“You understand that you are making a huge mistake, right? As an associate in the Criminal investigation Department, the risk is higher, but the opportunities are also high. You can be more in this department rather than in classes where you don’t have any future.” Principal Sheshan tried to explain the benefit of the course. It was the first time he was trying to do an advertisement for the course. Otherwise, once the college announced the dates of the exam students would come flocking around.
“I know my strength and my weakness. It is not that I have any bias towards this course. but I want to do something else. I don’t want to do something which I will be regretting later” Raman was adamant.
At that point in time, Lecturer Rangaraj came inside the office. He still could not believe what he was seeing though. After explaining the issue, he was told to leave the office by the principal.
After confirming that Lecturer Rangaraj the principal turned to Raman,” So are you sure you want to transfer the course?”
“Yes, Sir”
“Then why did you join in the first place?” the principal asked the question that was bugging him.
“See sir, the one which I said before is true. I don’t want to do the Criminal Detective course which I have no interest in…. What I want to do is something which I have an interest in even if it does not attract fame or money. The key is that I should be happy with it.” Raman said with conviction.
It took some time for the principal to ingest his words.
“So, if you are given an opportunity which course are you going to consider?”, Principal Sheshan asked curiously.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“Well, I am considering BA in English literature or something like that,” Raman said after pondering for a while.
“Whether your parents are agreeing with your decision?” the principal asked curiously. He was thinking of using his parent’s disagreement to persuade this guy into continuing the course.
“I don’t think that will be an issue. I am the one who is deciding my own future, right?” Raman asked him.
Principal Sheshan thought for a moment and asked, “Are you sure you want to continue with your decision? You can take a day’s time, cool yourself down, and think about it calmly. If you are still affirmative about your decision then we can change the courses. Is it all right with you?”
“Ok, sir. But please keep the transfer papers ready.” Raman said. Then bowed down to the principal and went out of the cabin.
As he closed the door a sigh went out of his mouth.
“Sure enough, it is still tough to argue in front of the principal. Even though you have a lifetime of experience” he thought.
As Raman entered the class he was surrounded by whispers. Suddenly a haughty voice came “So you want to go away from the class? So, are you afraid of competing with me now?”
Raman looked in the direction of the voice. A lady was sitting at the end of the room. She was surrounded by a group of girls. They were also looking at him in mocking eyes.
Miss Alya Rimiban.
A highly competitive girl. She did not anyone to be higher than her. She wanted to be the center of attention even though she was not in the class.
In the last lifetime, there was a high rate of competitiveness between him and her. This had resulted in more bullying, fewer friends in the course, and more mocking. If it was not for his goal, he would have quitted the course a long time ago.
Alya looked at him condescendingly. She wanted to see the look of defeat in Raman. But she did not expect to see one thing-Ignorance.
It was like a child throwing tantrums, and the adult ignoring because he did not want to come to the level of the child.
Alya stood up,” So you think you are safe once you leave the course? Do you think I don’t have a handle on you? Just Remember one thing…I have many connections. I have to just mention your name …and then they will make your life miserable. So don’t think you can stagger in front of me. You understand!!”
Raman looked at her. Now you could see a glint in the corner of his lazy eyes.
“Just Try.”
