With a bunch of resources in his arms and a pouch full of coins, Emcy returned to his home, but instead of going in, he walked into the stinking backyard full of swines.
'At least they don't talk so much,' Emcy thought while making his way through the mud. Finally, he stopped right before a big tree that was growing out of the pig's dirt. After looking around, he sat down on a patch of grass and dug out a little loose soil.
Underneath, he revealed a wooden plate that was covering a small space where Emcy had stored all his belongings. He threw the pouch of coins into the hole before taking out a small brown sack.
'Well, since this is my first quest, I don't know for how long I will be gone, but I have to prepare a few things just in case. But first things first...'
Emcy took out a dried yellow fruit and began grinding it to dust with two stones. Once there was nothing left but white powder, he shoved it into the small sack carefully to not miss even a little bit. Then he took the pouch that contained all his wealth and covered the hole again before walking towards the outer city.
He stopped before a wooden shag that was open towards the street. From within, Emcy could smell a mixture of different foods, making his mouth water.
"Hello?" Emcy shouted.
A big woman appeared through the door in the back of the room with a smile. "Hello, how can I..."
But when she saw Emcy, her smile vanished. "No, we can't give you anything for free. If we start helping children like you, we can also just close the store. So if you don't want to buy anything, please leave. You will keep away the other customers."
Emcy frowned. "But I don't want anything for free, I have the money."
The woman shook her head. "I already told you, we don't... wait, what?"
"I already have the money," Emcy repeated.
"Oh please, why would you want to buy anything here if you can't even afford new clothes? If you think about just running, you should think again, my husband..."
Emcy placed his pouch full of coins on the counter. "You don't need to worry about my circumstances, just tell me your prices."
The woman's eyes became wide when she saw the copper coins glimmering inside the bag.
'How can someone like him have that much money?' Emcy could almost hear the woman's thoughts.
"Ah... Of course... Our soup costs half a copper, and our vegetable plate costs one copper. If you want anything with meat, that would cost two copper," the woman said.
"What kind of meat do you have?" Emcy asked.
"We only serve monster meat, but don't worry, everything has been disinfected with herbs. Do you want meat stew or soup?"
"I will have two meat stews," Emcy said.
"Are you sure? It's more than enough for one person," the woman looked at Emcy with a puzzled face.
"It's not only for me," Emcy said, throwing four copper on the counter.
"Ok, I'm going to prepare your meals now," the woman said, disappearing through the door in the back.
After ten minutes, the woman came out with two steaming bowls of stew that she handed Emcy before taking the four copper on the counter.

Without another word, Emcy took the stews and his money and left.
'That was an easy trope... overcoming somebody's expectations isn't really hard if you look like I do right now. I think I'm going to stay in those clothes a while longer, I'm used to being in dirty clothes anyways.'
When Emcy thought back to the days he had to spend as an otaku, his entire body shook out of disgust.
On the way back home, Emcy took out his second sack, which was filled with the powder of the yellow dragon apple and poured the entire content on top of one of the stews.
It took until he was at his house to mix the powder in enough so that it couldn't be seen anymore. But before going in, Emcy cleared his bowl of stew and stored it inside his small dirt hole.
When he entered the house, Emcy saw his mother sitting at the table while sewing something back together that should have been thrown out years ago.
Only when he placed the stew on the table did his mother finally look up. When she realised it was her son, a frown appeared on her face, but as she remembered the sudden change her child had gone through in the last few days, a small smile appeared.
"My son, I didn't see you today, how have you been?"
Emcy smiled back before answering. "I was accepted as a blacksmith apprentice today, so I wasn't able to come back before. But since I earned a little bit of money, I bought you something nice to eat," he pointed at the bowl.
"Oh really, you didn't need to..." she said, but she had already grabbed the bowl with both hands.
"Don't worry about it. From tomorrow onwards, I will always be buying you something nice to eat," Emcy said with a smile.
"Oh, I'm so happy that you finally recovered. I already thought you would never be able to come to your senses again," his mother said before starting to shovel the food into her mouth.
'Yes, I definitely know why you are happy. Because I can finally provide for you and my sister... But it's always bad to rely too much on others. You might have done some things for the previous owner of this body, but I have no reason to help you if I don't gain anything from it.'
"How was it?" Emcy asked once his mother had cleared the entire bowl.
"I thank you, it was delicious. But now I feel a little bit tired, I think I'm going to lie down for a bit."
As his mother was standing up, Emcy closed the gap between them. She was able to take one step before her eyes flickered and her body collapsed. But since Emcy had already known what would happen next, he had no problem catching her.
"Sleep well, mother," Emcy whispered. "Now, you don't have to worry about anything anymore. Thanks to you, your son will become one of the strongest humans in this world."
Finally, Emcy had achieved one of the most powerful tropes that he had discovered during his research. Every one of the characters that were affected by that trope became unbelievably overpowered.
To activate this trope, he would have to get the one herb that could heal the permanent coma the overconsumption of the yellow dragon appel caused. The very valuable and rare toe-root.
