a white pantsuit.

“Sir Maximilian, is it really Nicholas?”

Nodding his head, Maximillian grabbed unto the shaking woman in his hand. When she heard the question from Anastasia her shaking increased.

Watching the shaking woman in Maximillian's arms, Anastasia closed her mouth and did not ask her following question. Since finding out that Nicholas was alive, that woman had not slept or eaten anything as she waited for Nicholas to arrive. Any time he was brought up in a conversation, the woman would start heavily shaken with hope, expectations, and anxiety in her face.

As the woman calmed down, she tapped the watch on her wrist. Upon tapping that watch a holographic screen appeared in front of her. She quickly pulled up the limited information that the SS Titania had sent on Nicholas and reviewed it for the 25th time today.

Finishing reviewing the data again, the woman saw that the helicopter had finished landing and its doors were opening.

Seeing Nicholas get out of te helicopter, the woman left the tall mans hold and ran towards him, giving him a loving hug as she cried.

“My sweet Nicholas...my sweet Nicholas....”

She cried out as she embraced him.

“Grandma....”Watching this woman who took him into her warm embrace upon seeing him, Nicholas found himself returning the hug.

“My sweet Nicholas......you’ve finally returned to me.....”
