Senior Edina said, "Once I’m done with them, we need to move north since the captors are coming from the south. There’s a big chance they have more people with them in the south."
Lin retorted, "‘Once I’m done with them?’ You’re talking as if you’re going to kill them. Cripple, stop daydreaming."
Just as Senior Edina was about to respond, she sensed the Qi of the three captors approaching. They were walking towards the cabin.
Senior Edina took a deep breath, steeling herself for what was to come. The sound of footsteps grew louder, and the door creaked open. The woman and two men entered, bringing dinner.
"Sorry, kids, we’re a bit late! But we are finally here" the woman said with forced cheerfulness.
"Yeah, no shit, it’s nearly midnight!" Senior Edina cursed internally.
She focused, ready to execute her plan. As the woman approached to feed her, Senior Edina gripped the wooden needle tightly, waiting for the right moment. After eating the soup and rice, she asked to go to the restroom. "Sure, why not?" the woman replied, untying Senior Edina’s hands and supporting her to walk.
In a swift motion, Senior Edina poked the wooden needle into the woman's palm.
"What—" the woman started, but before she could finish, life drained from her eyes, and she collapsed, pulling Senior Edina down with her.
The man near Wei noticed and called out, "What happened? Are you alright?" He walked towards them, concern etched on his face. Senior Edina, still on the floor, quickly rolled over and poked the needle into his exposed foot through his shoe.
The man’s eyes widened in shock, but he too fell lifelessly on top of Senior Edina before he could utter a sound.
"Damn it!" The third captor instantly became aware that something was wrong. "You did something to them, didn’t you?" he shouted, distancing himself from Senior Edina.
Senior Edina, pinned under the man’s body, felt a surge of panic. She had not anticipated this turn of events and was now immobilized, unable to move. The third captor was getting ready to escape.

Seeing Senior Edina struggling to close the distance, the third captor prepared to flee. Suddenly, Lin used all her Qi to charge at him, delivering a headbutt that pushed him near Senior Edina. Although still trapped under the man’s body, Senior Edina managed to throw the wooden needle, which slightly poked the third captor.
"I’m getting out of here!" the captor snarled in anger. He began circulating his Qi, a murderous aura surrounding him. But before he could act, he collapsed lifelessly.
With all three captors dead and midnight approaching, Senior Edina knew their companions might come looking for them soon. "Help me out of here!" she began, but before she could finish, Lin ran out, leaving Wei and Senior Edina behind. Wei hesitated only for a moment before following his sister, abandoning Edina under the body.
"Typical," Senior Edina muttered, struggling to free herself.
The 'Isolation Body Constitution' was a rare affliction that insulated any life force that wasn't her own. By this logic, injecting even a small part of her, like blood or a hair, into an opponent be it a human, bead or even a demon from the underworld it could disrupt the natural flow of Qi, causing their body to lose life instantly. This unique ability allowed Senior Edina to stand in the final confrontation against the demons from the underworld. She didn't need martial arts or combat skills; a single strike could remove her opponents from this plane.
However, this didn't grant her invincibility. Simple injuries posed a significant threat because Qi healing or any form of healing magic couldn't work on her. Even the life force from foreign objects like germs or viruses could easily disrupt her body, making her very sick. Everyone in the Blazing Dawn sect knew the latter part. That was the reason why even if Xiao Min tormented her, she would still warm the water at least a bit before Edina bath or bring in meat at least once a month.
The reason she couldn't heal her leg despite extensive efforts was directly related to this disease. Otherwise, given the connections of her family in both Leon and the Central Plains, she should have been cured long ago but no Mage or Martial Doctor could bypass the disease.
Senior Edina tried everything but was unable to move the heavy body away. She knew that even if she managed to free herself, she wouldn’t be able to escape. Without a cane, running was impossible. She struggled desperately, but with a single blink, her demeanor changed completely. The confident, determined expression faded, replaced by the confusion of a meek and naive 13-year-old girl. Junior Edina had taken over as it was now midnight.
Junior Edina blinked, disoriented, finding herself trapped under a heavy body. She looked around in bewilderment, noticing the two other lifeless bodies nearby. Panic set in as she tried to comprehend the situation.
"Wh-what’s happening?" she stammered, her voice trembling.
She pushed weakly against the body pinning her down, but her strength was no match for the weight. Tears welled up in her eyes as she realized the dire situation she was in. The fear of the unknown, combined with her physical incapability, made her feel utterly helpless.
"Someone, please help me!" Junior Edina cried out, her voice barely above a whisper. She hoped that Wei and Lin were nearby, that they might come back and rescue her, but deep down, she knew it was unlikely.
After a few minutes of calling for help, Junior Edina gave up, pondering how Senior Edina could have achieved this. Senior Edina wasn't a martial artist and only had the assistance of two amateur martial artists. How could she have possibly defeated three professional martial artists? Is Senior Edina a martial artist? Is she that powerful? Will she also be able to do something like this in the future!?
As Junior Edina wrestled with these thoughts, she heard footsteps drawing closer. Fear gripped her heart because if Wei and Lin had fled, then the approaching footsteps likely meant they belonged to the companions of the captors lying dead here.
The footsteps grew louder as did Junior Edina’s heart beat making her choke until a figure loomed near Junior Edina. She squeezed her eyes shut, bracing herself for the worst, trembling with fear.
