Wolfs were biting into angels, tearing them limb by limb, armor proved futile to these beasts ferocious bites. Others were luckier and dodged these beasts attacks continuing with a swift swipe of their swords completely cutting the wolfs in half, pouring their guts out.
Angels were thrashing their swords at demons, aiming exactly for the cracks between their armor, those who couldn’t block would see one of their limbs completely sliced off while unluckier ones would get their heads completely severed off. Leaving their lifeless bodies crashing with the ground below with a big blast. They were all powerful beings and every single piece of armor looked heavy and filled with magical properties.
Other angels were gliding through the air on griffins, many were using bows while others used long spears to strike and run. Hydras were snapping at them, some successful and others not so much. One head had managed to grab a griffin and its owner, the man tried to jump out of its mouth but it was too late, the hydra bit hard and munched on them both with a satisfied devilish grin on its face.
Demons mounted dire wolfs as they sprinted across the battlefield, they sliced at their foes as the beasts rapidly dodged attacks. Blood was spraying all around, there wasn’t a single person without blood on themselves, whether it be theirs or not. The two armies were on par with no apparent weaker side.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
Explosions started to occur all around the battlefield without any form of pattern. Men were sent flying, some lost parts of their bodies and others directly exploded splashing blood all around.
All the fighting had suddenly stopped after the chain of explosions, but Adir could still hear intense fighting. As he looked towards the direction the battling came from he saw it was the woman and the man who had previously led the attack. They were a bit higher up in the sky then the armies were, probably to have a one on one duel, Adir thought.
They were moving at incredible speeds, the man’s double headed glaive would continuously strike at the woman not allowing her the chance to attack. She could only block, her broad silver shield didn’t have even the slightest dent from receiving all the continuous attacks. The man suddenly jumped back a few meters and began to say some words but Adir couldn’t understand.
Using this as an opportunity the woman rushed forward, with her shield in front and her long sword to the side she slashed at the man. Her long sword was an inch from reaching the man when time seemed to have slowed down. When she had realized it, the man was gone. Her sword had struck air but the momentum of it sent an insanely strong force forward, as it traveled through the air it made a chain of explosions until it struck the ground.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
She was shocked, not because of her power but because the man had ultimately tricked her. She was about to turn around when she felt a blade stab into her from behind.
SCHTSHH
She felt the coldness of the blade slowly traverse her back and poke out her stomach. She felt liquid coming up her throat, she hadn’t ever thrown up blood. This would be the first, it’d also be her first loss.
COUGH
As the coughed up blood so blade was retrieved leaving a large gap in her stomach.
I will kill you with me! – as she thought this she turned around to see the man smiling at her. The smile of a victor, the man let his guard down. He had wounded her heavily, it’d be easier from here on out.
As he thought this the woman threw her shield at him, being caught off guard he wasn’t expecting this. He swung his glaive at the shield, with a huge BAM it flew off into the land quickly losing sight of it. As he returned his attention to the woman he grew nervous, she was gone and would probably do the same thing to him. Not daring to miss a second he rushed forward, once he stopped he searched and searched but she was nowhere to be found.
The man glanced at the armies and noticed them all watching something even higher up in the sky. He quickly looked up only to see the woman holding her sword up. Hundreds of hundreds of swords began to appear, she used the shield as a distraction in order to use her swords special technique!
He rushed to her, trying to stop her from finishing but it was too late. She slowly aimed her sword at him and grinned, followed by the hundreds of swords all rushing at him. He grabbed his glaive and began to block all the incoming attacks but they were far too many. Small scratches began to appear on his skin, hair was being cut off and blood began to flow from all the cuts. What were first small scratches were beginning to get larger and thicker.
It proved too difficult even for him to block this attack, after what he felt was an eternity the attacks finally stopped. He was out of breath and wounded, he looked up to see the woman but she wasn’t there.
D-Damn..her! – he thought. He knew what came next.
The woman was behind him, she wanted to repay the favor. Her sword sliced into the man’s upper back and ripped out of his chest. She grinned from ear to ear while blood flowed from her mouth as her sword pierced the man.
As she retrieved her swords she coughed up even more blood and slowly started to fall, the man too had begun to fall. The prince of the demon army had fallen as did the princess of the angel army. The two armies couldn’t continue to fight. They needed to retrieve their prince/princess and have them attended. Both armies had stopped attacking and retreated with their commanders.
The tears in the sky from before had reappeared, the only ones to stay behind were those who had lost their lives. There wasn't even a winner, it had all been for naught.
The battle had been so quick, Adir was at a loss for words. Why was he seeing all this, and where was this?
As Adir glanced at the ground below, he couldn’t believe this was the same land from before.
What was a beautiful land a while ago had been turned into hell itself. Bodies upon bodies could be seen scattered across the entire area for miles to every side, a metal stench had filled the air. Craters of all sizes had deformed the land. It was unrecognizable and not a single animal could be seen. The villages were gone with no trace in sight of whether they had even existed. These two armies had arrived in a beautiful land and left a deserted, uninhabitable, bloody hell.
