Luke

----------------------------------------

Silence...

The trees are silent.

"Hmm...this way maybe?"

"Or maybe this way?"

"Or maybe this way!"

"Or perhaps thi....why am I talking to myself..."

Luke studied each of the paths before him. Three of them. Go left to the humble trees. Or go right to the laughing trees. Or straight to the crying trees. Decisions, decisions, decisions. This would be so much easier if everyone wasn't against him!

Not fair at all. He was the only one that was it this time. Usually there would be three of them because of the vastness of the forest. And also, he would usually get help from the trees. But Terra said this was supposed to be his "training." Training for what, who knows. It's not like he's ever going to leave the forest anyways.

It doesn't matter, he told himself. Since he's the only one it. He will just have to work that much harder.

Okay.

First, he should find the easiest target. Meaning the biggest and dumbest one first. Yup. He knew just the one.

Going left towards the humble trees he stalked close to the ground. Looking closely for any rocks or branches that may be in his way. Terra said when stalking others, one should do so slowly, but quickly. Be patient, but also opportunistic. He didn't know how you are supposed to do those things. They were complete opposites. How do you go slow, but also fast? And how can you be patient, but also quick to act.

It was weird now that the trees were no longer speaking to him. He wasn't used to the silence. Terra most likely told them not to help though it's not like he always need their help anyways. He only gets lost sometimes now. Only sometimes! Still, he felt lonely.

Each step closer to the humble trees he started to notice changes. A lot of riff raff were moved here and there. Branches and dirt were splayed all over the place.

This was too easy.

Taking a few final steps over a large boulder his target came into view. A giant bear. It was huddled into a ball next to the humble trees as if not conspicuous. You would think a giant piece of brown fur next to a group of trees it's own size wouldn't stand out. Seeing as the whole forest was many times taller than these trees.

Slowly...

Real slowly...

But also quickly!!

Luke stalked towards the bear. When he came within spitting distance. He hollered at the top of his lungs and jumped.

"Gotcha!"
