Leon POV
"...I don't know what you're talking about."
"Stop with the act." she responded with a glare as the light around her dimmed, showing me her face for the first time, kinda cute, but I'm not that desperate.
"What act?"
"I know that you're a demigod."
"...I am?"
"I know that you're a demigod. Your so-called 'glasses' are suppressors for the powers derived from your godly parent, meant to keep your powers in check. Take them off."
"Yeah, I know that they're suppressors, but they're just here to help with my abilities. I’m a mutant, not some...demigod."
Lux looked at me like she was trying to figure out if I was lying or genuinely clueless.
"You’re telling me you have no idea you’re a demigod? You were adopted, weren’t you?" she asked
"Yeah, I was adopted, but I'm just a mutant with some extra abilities. What does this have to do with being a demigod?"
"You really don’t know...You honestly believe you’re just a mutant?"
"Well, yeah? That’s what I’ve been told my whole life, if there's more to it, nobody told me. The idea of mutants being discriminated against is more fun in the comics than it is in real life. Especially since all of us discovered this fact only a few years ago."
"So, you've been living your life thinking you’re just a mutant, completely unaware of your true origins?"
"If I'm something else, then someone seriously dropped the ball on telling me."
"I may have just revealed something I wasn’t supposed to," she admitted, more to herself than to me." She muttered something under her breath
"Yeah, it sounds like you did, so...what now?"
If I really am a demigod, that means I might actually have a chance to take down Hermes. And I need to do that. I could feel the corners of my mouth twitch, threatening to give away my thoughts. This is good news, better than I could have hoped for. But I had to keep it together and play it cool. Lux didn’t need to see how much this was affecting me. If she thought I already knew, there was no reason to let her think otherwise.

But wait… The thought nagged at me as I tried to piece it all together. Mutants… they’ve only just started awakening their abilities in the past few years. If I’m a demigod, does that mean the others are too? It didn’t make sense. Some of the mutants I knew were decades older than I was, yet they only awakened recently, just like me. Why now? Why did all of this happen at the same time? It couldn't be a coincidence that so many mutants, or rather demigods if that’s what they really were, suddenly discovered their powers.
"So...who are my parents?"

Lux POV
I can’t believe I just did that. He didn’t know… he had no idea. I had been so sure, so confident that he was playing some elaborate game, pretending not to know his true nature. But the confusion in his eyes...he wasn’t acting. He genuinely didn’t know he was a demigod. And now he does. That was the last thing I wanted. With that knowledge, he’d start to become more aware of himself, more aware of the power that lay dormant within him.
It was only a matter of time before his abilities fully awakened, and once that happened…He’ll become far more powerful than he is now.
The thought was troubling. I had no idea just how strong he could become as there are a good portion of demigods who can rival gods, but it was clear that the more he understood who he was, the more dangerous he would be. There was no telling what he could do once he unlocked his true potential.
However, there’s still time. I could request the higher-ups to investigate his lineage, to determine who his parents really were. And once we knew, I could make sure that information never reached him. If he never found out where he came from, he might never fully realize his potential. Still, it was a risky move. I then requested to dismiss him for now, watching him leave the room. But...as he walked away, I could’ve sworn I saw a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.
Did he figure something out? I shook my head.
No, it’s probably nothing...But the seed had been planted, and I could only hope it wouldn’t grow into something beyond my control.

Leon POV
As I made my way back from the meeting with Lux, something gnawed at the back of my mind. The idea that I might be a demigod still felt surreal, but it also made sense in a twisted way. If Lux let that slip, then it was information worth digging into. And I knew just the place to start. I then requested a detour to the shops, which the security didn't mind.
Stepping inside, I approached the counter where the shopkeeper, a skeleton by the name of Jon, yes, without the H, and they do have names.
"Yo man, I got a question."
"What do you need?" he asked
"How much would it cost for me to find out who my parents are?"
"Specify. Are you talking about your godly parent?"
"I'm a demigod, apparently. I need to find out who my godly parent is."
"That’ll run you 500,000. It's rare knowledge, not easy to come by. And besides, knowing that kind of information could change a lot for you."
As I walked back, my thoughts raced at the price. 500,000...And yet, knowing who my parents were could be the key to figuring all of this out, well more like it would help in my escape if I knew my abilities better even then, I doubt that it's still enough to help me figure out who my parents are, this thing seems to be the only way for now.
At that price… I’d have to come up with another plan. One step at a time...
