Chapter 86 - The Greatest Genius!

Chapter 86 - The Greatest Genius!

"Well... Good luck, sis!" Fu Yin grinned and gave a thumbs up.

Xiao Wu smiled as she got up and gave a light nod. When she turned towards the stage however her expression turned serious and her gaze became as cold as ice. Her pair of green eyes lit up and purple veins appeared.

The pupils then turned purple, her eyes seemed to turn into two beams of light as they examined her next opponent: his figure was not too buff, yet at the same time not too skinny, his hair was brown and he didn't have any redeeming features.

'If I recall correctly, his name should be Ku Xong...' Xiao Wu pondered and then nodded in her head 'I can do this!'

The man's brown eyes were trembling as they examined the young girl in front of him: of the three wild cards, Fu Yin, Xiao Wu and Fang Lu, and the black horse of the tournament, Te Rin, the youngest of the four was without any doubt the best pick out of the four geniuses.

However, he still couldn't help but be afraid of the little monster. After all, she might be young, yes, however her strength was no secret. The girl was only a low level Superior stage cultivator, however she was the Blue Robed Night Challenger!

Few in the same stage had ever been able to rival this mysterious figure ever since she had joined the Sect. Who knows what tricks she could have, trump cards hidden in her sleeve, waiting for him to make a bad move to pull them out and blow the audience away together with his charred body!

Still, how could he possibly give up? His opponent was only a young girl, no more than nine years old! Had it been Fu Yin or Fang Lu, he would have forfeited as soon as the match started, but that was not the case!

He could lose, yes, but could not lose face for him and his Master!

Thus, he had to fight!

Xiao Wu stepped on top of the tall stage and walked towards the center, her purple robes fluttering in the wind as she emitted dense killing intent. Ku Xong gulped and then bowed respectfully "I seek guidance from fellow Disciple, Xiao Wu!"

The girl nodded in response and bowed as well "You sure give me face, Senior! I will be sure to give back face to Senior by using all my strength!"

'Uhm... No thanks?' The man wanted to yell, however he could not. Once one starts to ride on top of a tiger, it is difficult to get off!

Lao Jianghu nodded "Good luck to the both of you! You may begin!"

As soon as he said that, Xiao Wu's amiable expression was replaced by viciousness and her eyes gleamed coldly, the purple glow even more evident than it had been before!

She waved her hand and a long, black blade more than five foot long appeared in her hands: it was none other than the Black Dragon Aura Sword!

Yet, it looked a lot different... It was as if it had gained life! At times, it looked like a black dragon, ready to attack at any given moment! Black scales, silver fangs, it looked imposing, a sovereign of the skies, a lord of the lands!

This dragon had a white beard and many horns protruding from the back of its head, as well as a silver mane that went down its spine. Its five sets of claws looked sharp enough to cut countless mountains in half and the beast's eyes seemed to be able to break through reality itself!

In the dragon's eyes, deep within his pupils... Was greed! Unextinguishable greed! Such greed, it looked as if it would be able to offend the Heavens themselves!

Lao Jianghu stared in shock as did many other in the audience: few knew and had the chance to witness the events of the battle against the calamity known as the Shadow Dragon, but those who had been there couldn't help but shiver when they saw the dragon that had taken form from the young girl's weapon!

Because, beside from the Shadow Dragon and the Hellish Nightmare Dragon, there was another winged beast who had shocked them deeply... And that was none other than their own Sect's Guardians, the golden dragon Blindlight!

The two, a beast of flesh and bones and the true body of Xiao Wu's Black Dragon Aura Sword, they looked exactly the same! Only the color changed, everything else up to the slightest imperfection in the scales was the very same!

Ku Xong gulped as he backed off: as he looked at the black dragon in front of him, every single particle of his body was screaming, as if they sensed great danger!

He immediately gritted his teeth and took out a blank Paper Seal: he then bit his tongue and spat out a few drops of blood which fell on the blank paper sheet ordinarily, as if guided by some invisible hand.

The man's eyes were bloodshot as he took the new Paper Talisman, formed from the Paper Seal, and immediately threw it above his head. As soon as he did so, the paper trembled as it expanded and then folded like some sort of complex origami.

Soon, it took the shape of a tall warrior, completely made out of paper. Bloody, red runes could be seen glowing on every inch of the Paper Talisman Warrior's body, so close to the other that, if one was to look from a distance, he would think the paper warrior was not white but red instead!

The Paper Talisman Warrior roared as he waved his hand and a paper blade appeared, looking extremely imposing as well as powerful. Winds rose and forced everyone below the cultivation of the Superior stage to narrow their eyes and shield them from the wind.

Xiao Wu's eyes widened as her fighting spirit was aroused: she had not fought a worthwhile match in a long while. After all, the people in the Sect with her cultivation were all either much stronger or weaker than her, it was hard to find a good opponent!

Now though, even though it was thanks to a Talisman, she finally found the perfect target! The trembling that came from her right hand, controlling the Black Dragon Aura Sword, indicated... She could go all-out!

She grinned and showed off two perfect rows of teeth as her eyes burned with intense fighting spirit!

Quite some distance away, Goldy, Blacky, Iris and Aster were right in the middle of a certain conversation.

At this point, Blacky lifted his gaze from the ground: others couldn't, however he, as its creator, could see, hear, smell and feel past the strange barrier.

Although to others it was like an impenetrable wall, to him it was like a transparent veil that barely blocked the outside world from the top of the tower.

And right now, what he was seeing couldn't help but make him smile.

'To think... You would actually choose him as your Black Dragon Sword's Manifestation!' He eyed the sorrowful Blindlight and nodded:

'One is a genius that will undoubtedly shake the Heavens, a talent that surpasses any other I have seen before... The other is the Primordial Beast with the highest potential under Heaven! These two both have the potential to become a Deity! No... An Immortal!'

Blacky nodded as his lips rose upwards 'You sneaky bastard... When exactly did you allow her to feel your essence...'

Suddenly, his eyes lit up with understanding 'You... Don't tell me...'

The middle-aged man stared in shock and disbelief at Goldy, his eyes as wide as tennis balls.

He compressed his voice to a string, only for Goldy to hear: "You... Accepted her as your Karma Disciple? You gave her your Legacy?"

Blindlight saw Blacky's shocked gaze and pieced the puzzle together. He smirked "Oh? The girl's kicking butts out there?"

Blacky sighed and nodded "How in the world... Did she manage to convince you?"

Goldy's eyes glinted with amusement "She didn't. What you think is wrong..." he compressed his voice into a string "I have yet to accept any Karma Disciple nor have I given away my legacy yet!"

Blacky felt as if lightning hit his body, he immediately turned to look at the Black Dragon Aura Sword and his expression changed "Don't tell me... She understood it by herself?"

Goldy nodded and smiled bitterly "She understood the Essence of a Primordial Beast just by glancing at its physical body... Of course, she has just barely grazed the surface, however this talent is in no way inferior to what the brat had shown back in the days... I would even dare bet that hers is even better!"

The Primordial Beast smiled "Her talent is something this world, heck, even the True Heavens themselves, have never seen. This is why, this tournament will be the chance to slap her awake and show her that, no matter how much of a genius she is, there will always be something above you!"

"Only once one realizes this, will he finally be able to become not an extremely talented individual, but the greatest genius the world has ever seen! Xu Ling, he understood that, but took this too far..." Goldy smiled and his gaze soon filled with sorrow as he sighed.

As the two Beasts communicated, the two Ancients were confused: from their point of view, the middle-aged man and the golden dragon were competing in a staring contest. At times their eyes would flash with understanding at other shock and others even fear.

They didn't dare interrupt and waited peacefully...

...

Meanwhile, Xiao Wu and Ku Xong were engaged in a fierce battle, the Black Dragon and the Talisman Warrior exchanged blows nonstop and looked like they had similar, almost completely identical, levels of power. However, to those who had good eyes, they would be able to see that, no matter how the other struggled, the winner had already been decided!
