Part 1

"Hey, Ben!" A small kid with a ponytail ran up to Ben. Ben was a normal student in the school. He was sixteen years old. And loved by childrens.

"Oh hey, Star! How're you doing?" The boy answered cheerfully, but the atmosphere around him seems stranger and more morbid today.

 Ben usually was a happy cheerful guy who played with Star since who knows when. His wisdom and intelligence in science is top-class. Especially biology. He always laughs and help others. But lately, the atmosphere around him seems stranger than usual. And he laughs lesser everyday. 

"What's the matter, Ben?" The innocent little girl asked out in concern. The boy was staring at the television screen sadly. The girl's eyeballs followed and she also watched the television.

Once again, the Isis had caused another catastrophe. And many countries are starting a war on each other. Many innocents in Syria and the countries around it were mercilessly bombed by US and Russian drones.

Ben could no longer bear it and shut down the news report television. The world was filled with malice. He hated himself for not ignoring it. If he was a bit more stupid, he can live a carefree life.

"Ben, will the war start? Will we die?”

Ben was surprised at those words, and he smiled. He patted the little girls head. Star was an orphan who had no mother or father, nor any relatives. 

"Star, I've used what little money I had to send you to England... I have already prepared a school for you.”

"Eh! But I love Thailand!”

"This is a serious matter... Please believe me. A huge disaster will happen. And I will be the one who caused it.”

"You're doing something bad?”

"Yes and No. Star... I don't want you to get caught up in this.”

"You must come and meet me again okay?”

"Okay." Ben lied to the pure girl. He knew he would die anyways from using 'Hope'. Star then was sent to study abroad.

Not too many days later. The Cyclops appeared. And Star saw Ben's face on the screen. She felt a new kind of power surged through her. But she doesn't care and stared at Ben.

The boy's face was heavy with guilt and resolution.

Over at Ben. He had activated 'Hope' and was ready to die. But before he did, he thought about his promise with Star. And when he was about to disappear, 'Hope' corresponded to his feelings and used his body and some dark matter to create a new 'Ben' with the exact same personality and characteristics as Ben. The clone took time to finish and was instilled with some memory from Ben.

And that was how it started.

Part 2

(That dream again…)

Ben woke up from his dream. And he breathed heavily. The memory of the real 'Ben' was still lingering, and he disliked it.

(Who was that little girl anyways?) He thought out slowly as he stood up. It was 6:30 in the morning on Saturday, and the red sun was already appearing over the horizon.

Sarah was still sleeping soundly in her bed. Today was a holiday, so no rush was needed, Ben had a strange habit of waking up early. However.

The lonely cloned boy to the veranda. And stared at the academy, this academy was filled with buildings, parks, dormitories, training grounds, etc. But the thing that stood out more than any other is probably the large arena in the centre of all buildings. It's used to host tournaments in the school and such.

Mark stared at the scene and enjoyed the breeze for a while. Before walking back to the room and touched the wall besides his bed. Luckily, internet still exists and Mark can still find his favorite stories that either were finished or left alone due to the author being dead from the assault.

(Master of Combat in a Different is still going on... Hooray! Index is still unfinished after all these years, man just how many books can Kamachi write!) Ben cheerfully looked around the screen with interest.

The way the world's technology has evolved for multiple times made the teenager boy surprised. The normal everyday life memory from the old 'Ben' is still as clear as day. Unfortunately, some of his most important memories were either blurred or erased. Ben stared at his body again, and he slowly walk out of the room to inspect the academy. Leaving the cute sleeping Sarah behind.

He was still I awe no matter how many times he walked through the academy grounds. The whole place was lot up with special lights and fancy buildings. There were robots all around cleaning stuff up. Ben also realized one more thing.

(There's royalty!?) Looks like the people still needs a public figure to rely on at all times, and the royal family of Thailand still exist. Ben was a half blood between Thai and British. So his looks can be said to be a little odd. Thailand's royalty is one of the few royalties around the world that did something memorable and benefitted the country despite the democracy government.

The food culture of Thailand have truly spread since the war. He saw stands with Thai food and other foods in Asia all around. He of course gave them all a little try and was truly impressed.

The people around may see Ben and thought of the man many years before. But the notion seemed too extreme and they dismissed it immediately. Ben can walk peacefully without attracting too much attention.

"Hey, you over there!" A large boy suddenly walked over to Ben. The surrounding people knew that the A class lives to pick on the class lower than them. And averted their gaze. Mark was still busy eating and thus doesn't notice the yell. And the large muscular boy closed in.

"I heard you're roommates with Sarah. I want you to hand over that authority to me immediately!”

"HM? You want to sleep in my room? I'm sorry but I gotta decline. I like my room as it is. And packing things is annoying." Ben politely replied back to the big boy. And a vein seemed to pop in the mysterious boy's face.

"Do you know who I am, kid? I am Conner, A rank #17.”

"Good for you.”

"You dare mock me, Plebian!!!!" Conner raised his fist and smashed the ground. Ben had already by instinct dodged it and retreated away. He then saw the man I front of him getting larger.

"My esper power increases the growth of muscle cells exponentially. The effect can be active for up to 30 minutes!!" Conner smashed the ground where Ben stood before dodging."and I will have immense regenerative power and strength in the span of this time!!”

Ben had quickly retreated away and watched his enemy. Conner was now bulging with muscle. And he grew to seem like a gorilla. The hand that was wounded from smashing the ground was quickly healed. Ben then decided not to bother him any further.

"I have no intention to fight with you. I am sorry for accidentally saying rash words”

"Too late!!" Conner seemed to plan for Ben to retaliate with his words in the first place. He wants to show dominance to the new students to protect his own authority.

(Fighting him would be too troublesome. And attract too much attention.) Ben thought and decided to slowly stall the gorilla for 30 minutes.

They were about to engage when a loud sound that of a woman was voiced out.

"This is the disciplinary committee. According to code 08 of the esper academy institute. No infighting in the school is allowed unless it is arranged in the arena or training ground, allowed by the teacher, or an emergency situation extreme enough to lift the code!" Selendis suddenly stepped out from the crowd of onlookers. Her rank was B 06, pretty high than most people.

"Tch! Remember this, plebian!" Conner stomped away wildly, his bulging muscles slowly receding into his body until his size was normal again. Ben stared at him and moved his eyesight to his savoir.

"Thanks Selendis.”

"It's normal, those A ranks loves to think of themselves as gods or deities, and boss around usually. This event is normal in the academy." Selendis proudly puffed out her near-flat chest. She seems to be proud of her disciplinary work.

"Well, since you're here. Can you bring me to some other places in this academy?”

"HM? Sure, the disciplinary committee must always support a lost student!" With that, Ben and the beautiful girl with black hair went towards the shopping centre.

"Now that I've think of it, you are one of the few who haven't got their hair colored... You know, changed.”

"Well, I can be considered rare in this case. You also have a black hair though.”

"Haha, its just luck. What is your esper power anyways?" The boy decided to change the subject into something else and kept the conversation flowing smoothly.

"My power is I can analyze the power of the people who is my opponent and judge what to do," Selendis answered "but I fight using my battle suit better than most, that's mainly the reason I'm the top in B rank.”

"Hoh~ that's cool." Ben praised the girl as he goes on. The suits will automatically try to compromise with the wearer, but in rare cases it will evolve.

The shopping centre was filled with different kinds of genres. Food, clothing, jewelry, etc. Ben was guided first into a book store. The books here were more focused on teenagers. It is an academy, after all. Ben was relieved that many of his favorite series were still available.

The next place they visited were the food shop. The food in here are already mostly tried by Ben. But Selendis insisted that they visit the famous shop. The menus are really expensive, however.

"I can take care of this." Selendis was proudly picking up her wallet. Usually, moneys are given to students according to ranks and jobs taken. There is an annual income for each rank from S to D, S gets the highest while D got the lowest income. 

But being a disciplinary committee member had gotten Selendis extra cash. Selendis was quite a rich girl, you can say. She had toured Ben throughout the academy without the fears of lightening up her wallet.

"So are you, Christina, and Alice teammates?" 

"Yes! I usually analyze the Cyclops and Drags and tell the other two how to fight with it most effectively. Alicia's power is , and she can literally lift boulders from the ground. She uses it only when she is extremely serious. I've rarely seen her doing it though. Alicia hates Cyclops more than any of us because her parents were killed in the first assault.”

“Oh..."

"Well, anyways, tours over! Its getting late so you should go to your room too!" Selendis cheerfully said as she had already finished her meal on the table. 

"Well, Thanks for the tour today.”

"No problem~”

Part 3

Sarah was staring at the mirror. Her hair was pure white like her pale skin. Her chest wasn't too big, but her beauty could make any man drool. Usually, people will look at her as if she wasn't human in the first place, like an angel saving a lost sheep according to Christian ways. But Ben treated her as a normal girl for the first time in her life. And her life had been slowly changed. Ben had been making fun of her, teasing her, playing cards with her, and cheerfully talk to her like any other girl. And doesn't care whether she was an S or a D. And she felt... Strange, like a ripple spreading in her.

Now, Ben wasn't on his bed this morning, so it had been a boring day than usual. She had always subconsciously looked forward to having a time with Ben.

(Well, I've been getting too used to him lately...) The girl thought as she picked up her favorite book. The book were one of her ways to relieve stress or boredom. S rank usually will be reserved as the last resort for the academy institute and the military, so she usually had free time anyways.

Then, a knock came at the door. Ben entered the room slowly and greeted Sarah with a smile.

"Hello there, Sarah. I've found some cookies around so I bought them for you!" Ben casually took out all the biscuits he had and handed them to Sarah. Sarah was a little shocked and slowly reached for the cookies.

"Where did you go today?”

"Oh, I went with Selendis on a trip to the academy grounds. We went to various places around the city, it was really fun!" Ben jovially said out as he grabbed a piece of cookie and nibbled on it.

"You could have asked me..." Sarah whispered to herself.

"HM, what?”

“Nothing!"

"Oh well…"

"ATTENTION, ALL STUDENTS BELOW B #20 RANK WILL GO TO THE EVACUATION CENTER IMMEDIATELY! REPEAT CYCLOPS ARE ATTACKING THE SCHOOL GROUNDS, ALL STUDENTS BELOW B #20 MUST EVACUATE!” A loud voice from the announcer suddenly rippled through the academy. Sarah suddenly showed a serious expression. She quickly went to the back room and prepared her suit.

“Hm? An attack? I thought the academy was…”

“No time to talk, you should run away immediately! If those monsters were able to reach here, you would be in grave danger!” Sarah ordered Mark to run away while she will fight this monstrosity. Deep in her heart, she doesn’t want the boy to die on her.

“Okay~ I’ll go to the evacuation centre then, where is it by the way?”

“Near the main building in the 8th or 9th district I think.”

“Thanks~”

Sarah shot out of the window with high speed. S rank can do anything they desire if the level of danger exceeds a certain point. Sarah activated her boosters and bursted through the academy gates. The cyclops army was far huger than she had thought. Luckily they were made of class B and Cs, so it made things much easier.

Sarah activated her esper power and suddenly, a large amount of cyclops collapsed to the ground. Sarah’s amor was evolving, it is turning into  a new kind of stage. Sarah’s power is now influencing the amor into the esper form she desired. The amor turned green and Sara said out her honour word.

“The amor world’s law is my power, Gravity control!!!” Hoards cyclops were crushed with that power. And they felled. This is the true power of the S rank class 5. Sarah can easily destroy an army of class B and C cyclops easily.

Then a new terror appeared. It was a class A cyclops. Its huge size can make a man cower in fear as it strides through the line of cyclops corpse.

“Mother ship, enroute. Warrior Sarah, please move back as we commence purification of these beasts. Mother core charging up in power, 70% ready to fire a class 3 laser in 4 minutes. Prepare for countdown.”

Sarah in her glittering green amor retreated as the class A cyclops army kept on closing in. Class A have a very strong power to destroy enemies and resist esper powers. Sarah could kill them all in one turn but that would require too much concentration and time. But the mother ship can do the job much more effectively.

“Fire!!” A large beam of laser powered by 2 nuclear fusion reactors in the ship wiped out the class A in a swift. After that, there were many squads of dispatched form the mother ship, one of them is Alicia’s squad. A famous squad said to rival even an S rank when banded. Alicia instantly lifted a huge rock from the ground and tossed it at the cyclops army. The army was pelted by rains of huge boulders. Alicia’s telekinesis powers is truly something to be feared. Selendis is now analysing the enemy as she controlled her amor to fight with the cyclops. Christina is just casually blasting away the enemies. This section apparently is one of the many which were attacked.

Cyclops were ravaging the academy but many mother ships are already dispatched to engage and take them down one by one. Sarah was sure that nothing would stop them from winning until…

“GRRRRRR GOOOOORRRORRO!!!!!” A roar that seems to pierce the heavens was heard throughout the academy. Sarah stared at shock and heard a loud Boom! behind her. The mothership was attacked by something and it fall down. The mothership? In one shot?

Sarah and the Alicia’s squad looked back and saw what took down the mothership. It was something that shouldn’t go unnoticed till now, yes it was a Class B Drag. Drags are creatures that are different from cyclops. It has more intelligence, and some can converse if it is in Class A-S. Class B drags needed 15 A ranks or 60 B ranks to defeat them. And requires 2 S rank. However, that is the case if there ‘was’ only 1 B class Drag.

2 more emerged from the pile of cyclops corpses below. Its number is growing terrifyingly as it emerged. Sarah knew that the place she currently was protecting is one of the most important point since it is very near to the evacuation shelter where B # 50 ranks and below are staying. Including Ben.

Sarah knew she can’t stop now, and Alicia’s squad is still fighting. They also knew how important their positions are.

The drag shot out more rays of plasma. The rays can pulverise almost anything. It is a one hit kill KO. It’s large body towers over the warriors and they continued to fight with no restraint. Sarah had at times increased the gravity in certain places to push the monster down, but it kept on coming back because of its enormous strength and large size.

The fight between the and the has begun.

Part 4

Ben is not in the evacuation shelter. Right now, he was cloaked in a thin layer of dark matter. Dark matter doesn’t reflect light. Its parameters doesn’t allow it to. Ben was using his transparent wings to fly around the academy. Right now, he may look like a black spot in the sky, but most people will ignore something that isn’t detectable by radar.

The cyclops are truly dangerous. Its power is obviously above human’s. Ben watched as he flew around. Sometimes he will interfere a little to keep the alive, but mostly just watched. Ben doesn’t want to attract too much attention.

The boy just watched on until…

Part 5

“Kuh!!!”

The huge monster swung its humongous arm at a terrifying speed at Christina. Christina used an air burst to propel herself away from it just in time. They had been fighting this monster for more than 10 minutes now, but it showed no signs of weakness.

“Please wait, our capital fleet will reach you soon!!!” A voice from a speaker near her head spoke out and in the background she heard the sound of the mothership’s engine working itself. The fleet surely can take down the 2 remaining Drags, but it will not arrive in time at this rate. At least they destroyed one Drag, but that exhausted them to a dangerous amount.

“Make it fast, we can’t hold on these beasts much longer! Tch!!” Alice also encouraged the mothership. The only reason they’re still alive is due to Sarah helping to stop the monster in certain places and Selendis analysing its moves.

“Ah!!!” Christina was blown away by a kinetic shell from the monster. She crashed into the floor and quickly retreated. They can’t hold out for much longer, at this rate…

(We’ll be killed and the shelter-!) Sarah saw one of the Drag destroyed the walls, and entered the academy, she closes her eyes as it shot another plasma beam at the shelter when…

“Welp, looks like I made it just in time.” BOOM! The drag was suddenly blown backwards by a mysterious figure. He had a white cloak all over his body, hiding his face and eyes. The man suddenly grew wings and a mysterious substance flew up above. It condenses and merged itself into something like a large cannon.

“” A huge shell suddenly shot out and smashed into the 2 remaining Drags. It blew them away and they fell to the ground. The cloaked white man with a hood then looked at them with great interest.

“Hm… Not enough to pierce them… What energy should I use to kill them then?” Dark matter makes up the universe more than Atoms. They are not something that theoretically exists. It is something that shouldn’t exist.

“Well, lets try this then” Ben’s wings spreader out far and wide, before it all turn sharp and shot down at the Drags with intense speed. The drags roared in pain as the humongous rain of sharp bullets kept on hitting them.

The drags tried to shoot back plasmas and strange liquid substance capable of melting any armor. But that doesn’t apply to Ben’s dark matter. Ben looked at them, and he created a huge hammer made of Dark Matter before smashing it down at the Drags. The Drags tried to retaliate and roared in wrath.

Ben then once again looked at the enemy. He slowly raised his hands and the wings spreader out. Dark Matter can become just about anything. Including terrifying weapons. The wings then shot out rays of lasers at the Drags. The drags were rained down by the immeasurable amount of lasers. It quickly retreated and it still continued trying to fight back.

Ben hasn’t used his trump card yet, but he saw how dangerous things are getting, so he decided to ask the girls for help. He knew his own limits, and the drags will be hard to bring down even with

“Unbelievable…” Selendis stared at the scene in horror. But she knew that the Drags won’t be stopped so easily, until a sound came from her speaker.

“Um… I’m lazy so can you do your fusion attack thing? It’ll make things quicker.” Sarah heard it and immdieatly called for the others to gather. There is an attack that can only be activated by the amor by combining the raw power of the arbor’s generators.

Alicia continued to stare before she also joined with her squad. The angel looking man was still shooting big shells at the Drag, and slowly wearing it down. He looked bored at the encounter, and paid the Drag no heed.

The special weapon continued charging on and on. But the mysterious man was still there, he is constantly pushing the monsters back with out any sweat visually seen on his face.  Then, after some time without interference, the charging was finally finished.

“!!!!>” The power was already finished charging up and a huge wave of raw esper power shot out towards the Drags. The power was raw esper, no change. Just raw, but very effective in targeting huge targets. The drags were easily pulverised and was erased from this world.

“We… we did it!!!” Christina shouted out happily as she stared at the corpse. She was jumping in joy as the others were also smiling.

“Hm? Where did that angel go?” Alicia asked in curiosity. Ben had already retreated and went someplace else. He quickly flew away once the fight had been confirmed to be finish. The capital fleet was closing in, so he made the right choice.

The capital fleet was surprised that the drags were taken down and rejoiced. They praised the 4 at the scene. Although the brave warriors had told them about the white man. None of them found a clue about him and just told the girls it was probably a hallucination.

This day was labeled down in the data history as one of the largest assults. Many sections of the academy was destroyed. The cyclops were later stopped by the capital ship one by one. The people in the evacuation shelters are all safe, except in some places. The government had now made new measures to defend the academy. Although they are attacked furiously, the academy had made thousands of countermeasures, so repelling it wasn’t too big of a surprise.

Sarah was walking back to her room, and when she entered.

“Hey Sarah, how’s the attack?” Ben indifferently said out as he was playing a video game. He was looking as cheerful as ever.

“We quelled, did you know-

The talk between the boy and the girl normally goes on. And the world continues to move.
