Chapter 10 - Alicia (Part 2)

The creepy song continued as she fell. Geometric patterns moved and writhed along with the sound, formed by it, conducted by the dark maestro. This was no mere movie playing behind her eyes, what was happening occurred within her whole being. Pifore-titu was barely aware of her body anymore, and the colors and shapes evoked deep memories, traumas, and impressions from her life all the way back to when she was a cub.

Pifore felt like a rain stick that was being turned over and over. A static vibration permeated her being, almost as if it were scanning and examining her. She tightened up in fear as she realized that she was being examined, scrutinized by an extra-dimensional being. It was like a gigantic, holographic mosquito that probed her with a sharp spiritual appendage.

Pifore thought it looked sinister, but it might be a Spiritual doctor about to perform work on her, so she tried to remain calm.

Then it plunged its proboscis-like mouth into Pifore-titu’s Dantien, and began sucking something out of her.

In the real world, this looked like Pifore falling over and clawing at her own stomach to the point of drawing blood. The maestro did not stop what he was doing.

The chanting had ended. He was playing a sharp bone flute that looked like a femur with the end broken off into a jagged point. The sound he was making didn't resemble music at all, more like a dentist’s drill that perfectly accompanied the aggressive Chi that was boring into Pifore’s body. The flute was producing at least three extremely high pitched tones that clashed with each other in a discordant drone that made the small bones of Pifore’s inner ear and skull vibrate.

Was the sound following the drill? Or was the drill following the sound? The drill… was the sound? Pifore didn’t know. All she knew was that her stomach felt bad. She wanted to throw up, but she couldn’t. Other dark entities were clinging to her now, keeping the Black Ayahuasca inside of her. She could just claw it out.

The man next to her, her “partner” grabbed Pifore-titu and began to bind her paws with rope so she wouldn’t disembowel herself. Pifore opened her eyes at the touch, bringing her back to the ceremony long enough to take a brief look around.

The maestro was on his feet now, slowly circling the cave. He approached each pair of participants, and pointed his needle of bone towards the crown of the pumas, while resting his left hand on the chest of each small man beside them. The buzzing became louder and louder, and Pifore could actually see tendrils of Chi or something flowing out of her family members and into the maestro. The profane geometry surrounding the maestro gripped them like a straight jacket, holding the pumas in place.

No wait, that’s just me. When did someone bind my legs?

A great fear overtook Pifore when she realized she was tied up and could not move. And then she was gone again; warping between apocalyptic scenes. She saw a Wolf Demon devouring the moon itself. She saw lightning striking all the tallest buildings in the world, reducing them to dust. She saw a mountain explode, blanketing the surrounding lands in ash. She saw a man with one foot in heaven and one foot in hell, carrying the entire planet on his shoulders. Where he stepped, lakes appeared. One full of life giving waters, the other filled with deadly poison. She saw a blonde woman in a hospital bed, whose eyes opened and met hers, and Pifore knew that the woman had seen her as well. Then Pifore saw Raella being torn apart in a burning forest by her Tribe. They were so engrossed with eating Raella they allowed the flames to consume them.

“Eat. Grow strong.” said Wisteria to Pifore, as her Grandmother offered her one of Raella’s back legs. The fur on the leg was melted onto the skin, and Wisteria was on fire. Her Grandmother’s right eye burst from the heat, and drained down to meet the blood around her mouth as she smiled at Pifore-titu.

The fire consumed Pifore as well, and she turned to ash and fell like rain before gathering together again into a river of blood. She crawled up on the shore and began to run as horrific black panther demons with six legs, thick horns, and engorged phalluses chased her across a barren, alien landscape for what felt like an eternity.

Pifore-titu thought she was dead. She believed she was in hell. This was her punishment for submitting to evil’s whims. She knew these were bad men, and she drank their poison anyway. Pifore was so stupid. She believed from the bottom of her heart that she would burn and suffer in this place for all time.

Pifore was so panicked she felt as if her heart was going to explode. She bounded over grey dunes made from partially powdered rodent skulls beneath a crimson sunless sky. Out of everything she witnessed, the eyes of that bedridden blonde woman were the most disturbing. She would never forget them. Eventually she slipped, impaling herself through the chest on a long wicked bone, and her eyes opened as if startled from a nightmare, only to find herself in another one.

The maestro was in front of her now. Going around the circle counter clockwise, he had arrived at her seat last. The flute was directed at Pifore’s head and she could feel pain–so much pain in her guts she could hardly stand it. She felt the presence of the man beside her increasing, as she continued to weaken. She met the maestro’s eyes, and his face seemed to shift. His tusk-like teeth grew longer and his normal human pupils transformed into a feline’s vertical slit. As they did, those hateful eyes began to glow a deep, purplish red.

Whether it was terror or exhaustion–Pifore couldn’t say, but when the maestro was done with her, she blacked out.

An unknown time passed. It could have been only minutes, but to her it felt like days. Pifore dreamed that an Anaconda was coiling around her body; not to crush her, but protect her. The cold blooded creature was enigmatically warm, and she felt the muscles in its huge body almost massaging her as they embraced.

Then the snake started to eat her.

Rather than be scared like before, Pifore trusted this Spirit and let it happen. Once inside the great serpent, it wasn’t claustrophobic at all. Pifore felt like she was floating in outer space. She was in space. Her eyes widened in wonder as she beheld the Milky Way amidst a sea of stars. The inside of this snake was infinite. Then, infinity became as small as an egg. Pifore was inside of it, waiting to be born. The shell of the egg gradually increased in transparency until it became a golden ball of light that merged with her aura and disappeared.

She found herself in a rainforest during the height of a brilliant spring day. The sun warmed her face and hummingbirds danced around her while a double-rainbow blessed the sky. The fragrant wind weaving through the jungle calmed Pifore’s traumatized soul.

A verdant puma the size of a human house grew out of the Jungle in front of Pifore. Its body was made of thick, bark-covered vines, which acted as both bones and muscles to create a near perfect golem out of plants. It gazed down at her with compassion and love through two perfect spheres of Amethyst that served as the puma’s eyes.

Pifore-titu started to weep. The green puma spoke no words, but she understood perfectly what it had to say:

“You are not alone, my precious child. I will be your Grandmother now.”

The great puma reached towards her and gently touched Pifore’s forehead with a single toe on her massive front paw. She felt as if cool water was flowing through her body, pouring down the crown of her head like a fountain. Then a blue box appeared in front of her face, which startled her to wakefulness.

Pifore-titu came back to consciousness with tears in her eyes. She was still hogtied, laying on her right side on the dirty ground.

Oh God, It’s still not over.

The music was different now–the horrible wailing of the bone flute was gone, replaced by the steady beat of drums. Pifore-titu was still hallucinating heavily, but the System message blocking her vision was perfectly clear amidst the distortions.

She dismissed the blue box swiftly without reading it.

Just a level up. At least that means I’m not dead…

The energy was different now, too. It felt much hotter in the cave than before. She was panting. With the bothersome box that was blocking her vision out of the way, Pifore stretched her neck to see what was happening.

She really wished she hadn’t done that.

In the center of the cave, rolling in the ash of the extinguished fire, Grandmother Wisteria was mating with an enormous black jaguar almost twice her size. The noises she was making were…

Pifore purged the contents of her stomach immediately, but she was tied up and so weak that she could barely move. She started to suffocate on her own vomit, unable to flip herself over.

The other men (who were now black jaguars somehow), were becoming impatient watching the maestro, and turned their predatory gaze to Pifore’s cousins and sisters. Three of the jaguars held skin drums in their front paws, rapping a rapid rhythm with their whip-like tails.

Her late Uncle’s daughter, Rose, apparently had thorns. When her “partner” tried to mount her, she fought back. Rose was immediately torn apart by the rest of the black jaguars. The drumming never stopped. Wisteria didn’t even stop her “activities” with the maestro while one of her granddaughters was being murdered in front of her.

Pifore was squirming like a pig at this point, almost welcoming the molesting touch of her partner if he would rescue her from choking to death. But instead of cutting her free or flipping her on her stomach, he turned her on her back, and began to lick the blood on her belly.

Pifore threw up in her own mouth again. She was really going to die now. She only had a few minutes without oxygen left.

Then she heard a strange noise underneath the black jaguar’s drums, coming from far outside the cave… Or was it coming from inside her head?

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!"

”WITCHES!!!”

“Thewitchesarehere!"

"Therearewitchesinthatcaverightnow!"

"GreatOneYoungMistressyouhavetoKILLTHEM!"

"Killthewitchesrightnowyouhavetoburnthemburnthemnow!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!”

The drumming stopped.

The jaguars by the cave entrance, busy with their carnal duties, found themselves beset upon by three very aggressive, loud, and ineffective owls, who raked at their heads with talons that were not up to task. It seemed as if these intruders would be quickly dealt with by the other jaguars (like Rose had been) but it was then that Elder Jihe arrived.

Appeared, really. One moment the man-turned-jaguar was nearing the end of his rut with her Grandmother, the next moment, a Japanese Tanto blade was plunged to the hilt through the maestro’s left eye. An ordinary looking Barn owl was perched on the handle of the dagger, its head swept the room like a radar dish, assessing the entire battlefield in a fraction of a second.

Time stopped for a moment as everyone looked at the owl, dumbstruck. Elder Jihe casually raised one talon, and removed the maestro’s right eye as if he were plucking a plum from a tree. Jihe calmly watched the light of life fade from the fleshy orb before the body burst into a cloud of sulfurous smoke and ash–blowing out the single candle on the altar, and shrouding the cave in darkness.

Chaos reigned after that. It sounded as if a bag full of wet, angry tomcats were thrown into a commercial dryer, and Elder Jihe had just pressed on.

“CLOSE YOUR EYES!” Jihe commanded in Chi speak English. He must have guessed the jaguar men from the South would not understand, and Pifore knew he was correct in that assumption.

There was a deafening BANG! and a flash of light so bright that Pifore was almost blinded even through her closed eyelids. She couldn’t hear a thing over the ringing in her ears. Blood splashed on her, someone stepped on her tail, and she was beginning to lose consciousness as vomit continued to block her trachea.

Then, Pifore felt a wet tongue on her face. Immediately, her bonds were cut and she was rolled onto her stomach by strong Canine paws. Pifore coughed, and puked again. The psychedelic visuals went wild and merged with the spots behind in her eyes as sweet, glorious oxygen entered her lungs once again. She was saved!

The tongue was back, licking up the Ayahuasca and whatever else was all over her. Pifore lovingly licked Raella’s face in return.

She tasted so good.

A flying frame drum struck Pifore-titu in the head, and she knew no more.
