Chapter 1: I have a huge problem

The Magical Academy of Ninhol

Ninhol Magical Academy, renowned for its numerous cutting-edge faculties, boasts an impressive reputation. Situated on the northern outskirts of Waco City, the academy's sprawling campus showcases architecture reminiscent of ancient European designs.

On this day, a multitude of elite magical transports could be seen at the academy gates. Young people, brimming with energy, emerged from these vehicles. Some exuded an air of elegance, others nobility, while a few appeared ordinary, attracting little attention.

The excitement surrounding the start of the academic year, however, failed to reach one quiet office belonging to a newly appointed teacher.

Inside a modestly yet tastefully furnished room, a desk covered in papers stood prominently. Behind it sat a remarkably young individual, no older than 22. Strangely, the young man's body hung limply, as if unconscious. Upon closer inspection, one could see a bubbling liquid seeping from his mouth. A few drops gradually fell onto the desk before the young man's dark red eyes suddenly snapped open.

As if scalded, he abruptly stood up, his bewildered gaze darting around the room. His sudden movement caused the chair to topple over with a loud thud, accompanied by the sound of shattering glass.

His attention quickly drawn, the young man looked toward the fallen chair. Beneath it lay shards of broken glass, surrounded by a slightly transparent liquid with a faint inner glow.

Still confused about the situation, the young man's eyes reflected his bewilderment. He couldn't discern whether this was a dream or reality.

Unconsciously, he crouched down and touched the liquid with his fingers. Immediately, he jerked his hand back as a sharp pain spread across his skin upon contact.

The pain seemed to jolt his mind, and in the next moment, unfamiliar memories flooded his consciousness. These fragments belonged to a man named Raven.

An orphan who grew up on the streets, the child faced numerous hardships until two faceless individuals adopted him. The memories abruptly ended after his adoption and arrival at his new home. They resumed with scenes of sword training, magic studies, and finally, his appointment as a teacher after achieving outstanding results.

The memories paused briefly once more before continuing with Raven becoming an instructor at the prestigious Ninhol Academy.

"What the hell? I was hit by a car while playing a game on my phone. How did I become Raven?" the young man muttered, clutching his black hair as he endured the headache from the influx of memories. The more he recalled, the more astonished he became, his breath catching in his throat.

"Why is this happening? How is this possible?"

Gritting his teeth, he gradually adapted to the pain while integrating Raven's memories. After some time, he finally sighed with relief as the pain subsided.

"So, now I'm Raven. I have these memories, and it seems I was killed by that liquid."

His gaze fell upon the slowly disappearing liquid on the floor.

"But what kind of liquid could have killed the previous owner of this body?"

After contemplating, he touched the liquid again, only to jerk his hand back as before. The sharp pain returned, and his skin appeared slightly reddened. However, the redness faded after a short while.

"Considering this is a magical world, it's not surprising that the body heals faster."

Sighing, he used his shoe to spread the liquid, hastening its disappearance. Looking around, he tidied up the desk and righted the chair. Finding a pair of black leather gloves, he put them on and began collecting the shattered glass container.

Finally, after cleaning everything up, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Alright, let's figure out what's going on here. I was just crossing the street, playing a game on my phone, when I didn't see a car and got into an accident. I woke up here, and based on the memories, this is a dangerous world of magic with advanced magical technologies. There's also information about unusual races hostile to humans.

Moreover, the energy called mana is extremely dangerous and can lead to catastrophes. In short, this world is very perilous and frightening.

Although Raven studied magic and fencing, he's not particularly strong; in fact, he's quite weak.

Damn, what am I supposed to do?"

Sitting at the desk, the more he thought about it, the more he felt surrounded by crisis. Although the academy seemed safe, who could say how long that would last? The memories showed that catastrophes were not uncommon.

He clearly felt uncomfortable and out of place here.

"How I wish I could go home, play games, and enjoy that life."

As he thought about the game before his death, suddenly he remembered something.

"Ah, I won't be able to play that game anymore anyway. I was using a plugin."

Thinking about what he had done before his death made him feel even worse. Because he didn't have money, he couldn't experience everything the game offered. In the end, he decided to use a plugin to fulfill his selfish desires.

Finally, he remembered his stats before losing consciousness from the accident. Surprisingly, as he recalled this while pondering what to do next, a familiar window suddenly appeared before him.

As he read the status description, he abruptly stopped at the race section, as it clearly wasn't "human" but rather "half-human and half-demon."

"Wait, so this body is half-demon?"

He shuddered as he spoke, for from Raven's memories, he clearly knew that humans and demons were completely incompatible. And now the game's status panel showed that he was half-demon.

After thinking for a while, suddenly a certain word appeared in his consciousness. His gaze shifted to the spot where the remaining puddle of liquid had been.

"Most likely, the liquid on the floor was holy water."

The more he thought about it, the more wary he became, feeling an extreme sense of crisis. Due to his mental activity, he also felt his heartbeat accelerating. Panic began to rise within him.

"Okay, stop. I need to calm down quickly and think."

Speaking to himself, he took rapid breaths in and out just to calm down. Thinking, he looked around, wanting to find water to drink. Finally, his gaze fell on a small piece of furniture in the corner of the room, inside which stood a carafe of water.

Quickly stepping over, he opened the furniture and was about to take the water when suddenly a faint sweet smell hit his nose. Subconsciously, he reached out and felt behind the furniture, soon retrieving a small container from a hidden place.

But what caught his attention more was that inside the container was a scarlet liquid. Feeling the scent, it clearly came from this container. Thinking, he uncorked the lid of the container and inhaled.

In the next second, his eyes narrowed sharply. Although the smell felt sweet, he clearly sensed the scent of blood.

Looking at the scarlet liquid, several thoughts immediately appeared in his head.

"Did the original owner know he was a demon? But why don't I have any memory of him being a demon?"

He was able to confirm the fact due to the container of blood found here. Demons love blood very much.

His eyes darted back and forth.

"Besides, the holy water was sent as a gift. However, not knowing what was inside, Raven carelessly tried it and died. So someone possibly knows he's a demon?"

Quickly closing the lid of the small container, he put it back in its hidden place and nervously returned to the desk. Sitting at the desk, nervously clenching his hands, he tried to figure out what to do.

"Although I seem to have died, now I'm in another body. Moreover, it's half-demon, and more importantly, who knows if there will be the same situation with reincarnation after another death."

Glancing at the nearby window, he could vaguely see a young face reflected in the glass.

"So what should I do now?"

It seemed that while he was thinking, his mood gradually calmed down, allowing him to finally analyze and think about something.

"Someone is either checking on Raven or wanted to kill him, and it's clear that I can't say why. There are huge missing fragments of memory, which is why I can't fully think about the situation of his life.

Now it seems the only way to protect myself is to become stronger. If that doesn't work, I just need to run away from here. However, I clearly can't leave the academy now. Because new teachers need a necessary pass to leave. Due to fencing, Raven was assigned as a fencing instructor, but considering that he was weak, there were also some falsified things later.

The only option is to rely on status and the possibility of becoming stronger in the academy. Moreover, a fencing instructor doesn't have many obligations. If I manage to survive for some time, I can naturally leave the academy and possibly hide somewhere."

Lost in thought, he didn't notice how he calmed down and reasoned calmly. Although his new life was in danger.

In his dark red eyes, a gleam slowly appeared, reflecting how clear a goal he had set for himself.

Setting himself the goal of acting covertly, he again turned his attention to the status window.

"It seems experience is required to increase skill levels. Moreover, in the game, there were also no character levels; rather, battles were decided by skill levels and effectiveness of use. However, from Raven's memory, it's clear that there are extremely powerful beings in this world, both humans and demons and other races.

Will I become very powerful if I max out my skills or not? This definitely needs to be figured out, and besides, as in the game, different skills have different amounts of experience points, but how do I get experience?"

Thinking, he looked at the new fencing skill and then at the thin sword placed in the office on a special piece of furniture to the side.

Approaching, he picked up the sword. Although it looked thin and was about a meter long, it was quite heavy. Looking at the thin and straight sword, Raven thought.

"Following the logic of games, you need to kill monsters to get experience. However, in reality, you can also gain experience, that is, gain mastery by swinging a sword, right?"

He raised the sword following the memories received from Raven and stood in a standard combat position.

Feet apart, straight back, holding the sword with both hands.

Mimicking the memories, he did the same, and finally swung the sword. When he thought something would happen, however, nothing occurred. Sighing, he again took a stance and swung again. And once again, nothing happened, there was no notification of gaining experience. He also looked at the status window, where nothing had changed either.

"Well, how do I get experience?"

Speaking, he looked at the blade. It was slightly dark in color, but still looked sharp. Looking around, his gaze finally fell on a wooden coat rack near the door.

In the next second, without hesitation, he swung the sword again. The sword justified its sharpness, passing through the wood like paper, leaving a cut.

The coat rack fell to the ground and split in two.

Looking at this situation, Raven already thought that probably the first option was correct. However, suddenly a small window with an inscription flashed before his eyes.

[ Skill: Fencing (experience +1 * 1000)]

Thinking that he had finally succeeded, he suddenly noticed something abnormal. That is, in the window about the notification of receiving experience, there was also another thing.

"Wait, is this? Isn't this the plugin I used even here?"

Without thinking, he quickly opened the status window and immediately saw

[Fencing [Level 2: 1231/10000]]

"Did this really work?"

Feeling the growing nervousness and excitement from what was happening, he looked at the coat rack again. In the next second, he aligned half of the coat rack and aimed the sword.

Another sharp blow came, and the coat rack was cut again. However, this time Raven aimed at a small section so that the coat rack could be used more.

Another such notification appeared. Raven became even more enthusiastic, now he was more interested in what would happen if the skill reached level 3.

Frantically swinging the sword, he kept seeing window after window.

[ Skill: Fencing (experience +1 * 1000)]

[ Skill: Fencing (experience +1 * 1000)]

[ Skill: Fencing (experience +1 * 1000)]

[ Skill: Fencing (experience +1 * 1000)]

[ Skill: Fencing (experience +1 * 1000)]

…..

Soon the skill finally reached level 3, following which Raven felt something change in him. Subconsciously, he adjusted his movements, stance, breathing, and posture. All those aspects that would affect fencing were corrected, causing him to realize that his strikes became at least one and a half times stronger, besides this, speed also increased, and endurance consumption decreased.

"This! This really works!"
