I Want to do BA

I Want to do BA

There was a Pindrop silence in the class.

Nobody had ever dared to talk back in the class like that.

There was one more issue. The students in the classes were chosen not by choice but by chance. They had to pass several tests and competitive exams just to be in this class.

But this guy wanted to change the courses now. It was unbelievable.

“Why do you want to change this course?” Professor Rangaraj asked Calmly. But his clenched fists were somewhat visible.

Raman spoke somewhat unhurriedly,” I think this course is not my cup of tea. I can’t even understand what you were saying to me now. After struggling with this course, I think this course is getting more and more difficult. So instead of struggling with this course I can quit it when it is possible and do something that is in which I am good at.”

After listening to this Rangaraj. He was thinking that this student wanted to humiliate him in the class but it turned out he was wrong. Even the students started murmuring.

“Ok” hearing the lecturer’s authoritative voice, silence reigned once again.

“But you have come this far. Even tests have not started yet. How can you be sure that you are a failure? Once you give a test and pass the exam you may get confidence in yourself? Just wait until the test is over.” Lecturer Rangaraj said somewhat soothingly. Even he could not understand why he was talking so kindly when his usual policy regarding students was to go to hell.

But Raman was not in the mood to listen to anyone. “No Sir, I want to quit ahead of time. I want to join BA”

Suddenly everyone stared at him once again. They were absolutely bewildered.

Ok, we understand that you don’t want to do Forensic Sciences. It is a tough subject and not everybody can understand or cope up with it. But why do you want to study B.A?

It was like going from a roller coaster to a horse round ride in the amusement works.

Even Lecturer Rangaraj was ashamed. But as a lecturer he maintained his open-mindedness and said, “Ok then, please wait till the class is over. Then you can go and talk to the principal”, then without waiting for a further response he started lecturing once again.

But no one is in the mood to listen to the lecture.

Raman looked around. Seeing that no one was staring he leaned on his desk and closed his eyes.

His worry was not failing the test. But acing it!
